what the hell
So I started reading this book due to there being many trigger warnings, and that peaked my interested. And for a while, the book was “interesting” in the sense that I giggled a lot. I thought this was some sort of joke, I mean, the FMC consistently gets 🍇’d until all she can think about is, well his 🍆, to the point she literally goes crazy over it in an asylum. The whole plot is disgusting and bizarre, I had to do a lot of skimming.
The first time the FMC 💦’s is in front of her brother, in a prison visit, because she locked eyes with the MMC. She immediately goes to the prison guest toilets and 💦’s again. Honestly, it’s hilariously terrible.
I don’t shame people’s kinks, but the whole “daddy” thing was way over the top. Especially when he refers to himself as daddy to both his son and her, ick.
Also apparently ALL the police and investigators also want to 🍆 the FMC, one nearly 🍇ing her. No man is actually sane in this story.
Also the whole “MMC is dead, I’m the new MMC”, just very uncreative writing.
The author states that she is proud to write about “realistic black women”, yet I can’t help but wonder if maybe she is confused about what a “realistic woman” is? I also question the sanity of the author to be able to come up with something so gruesome.
The story building was, non existent, this is one big “smut” book, no character build-up or much background.

The book was good and may could have been great. The writing style was bad. The grammar was bad. I listened to most via audio.. it was bad.
Essentially, the woman went to jail to visit her brother, she locked eyes with the MC inmate and she fell in lust. He broke out of jail, with the help of the guard, got into her back trunk and left with her. There was a hurricane/tornado , the roads were flooded and she managed to make it to a little cabin (with him in the back, almost drowning in the trunk). He broke into the cabin (after she initially broke into the cabin), raped her and that began their journey. A cop found them but he chopped him up and buried him. Later, they were surrounded by many police and they made an escape in one of the cop's cars. He ended up at a cliff, he pushed her out and drove over.
She was taken to a mental ward b/c she was in love with him and as a result she was (to outsiders) saying insane things. She discovered that she was pregnant. She ended up suing the state and she started a bakery business. She always believed that MC was alive.
In the end, one day she was passing a bar and she saw him. Since then, he created an entire new identity. She forced him back home with her and he reluctantly obliged. It was discovered that people that spoke I'll of them/her were imprisoned. He pretended not to know her and they ended up having sex. She was eventually drugged by his maid/Butler. MC ended up killing the imprisoned 'haters'.
Unbeknownst to her, he'd been sneaking into her home ,playing with their child and keeping an eye on her the entire time. His staff even stopped a few people from killing her (b/c she was an extension of him).
They ended up living happily ever after.

Now THIS is a Dark Romance!
To begin, I was interested in this book as I do love the thought of the Joker/Harley Quinn relationship type.
This is my first book from Rose Marie, and I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t care that I put other tasks off and stayed up late to finish this—it was THAT good to me.
Pro tip: The themes in this book are NOT for the prude nor the faint at heart. She makes this clear before it begins. This is for those of us who have a thing for a Joker type—the alpha, possessive, unhinged, you get it. This isn’t for the ones looking for romance and roses.
Not only did the story make me think of this as a very good combo of a dark romance and a suspense story, but I just want to say that I appreciate the author’s inclusion of visuals throughout the story—thank you!
There are twists in the story that I didn’t expect to occur with Shaw (Saw) and Robin (Birdie), but it kept me on my toes. And, when you think it’s over, there’s a little more that Rose gives the readers to answer their lingering questions. If you’re unfamiliar with Rose Marie and found interest in the aforementioned, then please give this a read. Very much worth it!
Plot: 5/5
Spice Level: 10/5 (Had to write a few things down 🤭, you may be like “What? Wait a minute…”)
Character development: 4.95/5.0 (I’m still wondering about one particular character in the end. I thought I solved it, then they were almost mentioned, but maybe it wasn’t meant to be revealed)

