Following in the tracks of the second book ‘Model Railway Project Manual 2’ I have published my third book ‘Model Railway Projects Manual 3’. An absolute must for any Model Railway novice or enthusiast alike. This new book is a collection of the most popular projects used on a model railway layout, and not covered in books one or two, also the most requested by you over the past 24 months. As Brimal has now closed I have referenced other suppliers of most of the products. As some products are unique (until someone copies them) to Brimal you may be directed to the Hobby Shed use the ‘Brimal Products’ tab or the ‘Contact Us’ tab if you need help with anything in the book. Some of the projects have been expanded to cover other situations/products, so it is worth looking up the project in the hobby shed just to check if there are any updates. It includes How to wire a Diode Matrix Route Selector, to how to install an Automatic Shuttle. Many of the projects are DC based but a few can be used on DCC. There are over 65 projects ranging from ‘OO’ Gauge Track Geometry to Wiring a Seep Point Motor, the different ways to use and wire LED’s to construction of a Slow Start & Stop.
Most projects have a Parts List and the part numbers & which is the cheapest supplier. There are a few updates from Manual 2 where I have changed the type of product to use.

One of the projects, lists all the possible switches that could be used on your layout with details of the pins numbered for easy reference, and where to get them at the best price. Another project gives a list of all the possible LEDs available and where to get them. Detailing the colour and the pin arrangements. A list of all the possible point motors and their part numbers from the basic 2 coil solenoid motor to the servo motor.
