The Boy Who Stayed

Rate this book
She ran from the boy who broke her. She never expected to fall for the man who stayed.

Six years ago, Lavina Schwartz walked away from her Amish life—and from God. Betrayed by the boy she trusted most, her faith crumbled, and the home she once loved became a place of painful memories.

Now, her father’s stroke calls her back to Kingston. The town hasn’t changed—but Lavina has. She wears Englisch clothes. She carries doubt like armor. And she wants nothing more than to do her duty and leave again.

Until she meets Aaron Miller.

A quiet carpenter with a steadfast heart, Aaron has been helping Lavina’s family through the hardest season of their lives. He’s kind. He’s steady. And his faith hasn’t wavered—even when life has given him every reason to walk away.

Lavina came home to care for her father.
She didn’t expect forgiveness.
She didn’t expect healing.
And she certainly didn’t expect a man whose quiet strength might lead her back to everything she thought she lost—including her faith.

Will she risk her heart again in the place she once fled?
Can love—and God—truly meet her where she is?
Or will she leave Kingston behind… one final time?

Find out in this clean, faith-filled Amish romance about second chances, forgiveness, and love that never lets go.

a few problems

The main problem I had with this book was the phrase “Mei Gott” that the heroine kept saying over and over. I wonder if the author realized that no Amish person would take the Lord’s name in vain. There were several other problems, but I won’t go into those now. Story was good, just needed to be proofread better.
