Taken by a Vampire Mercenary Assassin that killed her father. Held captive, and thrust into a world she thought was only found in her books.
Will she survive, or will this new world be too much for her?
***
A world where shadows hold secrets, and eerie whispers fill the air. Trust is as scarce as moonlight on a stormy night, and fear... it's the currency these dark beings trade in. Monsters, born to haunt your nightmares, prowl with an insatiable thirst for torment, their hearts devoid of mercy.
Yet, in this twisted realm, there are the daring few who confront these malevolent entities. Some seek to join their ranks, lured by sinister alliances, while others stand defiantly against the unholy, ready to clash in the encroaching darkness. Deals inked in shadows and legal dances with the devil.
In the midst of this chaos lies my father, ensnared in a legal network entwined with vampires. Forget bedtime stories; these monsters are all too real, lurking not just when the moon is high but also under the sun’s cruel gaze.
I enjoyed this one. I’m actually not a huge fan on retellings so that made me nervous. I enjoyed this one with the twist of vampires. I will say there was a lot more content “world building” than I felt necessary but I can understand that if it’s going to be a longer series!
I wasn’t quite expecting a cliffy so that threw me but not in a bad way! Good way to keep us interested and waiting for what’s to come! Thanks for the early option to read! Looking forward to reading more from this series!
ARC Read: Touch her and ☠️. World building, beauty and the beast but with Vampires. Hidden powers.
I really liked the book, there was just a lot of world building and I’m more of a throw me right in reader, but like I said i really did like it. Left on a big cliffhanger too and I’m more of person who will wait till a series is complete before starting because of cliffhangers 😂.
Thank you so much for the ARC – I’m always grateful for the chance to read early!
The first few chapters were a bit of a struggle for me. The pacing felt chaotic, and everything seemed a little all over the place. But once things settled down, that’s when the story really started to pull me in.
I did feel like some parts were missing or overly condensed. For example, Nick clearly uses Rose’s name early in the book, yet about 35% in, she suddenly realizes he knew it—which confused me since he’d already said it multiple times. The timeline also threw me off a bit. There’s a lot of back-and-forth between “weeks” and “months,” and key moments like the first snowfall didn’t carry the impact I think they were meant to.
Rose clearly has Stockholm syndrome, which fits the dynamic, but I found her thoughts about Nick a little frustrating at times. He’s very hot and cold, constantly shifting moods, so some of her reactions or emotional swings felt a bit over the top or not quite earned.
That being said – the last few chapters? I couldn’t put the book down. I was completely hooked and now I’ve got so many questions I hope will be answered in the next book.

Touch her and d13 vibes Vampires Beauty and the Beast energy
To be honest, this book took a little longer to read then usual. In the beginning of the book, I was a little hesitant because things seemed to be thrown right at you in a way that wasn’t exactly world building. It felt rushed and a little confusing, especially when it came to certain characters and storylines.
Around the 35% of the book is when the story started to pick up. You can definitely tell there was definitely Stockholm syndrome starting to occur with Rose, mostly towards the end of the book. The relationship between Nick and Rose started to grow slowly which was exciting but it almost felt a little forced.
While the book had some good points, there were a few things I didn’t like such as Rose instantly started calling him Master out of nowhere. There was no set up, nothing. It kind of felt out of place without having reasoning.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and I’m excited to support the author.
This book had me up late turning pages! I just kept getting pulled into the book! She is taken by a vampire who was ment to kill her then he saves her and kidnaps her. Through the story there is steam and feelings all over the place! If you are into vampire love books this one is definitely one to get because you won’t want to put it down!
This was an easy, fun read AND my first vampire read. The author did really well in setting expectations and dropped just enough world building that I'm reeling for the second one after that cliffhanger. Can't wait for more 😊