It’s RARE that I’M speechless these days…4 star read
D@mn! This new to me author Rose Marie took my on a trip (& not on our favorite rocket ship), this chick is diabolical! I’ve read TONS of dark books but this one takes the cake on the nature of the dark. I know it’s not all that shocking to the ones who like a bit more pain with their dark AF romances but still pretty darned new to me.
I’m not too into the cutting, to the point of scabbing and rivulets of it? The things he did with FOOD and make shift toys…the way he stockholmed the MESS out of her…my mind is just blown.
Yes he WAS unhinged for her but he didn’t treat her with care, I think that’s what turned me off, (however it was EXACTLY her cup of tea so more power to her)! I need my Hero/Villain to cherish his obsession and yes a little pain and blood play are welcome but this was on a whole nother level of degradation. Again, not a bad thing, just not my personal preference.
This book was a find F and boy did he F her up. 😮💨 Not sure how she was still able to function after being trained and left.
All in all, this book was mad crazy! I THINK I’m going to read something else by this author but I’ve got to shake off this highly disturbing feeling I’ve got going on 1st! Cheers to you Rose Marie, you have guaranteed I won’t be forgetting you or your book!!

Definitely reading this cover
This was really some sick $hit, but it was good. I couldn’t stop reading because I wanted to know what happens. Yes, people can be judgmental but what Birdie or Robin went through was her situation, and she could either embrace it or fall under it. You can be trained to love something or hate it, a BDE like Saw knew how to handle his BDE, some men don’t. Some men that know nothing about BDSM but try to experiment with a little, don’t know how to handle even trying it. But some men can train you to hate sex as well, I know mine train me to where it was hard for me to even cum. He was get off and if I didn’t cum, he would just stop, he would tell me he couldn’t go any more. There used to be foreplay, but he stop that after 7 yrs of marriage, then if I tried to encourage him and I was ready, he would tell me I’m to anxious. Then he turned selfish, he would waited til I was sleep, or reading a book, it was all about him getting off. It was so bad that romance books or erotic books were the only things that made me excited. I divorced him over 8 yrs ago, I’ve had several men treat me very special, but only 2 of them was the sex mind blowing.
I would love to find someone to read this story with and see what happens.

Freed not Broken
Ma’am! The dark romance gave and did not stop. This was too good. Read it in one day and I’ll be reading it again. Ms. Rose’s books always are top tier, but there was something about this one that was extra satisfying. Aside from the deliciously, Miss Jackson if you nasty, parts this book had me in a chokehold!! Saw, an escaped felon taking what belongs to him and a caged Birdie literally trapped with him but he teaches her to be free. Like all the trigger warnings say, I’m not glamorizing real encounters like these, however this story was just done so well that you got to experience Robin’s internal struggle alongside her. Those doubts and questionable thoughts you as the reader have Robin has them too and you get to feel how she deals with it. I just loved it!

Delicious
When I say I want a morally black psychopath mmc this is what I'm talking about. From the very start Saw was with the shits and gave fucks. He saw Robin aka Birdie and immediately knew she was his to do what he please with her. Birdie held on the her sanity for a long as she could. But she was no match for the level of depravity the he through at her. She cracked and her own depravity and craziness came out and matched Saw energy. The ending blow me away because I didn't see that coming. This book isn't for light dark romance readers. This for those so deep in the trenches of depravity the you've fallen in to erotica thriller and/or erotic (w)horror. I need more stories like this.

Finally
This book was everything that I thought it would be. As much as I wanted to savor it, that did not happen. I tore through this book like nobody’s business. Saw was relentless and did not spare ANY feelings. Birdie fought but finally accepted the true version of herself. Her family was absolute trash and I was a bit surprised by DeMarcus though I guess he was just looking out for her. I don’t want to spoil anything so I advise you read the book BUT do read the trigger warnings. This is not for the faint at heart but was oh so wonderfully done. Rose Marie is in her groove! Can’t wait to read more.

Not for the faint of heart!!!!!!
I must say, you never really know what you’re going to get from a Rose Marie book. She is the very good writer. Inmate 0976371 Saw! That Joker there, is a full Dom with a sadistic side! Saw kidnapped Robin, so he could have his way with her. I will stop because I don’t want to spoil this story for others. It has A lot of TRIGGERS!! Before you read this book, you Really should read the warnings before the story begins. It is a good book! There are grammar errors but, it doesn’t take away from the story. I went through All emotions reading The Inmate 0976371. Spicy Hotttttt scenes! I enjoyed the story.

