OMG, this book was so good! I loved it! Thank you Yajna for the advanced copy ❤️‍🔥
I enjoyed everything about this story. The FMC, Nora with her quick mind and sharp tongue was amazing, I loved her first person chapters and her mitty personality.
The amnesia, the running, the trials, the uncertainties about everything.. then Rhydian Dravenor appeared with all his fire and doubts. And between them both was Zyan Dravenor, the big brother, with emotional problems and a heart as cold as his Kingdom.
With a lot of secrets, complicated turns and unexpected developments, this story had me hooked the whole time!
And I really loved how it ended and the "standalone of the book", although I'd love to read a second part, with another complicated romance..

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

4.5 stars for me! Oh my gosh, I had so much fun reading this! Nora, our FMC, is SO sarcastic I immediately fell in love with her. She made me laugh MULTIPLE times and just brought the whole book up a level for me. And two hot dragon kings? Please, say less. This was an easy read in the best way. The plot felt liked it was paced well, and I immensely enjoyed the characters and their personalities. It felt like I was reading about real people with real(?!) fantasy issues. If banter is your vibe, you love dragons (I mean who doesn’t) and vampires, then add this to your TBR!

This was a fun read that I enjoyed! A 100+ year old vampire has been stuck in a laboratory as a test experiment for a century, leaving her with no memories of her past. She finally escapes, hops on a boat, and leaves the Iceland to go to the Fireland for a fresh start.

There, she meets dark and broody King Rhydian, and together, they work to unravel her past and stop the Iceland king, King Zayn, from recapturing her and continuing to use her for experiments.

Overall, I loved the plot of this and found most of the FMC’s sarcasm humorous. One thing that I didn’t quite understand was that she had been secluded in this test lab for 100 years, but still made pop culture references as though she’d been out in the world all that time. I feel like a character who is a century-long science experiment with no memories would need to re-acclimate to the world and figure out what the heck is going on if they were in that situation!

I am obsessed with The Vampire Diaries (it's my favorite show) so I loved all of the TVD vibes!

If you haven't read Dravenor or any of Yajna's other books, you need to RIGHT NOW, because they are AMAZING!!

Nora knows relative few things about herself. She knows she is a daywalker: a vampire able to eat human food and stand in the sun. She knows she's about 100 years old. And she knows she's being horribly mistreated as a test subject in an institute overseen by ice dragon king Zayn Dravenor. When she escapes to the Firelands, ruled over by Zayn's brother Rhydian, she finds herself welcomed with surprising speed. And the sparks that fly between her and the fire dragon shifter are hard to deny.

But there's more going on. Nora is having flashbacks to her past life, and they seem to indicate a history with both Zayn and Rhydian. Moreover, there's some other power at work within her: something that sets her apart from her vampire kin. When the truth is revealed, though, it could tear apart two countries, and the relationship she's built with Rhydian.

Dravenor has its moments: there is clearly a lot of care and love put into it. But it feels very much like a first draft rather than a finished book, and one more keen on packing in romantasy tropes and quotable lines than developing the lore of this world or its characters. For example, I was constantly at sea on what exactly this fantasy world is. Is it an alternate version of our world with extra continents? While there are modern medical facilities, little is done to establish much beyond a generic fantasy tone. Meanwhile, Nora references Barbie, Oscars, and Frozen; she wears quippy vampire tees and ripped jeans; but this seems at odds with her surroundings rather than an extension of them. Too, there's a great deal of time spent establishing Nora as constantly sarcastic, to the point of being tiring and borderline unlikable. The fact that her reasons for being this way are never explored is a shame, as it could open up a wealth of compelling character development. As it stands, Dravenor speeds through much of its story, giving us little time to get to know or even like its triangle of protagonists. With another draft, this could become something truly beautiful and heartwarming.

This book is everything!! Nora is the sassiest FMC I've ever read!! The wit, the banter, the sass, the attitude! And don't be fooled, because she's also smart af. I feel in love with nearly all the characters - especially Verric and Saraiah. The tension between the brothers as well as Nora's terror and determination are palpable. This is an incredible story full of romance, adventure, magic, betrayal, love, loss, and redemption.

