I am home, yet it does not feel like home.
The chains on my wrists and ankles are gone, but those around my heart tighten.

Is the world truly black and white, or is it just my vision failing?
Does all food turn to ash, or is it merely my mouth forgetting how to taste?
When the crows call and the moon hangs heavy, does everyone else drown their sorrow in pillows, or am I the only one?

Urai is hell. A kingdom of devils.
Yet hell is my heaven. My dark devil—through these falling eyes—is my angel.

I breathe, but I do not exist.
I exist, but I do not live.

Send me back to hell.

When Kiss Leilani was twelve, she snuck into her older sister's room while she slept to steal one of her romance novels, curious to discover why her sister was always lost in a book. That single act of rebellion created a lifelong obsession.

From that moment, a chronic booknapper was born—one who blossomed into an avid reader and, over time, an equally passionate writer.

For Kiss Leilani, writing has since become more than a hobby; it’s a joy and an integral part of her life.

I don't even think I could write a review for this book. While I was reading it, my heart was broken and fixed and now filled to the brim. God, how can I put down the words that could encompass everything I'm feeling right now?

This book is fucking spectacular. At least for me. The middle part is, I gotta admit, kinda iffy. Made me uncomfortable as fuck. But for the right reason. As it should be.

Oh, I don't know what else to say. You guys are so lucky if you haven't read this series yet. To be able to enjoy it in one go. Knowing that it is a completed series now. And not having that stupid cliffhanger from book 3 hanging and haunting you for weeks. Truly, I have died a thousand deaths since then. The path from there to here is treacherous and excruciating, but hey, at least it's over now. Happy ending. Thank fuck.

Anyway, I know I'm not saying anything pertinent to this book at all—only my feelings. But honey, let me hold your hand in this and say, you at least need to try this series out. It will not be for everyone with how much triggers and dark stuff it has, but dammit, it all worth it in the end. Fucking bliss, I tell ya.

Wholeheartedly recommended. Definitely one of the best series I've read this year so far.

AMAZING!! I'm so glad I waited out the months until the series was complete! This was SOOOO FUCKING GOOD!! Usually webnovels aren't my cuppa tea because it's either never-ending or the story's cringey. Kiss Leilani sure knows how to write a romantasy for readers who enjoy every tag I've added in my shelving.

THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON THE ENTIRE QUADROLOGY.

PAIN. PASSION. AND PLENTY OF DRAMA. You'll never be bored for one second. Love's a given. Things just kept happening like a snowballing avalanche, and I didn't mind. It wasn't cringe or predictably predictable. There were heartfelt moments, passionate and filled with love, yet also pain, endurance, sacrifice and growth along the way. This truly was a story with MEAT.

EMERIEL was amazing in the first two books because she saved the beast and gave DAEMON back his sanity thanks to her innocent kindness and unfailing love for her Urekai King. Despite being poorly treated, she was resilient and tough in her own way. 2 years later is when the story picks up in the last 2 books, showing Emeriel to be hardened and bitter after leaving Daemon. But, Lord Ottai is back in the human realm, determined to bring the Princesses back to save the Grand Lord Vladya and Daemonika himself from once again succumbing to their feral side.

I didn't expect the 2 years time skip but saw it as a necessary evil, giving the characters - mainly the 2 couples in this story - time to mourn and appreciate what they've found and lost. Basically, for old wounds to heal, for acceptance to bloom and to make way for the future.

EMERIEL was even more glorious 2 years later, although it was finally nice to see DAEMONIKA in his human form more than his beastly side. The way the both were always readily making sacrifices for each other, and how the Urekai's cherish their bonds makes one envious.

The last 2 books were focused on healing, reconciliation, lots of wholesome loving and Lord Zaiper's evil scheming.

Side note : I forgot to mention in the first book review that Daemon's relationship with Emeriel is his second chance at love. It's never easy (at least not for me) to enjoy romances where the MMC was once married to a woman he loves very much. It often casts a shadow of doubt whereby the FMC might never measure up to the love of his life prior to meeting Emeriel. LUCKILY the author was able to tackle this situation without creating an "ICK" or "SECOND-BEST" feeling of the heroine.

