What happens when three more English ladies are shipped off halfway across the world as mail order brides? EVERYTHING! Three sisters, Lena, Fina and Apple go from an even more posh lifestyle than their cousins before them, and arrive in Clear Creek, a nothing of a town full of quirky characters, crazy live-stock, and bumbling villains! Escorted by their strict and very proper distant cousin, Imogene, the girls have a hard time adjusting to life on the prairie (and they’ve only just arrived!). What’s to become of them? What if they can’t live up to their intended’s expectations? Lena worries most of all and is the first to wed. How will she please her husband when she can’t so much as boil water?
Chase Adams has lived in Clear Creek a little over two years and doesn’t plan on going back to San Francisco, a city of regrets. His father moved Chase and his mother there after he struck gold, and all that new wealth went to his head. He didn’t like money after that, and got as far from it and the evils that went with it, as he could. No one knew his past, and he kept it that way, by being alone. But soon that loneliness took its toll, so he had Sadie Cooke get him a mail-order bride. But then, what shows up? Three high-bred English ladies, that’s what! None of which knew how to survive prairie life. But that didn’t matter. What did was his heart. Was the English Miss Sadie ordered up to the task of caring for it?
Kit Morgan, aka Geralyn Beauchamp, has been writing for fun all of her life. When writing as Geralyn Beauchamp, her books are epic, adventurous, romantic fantasy at its best. When writing as Kit Morgan they are whimsical, fun, inspirational sweet and clean stories that depict a strong sense of family and community. 'His Prairie Princess' is the first of the Prairie Brides books and the first in the series of a long line of stories about Clear Creek, Oregon. One of the wackiest little towns in the old west! Get to know the townsfolk in Clear Creek and come sit a spell!
NOTE: Hi folks, it has come to my attention there is an erotica book floating around out there written under the name Kit Morgan. IT IS NOT MY BOOK! I do not, and never will, write in that genre.
I am thoroughly enjoying this series! Chase and his intended Lena do more courting than the others before them but we find out a lot along the way. Lena and her sisters are the second batch of brides to come from England. Chase and the rest of Clear Creek have been off hunting for the rustlers who came through and tried to kill many of the wives. Bad news comes along with them when they arrive back in town which is also bad news for one of the sisters. The three girls begin to realize how much they will need to learn to be good wives out on the prairie and it comes along with challenges. Slowly, along the way, Chase and Lena start to fall. It sweet and fun. I got a few laughs out of this one. A great series!
This starts the second of two trilogies. In this book the author not only tells the story of main couple, Chase and Lena, but she Guv is info about the three sisters that fill this trilogy. Even nicer, we get more interaction with secondary characters like Jefferson, Edith, and Sally Upton.
Reading this at night while on vacation babysitting the grands. Love Kit Morgan books. Pure escapism and entertainment. Relaxation at the end of a busy day. What can I say about the book...more of the same but only different. On to the next. 😉
Short story in the continuing soap opera of Prairie Grooms finds the three lady sisters getting to know their grooms. Lena and Chase, the blacksmith, will marry first and this story is about how Lena worries how she will adapt. Get ready to laugh!
A new set of English ladies, who don’t have any idea of prairie life. Talk about couture shock. Will they make it without maids and all. Read and find out. 😉
Loved this one too! I really enjoy Tom telling the story and can't wait for the next book! Going to be interesting when it comes time for the brothers to get bride's!
Another in the series that I have come to enjoy. I have opted to use one review for the first three books in the series. The prairies groom series has a storyteller who shares the stories of pseudo-mail order brides who come to western United States from England in search of husbands. Each book describes a different bride and relationships with the first three focused on three beautiful sisters who were not marriageable in their homeland because every suitor met with an unfortunate accident. The stories are tied together by a sub-plot that is connected to an inheritance in England and a slighted potential heir. The fun of the stories is that each sister lived a privileged life before their journey to America and is completely incompetent when is comes to farming, ranching or prairie life. Books 1-3 tell the story of each sister and the discovery of love with her bridegroom. I enjoyed the writing and the stories even if though the premise is a little kooky. Romantic with mild references to adult relationships.
I loved the previous titles in this series, but this book has incomplete paragraphs and reads scattered. I would like to read this book without these errors. there are many.
I am enjoying this series. Lena is the first bride from the second set of brides from England. It is funny to read about her trying to learn to be a wife. She doesn't even know how to boil water. Let alone to cook, clean, do laundry, and learn to skin a rabbit.
So Kit Morgan is the author that I stumbled across last year that introduced me to the whole mail order bride/western historical romance/kindle book thing. I have loved everything that I've read by her and this is no different. You really can't go wrong reading any book by Kit Morgan.
Again, another great book by Kit Morgan!! It leaves you needing to start book 5 right away!! Lena and Chase were fun to read about!! Can't wait till everyone finally realizes who Cutty is!!!