The plot twists in this book were even better the second time around (I was an alpha and beta reader for this book, so I read it twice!). Ramnath has an incredible way of making you believe you know what's going to happen and then BAM you're totally blindsided! THE ENDING of this book was completely unexpected! I was more emotional than I expected to be and MAN Yajna just writes is all SO WELL.

One of my favorite parts of Yajna's writing is that she takes us on this emotional roller coaster and then will break the tension with some banter or wit, and you're left feeling still emotional, but with some hope in your heart. God, she's such an incredible and underrated writer!!!

Read this book!! I swear, you can come hunt me down if you hate it! :D

This book dives into a century long feud that divided brothers and created two kingdoms. One fire. One ice. And at the middle of it all was Nora.

Nora is introduced as a test subject who has been held captive for a 100 years and manages to escape the torture she has endured at the hands of the ice king.

That's all the spoilers you are getting! When I say this book kept me turning pages, I mean it! I read it whenever I had a spare few minutes as I needed to know more. I needed to see what would unravel as I delved deeper into the story.

The trials that Nora was made to endure, the emotional turmoil and the wars that ensued kept me glued! And we can't forget about the heartbreak and gut wrenching scenarios that we were thrown into to!

I felt like I experienced such a whirlwind of emotions and couldn't stop myself from loving characters I expected to hate. It was written so well and if you love a sassy little warrior you will LOVE Nora!

If you want a vampy story that has dragons thrown in and more drama than you can imagine, this is definitely one for you! Unfortunately it's a standalone book but I'm hopeful (hint hint) we may one day get Zayns (fire king) story but I can't speak for the author lol

Is she the key or the downfall to it all?
I absolutely LOVED this book. The story, the characters, all of it! Fire daddy (aka Rhydian) is beautiful, broody and frustrating (IYKYK). Nora is an absolute amazing bad ass FMC. I loved the sarcasm and the sass. Zayn, while he may be gorgeous, he definitely plays the villain all too well. The slow burn is exactly that and it is done absolutely perfect.I loved the emotion that the author puts into the story. I go from crying to laughing to angry to happy. I am all over the place but I absolutely live for it. I love when I’m reading and I can feel what the characters are going through. I am wanting more of these characters. More of their story. I am recommending this to everyone.

Give me a sarcastic FMC any day!

Our FMC, Nora, has no idea who or what she is. She's spent 100 years as a test subject, and is on the run. You would think that this would make her snarky and broody. Oh no....she is sunshiney sarcastic, and so unserious in all of the best ways.

Even without knowing who she is, she is so convicted in the type of person she is and I thought that was a nice twist on a character with such a horrifying past (or what she remembered of it).

This is a story of discovery, passion, tension, and lots and lots of sarcasm. In fact, if you want silly banter, you'll find it in every nook and cranny of this book.

There is such a sweet twist towards the end of the book (which I obviously won't share here) but it changed the whole meaning of the book once you got to it, and to me, it was one of the best parts of the whole story.

Yajna Ramnath built a really in-depth world with so much possibility for more. More stories, more development, more fun.

Every time our girl Nora is fighter who does not know how to take a moment seriously😂 She is the absolute queen of sarcasm and I could not get enough! The story line was so good. Two brothers at war over a human but add dragons, vampires and more! This was such an amazing book! Can't wait to read what you do next! Side note Verric is definitely my favorite! I wasn't certain of what I was walking into when I chose to make Dravenor my next read and now after reading it I am scolding myself for taking so long to pick it up. It has TVD vibes which I absolutely love about it as well as a unique take on Dragons and who doesn't love a good Dragon story paired with a feisty and sarcastic FMC. Nora the woman that you are (even fictional) own my whole heart, possessing a level of sarcasm I highly aspire too. If you're on the fence about picking up Dravenor then I urge you to take the leap because it's beyond worth it.

This book was so freaking fun! It's *almost* like a parody of the romantasy genre but not quite. Lots of cheeky irreverence that is just hilarious and on point! The FMC is the snarkiest, most over powered, badass ever and her quips are hilarious. The MMC is peak growly alpha male. There's a little spice sprinkled in, but not enough to make your grandma blush. Overall just a fun romantasy ride!
