Something does not seem right with Miss Darcy's companion, and so Elizabeth and her friends begin to look into it. Who is the man who shows up for tea?
Mr. Darcy is a loving and faithful brother. When he receives a letter from Ramsgate that is not from his sister, he rushes with all haste to save her from the plot written of by a stranger. When he arrives at the coastal town, the stranger is nowhere to be found, but his sister appears to be safe. What happened?
Elizabeth from America is loosely based on the characters from Pride and Prejudice, although in this take, Elizabeth is not a Bennet, or not completely. Her mother was a Bennet. Her father was from a powerful family with strong ideas about what he should do with his life. Now Elizabeth will dive in to find out exactly where her parents were from, and who she is related to. Her father left her as his heir, which leads to many adventures all on its own. The first six books, all contained in this volume, will take you to Meryton, London, and Derbyshire, where you'll meet with nearly all your favorite characters from Ms. Austen's Pride and Prejudice.
By the end of this volume, you will have a happy conclusion, but the story does not end there. This is a serial series with a new episode out monthly! All are free with kindle unlimited. You'll meet many new and interesting characters, some who are not terribly nice, but always interesting. You will go on adventures, have intrigues, many laughs, and a few cries. Not to mention...romance...always behind closed doors. There is a bit of innuendo, but no spice. Come along on this epic journey! Fall in love with familiar characters all over again.

Got to about 27%, then skimmed ahead to see if it ever got better, but decided I wouldn't go on. There's too much absurdity here to go into detail, and it's not worth my time to do so. I hate to be mean, and I would feel mean about saying even this much, if it turned out it had the excuse of being a debut novel. But it's one of a long list the author has written. Be forewarned, really bad, amateurish writing, little if any editing, overwritten, inconsistent, and unbelievable.

Delightful
An absolutely delightful and adventurous variation inspired by Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice by Cherise Vermillion. I hope they write more because I enjoyed it.

I’m sorry but this is just not a good book. Good premise, but poor execution. The writing is not great and the author uses so much anachronistic language that it completely takes you out of the story. (Attaching a few instances that really stood out.) She also spells Bennet with two Ts and spells Gardiner several different ways throughout the book. It’s also very long winded and repetitive. Editing here is atrocious. Could have been half the length.
I also had issues with how “perfect” Elizabeth is, how wealthy she is, and how she’s immediately accepted by the ton due to her having some kind of great relationship with the royal family despite only having met them once when she was a small child. It’s so incredibly unrealistic. There’s also several mentions of this being her first time in London, but at other times she mentions having been there “last year” or at other times, yet she has supposedly never met her English family before. It’s just weird. There isn’t even a good amount of her and Darcy falling in love. There are other things (like Kitty being kidnapped because Elizabeth refused to dance with someone due to her card being full…) that I won’t get into because there are honestly just too many issues I have with this book. I just do not recommend and can’t at all understand the glowing reviews. 2 stars only because premise is interesting.

Imaginative
While Ms. Vermillion is quite creative, her work is plagued throughout by the use of the wrong homophone and her habit of ending dialogue with a period, followed by the attribution. Along the lines of:
"Now I understand." Said Elizabeth.
She writes in simple declarative sentences, which may be appealing to some readers.
If you are not disturbed by these flaws (and editor, a proofreader, or even some thorough beta readers would really help), you will probably find her stories quite enjoyable.

Elizabeth Russell is the daughter of Thomas Bennet’s sister and the third son of an earl and is from Boston. She is very pretty, smart, very rich, has connections, is well travelled, and is surrounded by love. Upon her father’s death she spends a year in England finding family, roots and romantic love. She constantly saves people from themselves and others. There is almost zero angst and only the occasional bad guy who is dispatched quickly.

one of, if not the best P&P variation I’ve read
Very original and interesting journey to happily ever after for our favorite couple. New takes on the original characters & some new ones too. Well worth the read.
