Morella Moon was born in the shadows, emerging from a cauldron of blood and bile after an ancient ritual was performed. From her crypt, she weaves tales of love and darkness, crafting each story like a delicate spell. Occasionally, she emerges to devour a book or two, feeding her insatiable hunger for magical tales. Beware—her stories may just enchant you long after the final page is turned.
I received an arc copy of this book (thank you Morella) which I ended up reading in one sitting! This book was dark and utterly unhinged and I ate up every minute of it! An unhinged undead MMC on a vicious revenge spree with the love of his life had me sat. August had true "touch her and die" vibes when it came to Natasha. I loved the chaos of the book, and I loved Mandy, she is one of those true ride or die friends and I loved that she was willing to do anything for Natasha. I had such a fun time reading this!
WHAT did I just read and also, is there more? This book is UNHINGED. Buckle up.
August tragically dies after being run over by a reckless driver. Heartbroken, his love does an occult ritual to bring him back from the dead. After it works, August spends the remainder of the story on a revenge bender.
I will start off by saying that this book is not what I expected. I have no idea WHY I thought that August would come back from the dead and be sweet as pie. They would ride off into the sunset or something. I hated that he was awful to Natasha, but it turns out, being undead makes you not so nice. Go figure.
In order to spark said revenge bender, Natasha dates another person from the friend group in between August’s death and the ritual. I found this to be a little unbelievable because she spends the first portion of the book talking about how it would never happen (although grief works in funny ways). This seemed to be more of a plot device than anything - however, I don’t see much of a way around it.
This story is unlike anything I’ve ever read. Thank you to Morella Moon for the opportunity to be one of your ARC readers!
4.5 ⭐️ This story stayed with me long after I finished it, and I'm already exited to read it again! When tragedy struck August and Natasha, the latter doesn't know how to move on. But when someone she never expected to see ever again suddenly appears in her house a dark evening, her whole life is turned upside down. This book gave me all the great vibes from movies and shows such as The Craft, Buffy, Charmed and all the great 90's spooky vibes. Mix that with love and mystery, this was a win for me. This is the first book I've read by Morella Moon, but I can't wait to read more in the future!
The more I sat with the book and thought about it, the more I found out how much I loved it! So if you love dark, spooky vibes, witchy-vibes, possessive mmcs, and love that conquer all, this is a book for you!
A big thank you to the author for letting med read an arc of their story!
I read this so fast, I couldn’t put this down. It was dark and juicy. Wes, Scott and Mandy were those ride or die friends. Mandy was funny and crazy, the type of friend that will unalive someone to protect you and dating a serial killer says a lot about her lol. 😂 Devin, God Devin was so annoying and the type of man that don’t like the word no. I hated him so much. Mr. Grabby was disgusting in every level. I felt so bad when Scott, Wes and Mandy had to do what they had to do, but I think I would have done the same but in a better way though 😂😂😂😂
Mandy as crazy as she is playing around with witchcraft was so unexpected from her but she did it to help Tash. Bringing someone back from the dead was crazy as hell but damn it turned everything around everything. Going on a revenge unaliving spree with the love of your life was fking WILD 😂😂😂🫣🫣🤭🤭
August and Tash were made for each other. I mean he meant it when he said that from the beginning. The spiceeee 🥵 🥵😮💨 so good. And the scene in Devin’s house 😳😳🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴 my mouth dropped.
In overall this was dark and so unhinged yet so damn good. ❤️😍
I received a copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review. All opinions are my own.
Being dead changes you, and there's always a price to pay when returning from the grave.
I really liked this book. To say that August is unhinged would be the understatement of the century. Honestly, I loved him. He was truly a ride or die for Natasha and would do absolutely anything to protect her, and I love that in a man. I also loved Mandy; she was such a fun friend, and while she is less ride or die in a literal sense when compared to August, she is still absolutely a ride or die friend.
I also just love the satanic panic backdrop of this book. It feels so fitting for an occult horror romance.
If you like witchcraft that brings people back from the dead and revenge plots, you will love this book.

🌶️🌶️🌶️ You read the blurb, you get an idea of what you are in for, but what you actually get while reading Fatally Yours is unexpected and addictive. I needed to know what would happen next and read the majority of the book in one session.
It was poetic, wasn’t it? A lover exsanguinating themselves over the body of the deceased?
Thank you, Morella Moon for an eARC!
“He wouldn’t kill me. I’d be the special one he keeps around because he likes me so much.”