I’m not the type of person who leaves reviews but I’ve been waiting for this book since Rose Marie teased it and I have to say she did not disappoint. Saw is my type of man and I want one NOW!!! There has to be a way to order him off Amazon!!! The scene with the ax 🔥🔥🔥🔥☄️☄️☄️☄️”I see what you’ve done for other Lords, why not me.” LOL!!! Birdie’s conviction at the end spoke to a deeper part of me and I was glad to see it. WE NEED MORE BOOKS LIKE THIS!!!! FANTASTIC WORK!!!!!❤️❤️❤️

This author is so creative and this story so beyond dark twisted and intriguing. Do not skip any of the trigger warnings that the author lays out very clearly at the beginning of the book. I do not know how to describe the story, but it is very much the nontraditional and heavy chemistry dark romance between 2 dark souls that find each other and will not let go. The way they express their feelings and passion is different but works for them. I could not put it down.

I love romance .. and this just does it all for me I don’t need romance I don’t want a changed man I want everything real and raw and unforgiving this book is that and then so much more it gripped me from start to finish and the little treats of other characters from other books was a great touch I enjoyed saw and birdie and will be re reading this again and again absolute 5 star worthy I wish I could give it more

Absolutely Brilliant!
This book was so far out of my comfort zone I was cackling like Birdie! I couldn't put it down because each twist and turn had me gasping or laughing! 10/10 for addictiveness and the illustrations really brought the scenes to life. I've read some of this author's other books and enjoyed them but this one was off the chain! Would thoroughly recommend for those who want a break from the vanilla love!

Not your typical romance
This book was a lot and is not for everyone! Pay attention to the trigger warnings in the beginning. With that being said this was an amazing story. Robin/Birdie really was not who I thought she was from the first few chapters. She knew what she wanted but was scared to ask for it until Saw showed her it wasn’t a bad thing. And Saw was something else. He definitely is not your typical romantic guy. Very well written with only a few editing issues.

What a ride!
Rose Marie delivered on Birdie and Saw story. This woman wanted something different, and Saw brought out the real Birdie.
This book is dark, but I have read darker. I love it when Saw realizes Birdie is a special kinda of crazy made just for him.

So good! Did not know how I would feel but Ms Rose Marie did not disappoint! Oooooo and the way you snuck in a favorite of mine ( Angel ) loved it. Do your self a favor and read it. The writing as always is like listening to one of my girls relay a story with all of the juicy parts.

The way I clutched my pearls and squeezed my thighs together while reading this book! Multiple times! This was a dark and twisted surprise. This book is not for the faint of heart. If you are a prude, this is not for you. I was seeking something different, and Rose Marie did not disappoint.

absolutely disgusting… in all the right ways.
Rose has done it again. I love the female lead. She represents what so much of us battle with. I appreciate how Rose wrote the internal conflict of wanting something that’s contradicts what society says you should want.
I will be reading again!

oooh so dark but so good!
First off plz check your trigger warnings because this one is definitely dark. Butt I loved this book the spicy scenes the power plays seeing birdie evolve through the book was so intense but so good. The the glossary at the end explains different dynamics because a girl didn’t have a clue. I will definitely be reading more books by Rose Marie

An amazingly wild story I didn’t want to end
What an unbelievable topsy turvy incomprehensible ride! And baby I don’t want to get off! There are trigger warnings so if you are easily triggered this may not be for you. But if you go in KNOWING this is fiction and meant for an escape from reality, buckle up tight and enjoy the ride!

This 1Was interesting and took some getting used to in the beginning. Absolutely love the storyline because it was interesting and different. As usual I also love the characters because they're unique in their own way. It's going to be interesting seeing where book 2 in the inmate series picks up. Looking forward to book 2.

Whew chile this was a lot! Definitely heed to the warnings at the very beginning because this will not be everyone’s cup of tea! None of the triggers bothered me, but I can’t say I was all that interested in the story beyond the smut. It’s very much smut heavy in like the first 40-50% & then the plot somewhat starts to come in later but at that point I wasn’t hooked.

Oh my word!!! This book here is EVERYTHING!! So many things to point out that was just so good. But what I love the most is how characters from other books were in this one and have helped in some way or name was dropped. Which made it so cool. Also a favorite part was near the end when Lux got that ah ha moment on LeMarcus. That was funny as hell 😂😂