OVERALL I don't have to tell you more, because you just have to read it yourself! It's really enjoyable and passionate, I LOVE IT! Definitely one worth re-reading when the fancy strikes, and a true hidden gem. Btw, I adore the covers.

After the first book, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the series. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep reading. I’m glad I did because I ended up being hooked and loving it!

I figured I might as well finish this series and you know what? It finally drifted into something vaguely resembling literature. The exploration of SA trauma was a nice surprise, if a little undercooked. First book with no rape - shows that the bar was truly on the floor. Weird side step into breeding kink territory but you know what, it’s a kink that keeps the world spinning so I’ll let the degenerates keep that one.
I think the thing that annoyed me the most about this entire series was that the author constantly started the book telling you to leave real world morals and social norms behind.
As if morals are a coat you and shrug on and off at will. I don’t know about you the rest of you flaky bitches, but I am not so easily swayed. I’ve ended friendships over morals, cut of family members. I’m certainly not going to cast them aside for a slavery rape kink book.
I think it’s vital to retain your morals. Social norms be dammed, they differ from culture to culture and are often rooted in patriarchy so who cares.
But morals? Without them, this whole book is forgivable, there is no internal wrestling between the characters, there is no tension because everything is permissible. Real world morals are what make books like this interesting, because they challenge that system.
If I were to leave my ‘real world’ morals behind, then i would see no issue with what the antagonist of this story did. I would see no reason for the love interests to be patient with their partners. I wouldn’t care about the plot at all (which I guess some people are just here for the porn - but I’m built different).
I think there is a really interesting conversation to be had here about consent and coercion but if I were to cast aside my morals and my social norms - how could I have that conversation?
I couldn’t.

With my morals, this story gets two stars - without? It wouldn’t be rated at all.

I really liked this ending…

From the moment I was introduced to this author, back when it was a web-book and you bought chapters, I loved their writing. They have a way with words. And even back then without edits and raw and unfiltered, the writing was still PHENOMENAL!

I loved Daemon and Emeriel. Watching their story from the first trinkling when she was a boy and he was stuck in his beast form. The writing really brought out the connection between them, and sans a couple of OTT scenes here and there, the connection has remained. ❤️

But my absolute favorite in this series was Vlad and Keira. These two rooted themselves in my soul!!! 💛💛💛💛💛
I couldn’t get enough of them on the page, I wanted more. Their hard-fought battle for their HEA, I felt didn’t get quite enough of their own airtime (in my humble opinion). I understand that the sisters are essential to each others’ stories, and more-so Keira essential to the world-building of Em’s, but she always felt like second-best, which broke my heart because I would argue Keira went through so much more than Em. I would have loved to see her own moment in the sun, not as a cliff note in her sister’s story… *spoiler* that birth really bothered me 🤬🤬

I understand the Grand King and his Grand Queen, but I almost with Vlad and Keira had been included as characters, but that they’d gotten their own story, so it didn’t feel like snapshots into their life.

I also felt like the story dragged in places, there was so much that just didn’t need to be put to page, and the whole thing with Zaiper honestly could have been condensed. This story just ended up being four times longer than it needed to be. I found myself scheming through scenes in this and the last book and I think the only reason I got to the end of this one was I was WAAAYYYYY too invested at this point, and needed to see how it ended. It for sure could have edited out a bunch of unnecessary scenes.

That being said, this is truly one of my favorite authors. I loved the books despite the length, and enjoyed the ride with Emeriel and her Grand King. ❤️

P.s. the day of reckoning was music to my ears… when the leopards came to eat it was sweet sweet music, I could almost hear the soundtrack of the centuries of carnage, sweet sweet music… 🎼 🎵 🎶 😈😈

My least favorite of the series

Overall, I enjoyed this series, although it was morally gray—maybe even black—at points. I found the first 3 books very engaging. Unfortunately, the finale left a lot to be desired. In general, I found it lackluster and dragged out.