Sins Of The Stone made my heart warm and fuzzy and told me Morella was someone whose writing I would connect with on many levels. Fatally Yours has turned me into a mega fan and put her as an auto-buy author for me. This book delivered on everything promised and then some. The satanic panic small town setting in the 80s vibes were perfectly painted without any need for explicit stating of such. We all knew this group of friends from either living in that era or watching the iconic media from it. Honestly, if this was made into a movie, I think it would be an instant cult classic. I really don't want to spoil a single thing because, from beginning to end, this book hit me in the feels and nostalgia. Definitely read the TW/CWs as it is vivid and graphic in all the best ways. August's death is one of the most viscerally felt deaths I have read in a while and I still see the image Morella painted in my mind.
“You know I would look for you,” he said. “And even if the world was on fire, I would never stop.”
I loved noticing Morella's writing style starting to stand out and while it may not be for everyone, I love it as much as I love seeing her growth from book to book. The emotions, details and scene painting she does is so vivid I felt like I was watching a classic beloved horror movie. I endlessly appreciate not only the raw vulnerability she gives Natasha but also the strength and growth that also come alongside and after such a tragedy. The overall messages and metaphors about people, morals, society and humanity really resonated with me and I always have huge respect for when a book makes me think deeply about such things long after I have closed my Kindle. The spice is, as always, great and one scene is definitely one of my favorites of the book.
“Exorcise your demons with me. Even if you crawl across the floor on your knees, I’ll still be there to make you bleed,”
If you enjoy horror and romance and love seeing a woman find her inner strength and carve out the future she wanted even when she thought it was lost to her with a side of 80s culture and a love that transcends death, then don't sleep on Fatally Yours! There is nothing I can compare it to, but it is going to be what I compare any future horror romances to as the bar to beat.
“I’m gonna live forever,” August said with a smile.

“What the fck did I just read?” – me, after finishing this book
Also: I loved it.
Let me be honest: I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from this book when I started reading it. I wasn’t the biggest fan of August, to be honest, so I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy their dynamic so much.
However…the hidden darkness residing within August during life is brought out tenfold in death. Which, as a fan of dark romance and morally gray MMCs, obviously means I ended up loving undead August, lol.
This is such a strange review to write because a part of me doesn’t even know how to write my thoughts down because this book was so different from what I’ve read before. It didn’t go in the direction I was expecting it to–except for something I suspected at the very end–and it has quickly become one of my absolute favorite reads of 2025.
Okay, now that I have that out of the way, I’ll try to explain my thoughts about this book in a more cohesive manner 😂
First off, I want to say that I loved Natasha, our FMC. She was incredibly sweet with a big heart and reading about her grief over August was absolutely devastating. I do think agreeing to date Devin was a big mistake, but I understand why she felt compelled to. Grief does some funny things to our psyche and with how alone she felt, I get why she finally gave in. But dang, that dude was such a dick.
The revenge plot, while obviously being super unhealthy, was definitely compelling and kept me intrigued. The plot definitely drove this book along, but I also loved the characters, the aesthetics, and the spice between August and Natasha.
I had a slight suspicion of how this book was going to end, but the way it played out was perfect and I loved it 💖
Big thanks to Morella Moon for the gifted copy! All opinions stated are my own.
I must simply start off with that this is my first read in the subgenre of horror romance and OhMyGawsh! You dive headfirst into August and Natasha's (Tash) love for one another. August is a lover of music and writes songs, specifically romantic sadism about the love of his life, Tash. She is there by his side with their friends Mandy, Scott, Wes, and Devin. Unfortunately, he is taken from them too soon by an unknown and they are stricken with grief and despair of losing someone close. With just a simple push towards a witchy ritual, things take a turn with a dark twist - August is brought back to life but wants to seek revenge against the ones who have wronged him. Tash gets to find out that just because you wish for something and given it doesn't mean wishes should always be answered.
The beginning felt a bit slow, but it helps set up the events of the novel itself. I love that it is set back in the late 80's as too many modern romances relay on mobiles and technology itself. It gives the feel of most 80s/90s horror films which in itself is something I personally love as they are a comfort watch. Which in turn makes this a comfort book to read for me.
As the story develops, I became enthralled in the characters fully, relating to Tash in multiple ways (minus the whole boyfriend coming back to life part 😂).
Morella Moon 100% gives us the horror romance with that extra flavor of spice! With this book as an introduction to the subgenre, I can guarantee you'll be on the edge of your seat while reading how everything plays out.
Fatally Yours. A spicy, occult rock horror romance with an undead MMC. You heard me right, he’s UNDEAD. It’s like Warm Bodies Mets Pet Semetary?
Whatever, you get it. It’s a 250 page one sitting wild ride of a book. I feel like every chapter was one gasp to another 😂
When Natasha’s boyfriend August dies in a tragic accident, she and her friends use a forbidden ritual to bring him back but he returns colder, darker, and bent on revenge. Caught between the love she lost and the monster he’s become, Natasha is forced into a chilling fight for her future, learning the hard way that the dead never come back the same.
I really loved Natasha as a character! She was different from characters I’ve read before and it was so heartbreaking to watch her lose August. I loved seeing him come back and her reaction to that. It was genuinely so fun!
This almost reads like a dark romance in the way that August was written. He was very twisted and I was into it. The spice was very well written, and I was riveted each time!
Overall, I would say if you like horror themes or dark romance, this is definitely your kind of book. Horror isn’t usually my genre but I found myself really enraptured by this story!
Thank you to the author for sending my an ARC for my honest review!
This is one of the best books in genre of romance horror and I loved it
For Natasha everything was going perfect until her boyfriend August died in an tragic accident and now she is grieving his death and her only wish is for him to come back, so she and her fellow friends do some witchy ritual and it works and he comes back but being dead changes people and it has changed August too and now he is out to get revenge on the people who did them wrong and now Natasha learns that you should be careful about what you wish for
I honestly loved Natasha and August, August's love is so passionate that it might even be tethering on the madness and he gave off real touch her and die vibes and the spice in the book, like god!! I loved it
I loved all the other characters in the book too, well, my favourite had to be Mandy, I loved her witty and funny nature and she is such an awesome character and an amazing friend
Natasha for me but might be my one of the favourite FMC, her overall nature really made me like her a lot, she was one of the best written FMC for me
The book was dark and unhinged and I read it in one sitting, like I literally devoured the book because of how good it was, haven't read a story like that in a long time, it was such an amazing book overall. I really loved it. One of the best written book with best written characters

A story of love and revenge Check your triggers Spice and everything not so nice
Fatally Yours is an interesting story. We have occult rock vibes, meets witch craft, some humor and degradation. August is sure he will live forever, his girlfriend doesn't want to imagine it. Unfortunately that only last so long, August gone and a year later her life is still upside down and empty. One night she loses the man she loved, one night of the occult for nothing to happen, one night and August isn't the only thing she loses. So many nights, and only so many events but it seemed it was always going to lead here.... Thrust yourself into the story, but be aware that this could trigger some. I was surprised by how much I really enjoyed the story on this one and I'm definitely going to have to check out more of her books now. I am so glad that a friend directed me towards her books and signing up for the eARC. If you like stories that are dark, filled with stab happy, revenge seeking people, and more trauma with a dash of hope... You may like this story.
“I refuse to rest in peace, baby. All I wanted was to have you with me.”
Thank you to the author for an arc for an honest review!
I love the idea of this book. I based on the cover I had thoughts, but I didn’t see it going the way it did.
One of my gripes is the not so subtle foreshadowing of August’s demise. The amount of times a car was mentioned speeding through the lot was comical.
I also didn’t like how nonchalant half of them were about death. Devin expected Natasha to get over it despite how traumatic it was. When Natasha was found, the comments from Scott about “August was a lucky man” made me cringe…like your friend is dead and you’re commenting on her naked body? Didn’t love that. And the argument of her not being Devin’s girl as they stand over her dead body…what even was that? Again…YOUR BUDDY IS DEAD and was clearly stabbed to death yet this is the hill you’re dying on?
I enjoyed the romance and spice in the story, by itself. The characters were okay, and I don’t think the writing was for me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I signed up and received this book as an Arc which I’m really grateful for but unfortunately it disappointed me a little. The writing felt like YA style but the content definitely wasn’t!
I love a good horror and the basic premise of the story was great but what ruined it for me and ultimately made me only give it 2 stars was the beginning of the book. Why would you stay with someone you aren’t happy with? And the forcing of a sexual act was pretty disgusting and not pleasant reading. This will probably be a trigger for a lot of readers. Also why so many references to dead people breathing after saying they don’t need to breathe?! This was weird!
The book did get better after this although it was a bit chaotic and lacked a bit of flow. It was also very sad in places and definitely should have come with trigger warnings as it is based around death. There is also explicit violence, references to drug use and child abuse.
Overall this is a very dark read but the general idea of ‘til death do us part’ gave it something that kept me reading and interested in it.