I’ll be honest, this book was quite boring. I think it was strange that the author had Emeriel and her sister have basically the exact same experiences in this book. Like *spoilers* how both their guys said “I love you” at the same time, they both got pregnant at the same time, and they both delivered at the same time. It was kind of weird. The amount of parallels between the two sisters’ experiences in this book made it seem like the author didn’t care to come up with separate storylines. Maybe it was rushed? I also think it was strange that after building up Vladya and Aekeira’s characters so much throughout the series they would get little to no thought in the epilogues.

Furthermore, while I liked that Emeriel became stronger, for lack of a better word, while she was by herself, I was kind of irritated by how much she cried at EVERY. SINGLE. THING. My favorite scene of hers from the whole series is when she went off at Daemon about how unfair the entire experience was for her (as well) in book 2 or 3. I wish the author had kept some of that fire for her. She was okay in the first half, but after they got back together it was so annoying. I wanted her to have a broader range of emotions. Especially considering how Daemon brutalized her when he lost his mind. I think the author purposefully didn’t put that scene in because she knew it would be hard to get past that as a reader. But, he probably deserves it.

I think if this book had deviated from the s*x as a primary theme and utilized the opportunity to have the characters get to know each other better (via showing not telling), it would have been a better read. Unfortunately, that was not the case, and it left this book falling a bit short in terms of character development compared to the others of the series.

It's been a couple of weeks since I finished reading, and I've struggled to gather my thoughts for this review. Ultimately, it's because I wasn't entirely sure what to say.

I anticipated an epic conclusion to the series, but unfortunately, this final part left me quite disappointed. While I aim to avoid spoilers in my reviews, it will be particularly challenging this time, though I will try my best.

Firstly, I was underwhelmed by the way almost every major mystery was revealed. The answers felt too easily handed to the main characters, preventing them from truly engaging in the discovery process. Despite the author's attempts to portray everyone as intelligent and capable of figuring things out, their minds weren't shown to be as sharp as the author seemed to intend.

Secondly, the way the villains were revealed and captured was a significant letdown. It felt given. Again. I had expected a grand battle or a similar climactic event, but the resolution was entirely different and, for me, unsatisfying.

Thirdly, if my memory serves me correctly from the earlier books, the syren trait in humans was established as somewhat rare, but now there were suddenly so many. While it was nice to see all of the significant characters receiving their happy endings, this felt a bit excessive.

Fourthly, my biggest disappointment was the parallel experiences of both sister pairings. Emeriel and Daemonikai always dominated with their presence in all those events and having more drama around them always. This robbed me to see Vladya and Aekeira's unique relationship and their experiences in those events, always giving them less of everything. This aspect dragged my rating for the book the most.

However, not everything was a disappointment. I was quite satisfied with the resolution of the problems that arose after the events at the end of the third book. The issues presented were logical and executed reasonably well, with the characters themselves actively investing in finding the solutions.

Overall, reflecting on the series as a whole, I must say it was quite satisfying as I liked the story and the idea behind it. However, the execution was uneven, with some elements feeling excessive, others underdeveloped, and certain aspects proving to be major disappointments. I loved the consistently simple language, which made the series an easy reading experience. My overall rating for the series is 4 out of 5, as I did enjoy it a lot, but this final book would likely fall somewhere between a 2.5 and a 3. I'm sorry to say, but the disappointment in several key areas was considerable.

Beautiful Dark Romance Fantasy!

Kiss Keilanie has once again delivered a story that grabs you by the soul and doesn’t let go. Beast of Wrath and Madness: The Soulbound and Her Beloved is everything I’ve come to love from this author. Dark, intense, and raw, yet always laced with the promise of healing and light.

What stands out most to me is the way Keilanie crafts endings. No matter how brutal or twisted the journey gets, she gives her characters the love and peace they deserve. Both main couples finding their happy endings made my heart so full. And it wasn’t just about the central romance Keilanie made sure the FMC’s friends also had their own emotional closure. The male friend who supported her through it all finds a second-chance bondmate, and being paired with the FMC’s female friend was both unexpected and beautiful. It felt like a reward for the pain they endured, and I loved every bit of it.

That said, the book isn't without its flaws. There are quite a few grammatical errors, missing words (especially pronouns), and occasional misuse of them—but personally, I didn’t mind too much. The emotion and story still came through clearly. The only real hiccup for me was some inconsistency in the lore. For example, Grandlord Vladya was described as a Southerner but he’s actually from the Western clan. It’s the Grand King who hails from the South. Small mix-ups like that did cause a little confusion, especially in such a complex world.