This book was a dark little delight! Not too long, but oh-so-intense in the best way. I was immediately hooked by Natasha (Tash)—she’s such a relatable FMC, and her love with August? Eternal. The kind of love that aches, haunts, and sticks with you.
After the tragic accident, watching Tash fall apart genuinely hurt. My heart broke for her. I won’t spoil anything (you need to experience it yourself), but let’s just say August’s return brings some wild, unexpected twists that had me flipping pages like mad.
The revenge arc? So satisfying. I was living for it. And the side characters—Wes and Mandy completely stole my heart, while Devin... well, I despise him with every fiber of my being.
There’s also a shocking turn at the end that I did not see coming. But at the heart of it all is Tash and August’s love—raw, haunting, and eternal. You can feel they’re soulmates.
Morella Moon, you’ve got me hooked. Thank you for this delicious ARC! 🖤
✦ 4 stars “If this wasn't love, I wasn't sure what was. Love was passionate, love was vicious, and sometimes, it could be violent.” Thank you to Morella for this early copy!
💬 This book might be the epitome of "touch her and die." Set in the late '80s, Natasha and August are the the center of a friend group made up of outcast kids. I especially loved Mandy, the spooky, emotionally-damaged bestie.
When August is tragically killed in an accident in front of them, Natasha is shattered. Mandy, no longer able to watch her best friend suffer, leads the group in a ritual to try and bring August back to them. Everything kind of spiral to hell from there - quite literally.
The cover is adorable and really gave me Vampire Kisses vibes (I would've picked this up in a nanosecond if I saw it in a bookstore) but I was surprised at how dark it got! But I loved how hard it leaned into that. This book never preaches or moralizes. It's unapologetic and a fun, quick read.
I have to say, this one was a first for me. What I mean is that this is the first book I've read where the MMC was no longer fully with the living. Having said that, I need to let you know that I enjoyed it thoroughly. In fact, I REALLY liked it (who knew?). August's dark and sinister side that was checked by life (literally), in death was unleashed. He becomes almost morally black, but if you think about it, these civility are for the living. If I had darkness in me that I held back for the sake of society, I would throw caution to the wind and do whatever I want in death. Anyway, this was such an interesting take on a dark MMC and his relationship with a woman he loved, obsessed with, and possessive over both in life and death. The spice was quite interesting too. I just loved this one. Highly recommended.

First, i am so cratefull that i got to be part of this arc team, this is beyond what i ever wanted! Thank you so so so much! Okey what!! I read this in one day ’cause just could not put it away! Such a good story and such a good writer! Main characters were absolutely amazing! So funny, vivid and mandy was awesome! Well devin was not funny or anything positive, did not like him at all and he got what hi deserved! This story was so unhinged that i absolutely loved it! Haven’t read this type of story! And the ending was so good, so so good! August really really loved her and they were such a good couple! I kinda want that The spice was there too! Oh my that spice, i just loved that too! This book truly had nothing bad about it! I am just speechless how good this was! Can’t wrap my head around it!
This is my second book by Morella Moon, and I don't know, but it just didn't click. I didn't like this one like I thought I would.
I thought the plot was interesting, and the writing is good. However, I just couldn't with the characters. I found Mandy to be the most interesting character of the book, and maybe she deserves her own book and HEA. I hated August, from the first to the last page, and Natacha was just a big NO for me.
Pick it up if you like: - Romance but on the darker side (open-door) - Will 100% kill for you (and kill you if needed) MMC - Music - Witchcraft and similar vibes Remember to read the trigger warnings, you might need it.
I received an e-ARC of this book from the author. Thank you for the opportunity. This review is my own, and I'm leaving it voluntarily.
✨ Horror Romance ✨ Touch Her and Die 💀 ✨ Witchcraft and Dark Magic
Horror Romance might be my new favorite genre. This book was a wild ride! Full of love, grief, revenge and dark magic rituals, this book grabs your attention and doesn’t let go.
August and Natasha have a love that transcends even death. I loved how emotion was displayed in this book. The grief was intense, as was the anger. The desperation to hold the one you love just one more time had my heart clenching.
I would have preferred to see more witchcraft used – especially in the revenge portions. That would have kicked this up to five stars for me. The revenge was still fairly satisfying, I’m just a sucker for magic/witchcraft and think it would have been cool to incorporate it further in this way.
With spice that’ll make you blush and a horror x romance vibe, this book will be on your mind for days!
The beginning was a little disorienting, not knowing what these characters were doing but it's a faster moving story. I had a hard time believing Tasha would start a relationship with the other friend Devin only months after the love of her life passed.
The plot points felt like ideas that weren't fully fleshed out, just markers to be met in the story. I didn't like Tasha, she went along with giving "transactional" blow j0bs to a guy she didn't want to be with while she was trying to resurrect her love? The villain was easy to spot right away. Meh, just wasn't for me and couldn't finish it. The writing style needed more development and it could've ended being a really great story.
This one just wasn't for me. I was totally ready for a dark steamy zombie revenge story and in a way I suppose that's what I got? But at times it felt like Natasha had swapped one abuser for another.
I honestly almost DNF after Natasha "comes to the realization that the way August has hurt her isn't from hate but from love. It definitely gave me the ick and I found it very hard to get into the book after that.
There was also a lot of very repetitive language in the descriptions/reactions (i.e. if I wasn't dead, I'd be able to blush)
Truthfully, I think I was more interested in her friend's storyline, who had been talking with a convicted serial killer.
"I'm gonna live forever" August said with a smile. A zombie romance with revenge unaliving, spice a plenty and a saucy romance to boot. When August is hit by a van and killed, this tight knit group of friends use a resurrection spell, takes time to work. Tash begins a detached relationship with Devin, who belittles her and brings her down for grieving the love of her life. Twist and turns you don't see coming once August and Tash are reunited and undead, together forever. Revenge, love, and an ending you definitely won't see coming! Loved it all!
"she's my home, my temple, my sky, she's my everything" 🖤
4/5⭐
I received an ARC copy of this book in return for my honest review.
A true definition of touch her and die. I'm obsessed!
I have one criticism if you could really call it that and that's it wasn't long enough! I need more!
I need more August and Tasha and their pure devoted love for each other. A love so true they'd bring each other back from the grave and kill for each other (quite literally 🤭)
I completely devoured this book and you should too!
This book was such a page-turner! What intrigued me to read Fatally Yours was the idea of a boyfriend being brought back from the dead by the fmc's friends after seeing her in deep grief following his death. Following his revival, August, the boyfriend, takes Natasha, the woman he loves, on a journey of revenge against the people who wronged him. The plot kept me on the edge of my seat. It was so exciting and thrilling that I kept wondering what would happen next.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed reading this book! A love story with a deathly twist! The perfect couple have their futures stolen from them when the MMC suddenly dies, but there's no way on earth he's leaving his girl behind! I loved the characters, the spice and their ultimate revenge! They certainly didn't leave any prisoners behind, and everyone who'd ever crossed them was made to pay! My favourite part of the story was the graveyard bit 😉 What a wild ride!x
This was a very unique story and I absolutely devoured it. I loved all the themes of living forever and getting revenge. I never knew where this was going but it just kept going up and getting better. I loved how August deals with anyone who dares disrespect his girl and how we watch Natasha accept her situation and flourishes. I’m super excited to read future books from this author. So if you are looking for an afterlife romance revenge story or just something unique to read GRAB THIS BOOK!!!
I did not expect me to crave more of this book! I need more of this in my life, on my bookshelf! Natasha and August had that “touch her and die” going on which I LOVED! Mandy was definitely the oddball but loyal friend, which was perfect for Natasha throughout the story. And the playlist?! It was a complete vibe for me and set the mood for the story! Thank you for the opportunity to be an ARC reader!
An undead MMC, a killing spree, revenge, unhinged love story. A version of Romeo and Juliet if Romeo came back to life and slaughtered everyone who did Juliet wrong.
This book was so unhinged and chaotic in some of the best ways. It had my jaw dropping, teary eyed and gaping like a fish from the chaos.
if you're into heavy revenge killing and black magic rituals this book might just be for you.
I truly loved and honestly cannot recommend this story enough! Reading this story Felt like I was watching a Warn bodies Horror Movie 🤣 IDK how to explain it but it was really good and I like how Obsessive August was over Natasha really Touch her and 💀Vibes. There wasn’t a lot of spice in this story but that did not stop it from being Dark, Unhinged, And Spicy. Highly recommend to a dark romance or horror romance lover.
When August is murdered Natasha does a forbidden ritual that ends with a horrifying twist. He comes back consumed by vengeance and wants to exact revenge on those who wronged them. I enjoyed reading this story of danger, drama, suspense, evil and a strong love. This is a new Author to me and she seems to be a fairly new Author. I see she has another book out I would like to read. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