Still, none of that takes away from the experience. The story is gripping, the world is rich, and the emotional payoff is more than worth the ride. If you love dark fantasy with deep soul-connections, layered lore, and light at the end of the tunnel, this book/series is a must-read.

This book was THE BEEESSSST of this series!!!😍🔥🌶️

F*CKING ZAIPER FIINALLYY GOT WHAT HE DESERVED!!! Omg, I've been waiting three books for this agonizingly sweet karma!!! And he got even better than I could hope for!! So long motherf*cker!!!😏🤌

I was so sad for Emeriel's situation following the ending of book #3.. The fact that she had the reflexes of an abused woman stirred some very sad feelings inside of me.. But I couldn't stop reading, I couldn't believe that this woman, who endured so many hardships and suffered so much throughout the books, would not see the end of the tunnel. And lord was I happy with the ending of things! The both of them really deserve each other!❤️
Waiting for Riel and Daemon to finally get their shit sorted out was sooooo long, sheeshhh.. But sooo worth it!
Also, Akeira ending up being Vladya's SOULBOND?!! I KNEWW ITT!!!🥰✨

Sex scenes are 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🤌🤌🤌🤌

A little disappointed with how the things ended with Mistress Sinai.. God d*mn it I would've wanted her to suffer, and good. Though how the things turned out towards the end makes sense. And I am not unhappy with it.

Can I just remind everyone how impressingly good this author is!!! 🤍
**ALL THROUGHOUT THE FOUR BOOKS OF THIS SERIES** She was spot on and fluidly explaining the story without it feeling like it's a lot! This story has sooooo many details and important pieces of info here and there but she explained her story flawlessly and efficiently for you to keep captivated throughout her four books!❤️✨

I want to thank her because she is the reason I started reading again!🥰

I am glad that the end has come.
Unfortunately, the last book in the series is not a bit better than its predecessors.
The closer you get to the end, the more you get the feeling that the story is being rushed to its conclusion - regardless of the outcome, the main thing is to tie up all the loose ends...
The book is full of loopholes, unanswered questions and so on. And again, the author stumbles over keeping to the timelines.
Content:
Totally stupid... The Oracle knows she'll die, if she reveals secrets, yet she tells God knows what, only to end up unable to say some of the most important things and break down...
The only real surprise (but completely useless and superfluous to the story) is Zaiper's living relative, an old acquaintance...
In the end, the resolution of the whole work - the grand conspiracy - only takes a few pages. The enemies are suddenly dead, everything dissolves or is simply forgotten...
And in the end, they all live happily ever after.
Like a big dog family (mating every time the bitch is hot and gives birth to a couple of puppies...).

I have an 8 month old female dog. Since reading this, I've been looking at her with different eyes: maybe she has fantasies like this, or maybe the author was inspired by them? Who knows...?
Anyway, my cute she-dog is going to be spayed soon, so I won't have to deal with remorseful mutts who want to mate her over and over again. And I can tell, she is not always really amused.

A Dark Romance Lover’s Gem! 💎

I had low expectations going into this book based on the reviews and even the authors own trigger warnings but I am very happy I decided to read the book! This was not a horror novel and I don’t even think it was pitch black. It was very dark being that it had noncon, domestic abuse, and violent scenes between the MMCs and the FMCs as well as with other characters. However, the author didn’t mask it. She owned that what happened between the characters was wrong and boy did she make the MMCs grovel. You know it’s enough when the MMC does something reprehensible but over time you find yourself asking the FMC to finally forgive.

This story shows that love can conquer even the most hardened of hearts. It also shows that good will overcome evil. The villain is one of the worst I’ve read. He deserved everything that happened to him. The FMC was one of the strongest and I loved seeing her and her sister’s growth. One of my favorite FMC’s is in the Stronger series and this character is similar. She’s no damsel. She is the key to bring the Grand King to his knees…literally lol.

Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (noncon, small threesome scene, small lactation kink scene, and a few others but I’m no expert lol)

Outstanding Series

Finally a paranormal romance author with writing chops. I enjoy paranormal books (e.g., dragons, werewolves, vampires, fey, you name it), but most of these books are not well written. I continue to read them because I like the genre, but it’s disappointing how poorly written so many of these books are - two dimensional characters, females who make you groan with their antics, poorly developed plots, making baffling transition leaps, etc. This series is engaging, really ties you into the characters, exciting (and not just the spicy scenes, but action packed too), and kept me wanting more. Love the wrap up at the end as well. I will be reading more from this author.

mind obliterating, epic, all consuming emotional ecstasy

This series was undeniably one of the most emotionally evoking heart wrenching diabolically written stories I have ever had the pleasure to set my eyes upon. I am blown away by the intricacies and depth, the complexities, the completeness, such terror and sorrow, and yet wish I could crawl inside this awful horrible world and get closer to it. I haven’t felt such strong emotion In years and I read hundreds of books annually. I cannot express how well written the plot is, the layers, the twists, the heartbreak and horror, yet the profound sorrow compliments the intense ecstasy and joy. This utterly devastated me, and all I want is more

Waiting for more!!!!

Honestly this series pulled me in, I've never really enjoyed book struggled to find ones growing up that kept my interest, very few ever did, but I found myself getting caught up in this little apps and after I finished a long series I started looking for more. This series was dark and twisted but in so many ways it was beautiful and loving. I'd be the first one to jump if you put out another series from this same world possibly one of the other species. There was the perfect amount of spicey with romance, but the action and the drama of the story always leaves you wanting to know what happens next.

This series is my everything.

Oh lord. I’m gonna be in the biggest slump now. I have read all four books in a matter of a week and it’s all I have been able to think about. It was so very good. I found it by coincidence when I saw a TikTok advert about it. When I found it as a book, I knew I had to read it. I’m so glad I did. This book had me in all the feels. I’m so glad all of the characters got what they deserved. The good and the bad. It lead them on the best journey and I couldn’t have been more proud to read something so special.

This was a long one. Did I like where it ended up? Yes. Did I like the whole journey to get there? I guess? There was a lot of deception and fake progress and then wham: a chapter of actual progress. It all felt a little slow at times and then very rushed at the end. But, I like the resolution. Aekeira and Emeriel got the respect they deserved, the partnerships they wanted, and families. And we got breadcrumbs of our side characters and their growth along the way.

This was an absolute whirlwind of emotions. I didn’t want to keep going when things got dark but I’m glad I powered through and got to see all these characters get what they deserved, both good and bad. It was a very rough start and there were parts to the first book that had me wanting to put it down. Not because it was bad just I’m not one to delve in to dark romance books, but this one was so intriguing that I couldn’t make myself put it down.

Great storytelling

I really enjoyed this series and the characters. There were parts, like with the first book, that were a bit repetitive and could have used some more editing, but overall I enjoyed the vibe and I give my stars based on that. I really loved the multi POV’s, even the villains ones that let you get into their twisted and hope for their downfall even more.

Spicy,seductive, sassy and climatic

I started reading this book on one of those jumbled, horrible, free websites. Buy the end of book one i bought the series for Kindle. This story from book 1 until 4 is filled with every emotion under the sun and then some. Lust, love, betrayal, grief, anger, pride, it's the whole enchilada.

(2.5) DNF. The story started to feel like it was already over—everyone’s paired off, pregnant, and it felt like the author was just dragging things out. The pacing slowed way down, and I couldn’t stay interested. That said, I actually enjoyed the series overall, even though the writing could use some work. It just lost its momentum for me in this one.

Because my sister demands a review... you only get one for this 4 book series. The first two books are definitely dark and triggering, especially since their are mystical beings involved. Books 3 and 4 calmed down a LOT, in my opinion. There were some graphic, triggery moments, but definitely not as much as the first 2.

Soulbound

Just finished the last book in the series, and while the stories were long, the humor, sadness, desperation and fear were all palpable. I laughed, cried and was horrified in equal parts. This was a different type of shifter book, original and gripping. The characters were equal parts lovable and funny.

Highly recommend reading.
