One viral video. Twelve million views. And a story the world tried to silence. When Leanne Mahoney posted a 60-second video asking a global superstar to tell the truth about her rise to fame, she didn’t expect it to go viral. She didn’t expect the media storm. She didn’t expect the threats, the headlines, or the isolation that followed. But most of all—she didn’t expect to lose everything just for telling the truth. This powerful memoir peels back the layers behind the screen. From childhood trauma to military service, from motherhood to media backlash, Leanne takes readers through the deepest valleys of her life—ending in a public firestorm that tried to burn her voice to the ground. What emerged instead was a story of survival, identity, injustice, and healing. The Depths Beyond My Viral Video isn’t just about fame. It’s about what it costs to speak the truth in a world built on lies—and how many people get trampled in the process. If you've ever felt unseen, unheard, or erased, this book is for you.
I didn’t like the writing style but Leeann said in the beginning that she’s not a writer.
That being said, this book is a testimony of truth. I’m not saying this because I’m mutual friends with her on some app, I’m saying this because she is a VERY strong woman. The trials she had to go through to get where she is today would destroy any other person. Most people would be defeated (which she felt a lot of times) but she didn’t give up and kept fighting.
The world was against her from her viral video. Perhaps that’s how I came across her account. I can’t remember or maybe it was her late diagnosis of autism (which I believe strongly that I am also).
Her story is full of despair and heartbreak. Also full of triumph and love. Of finding yourself. Finding your truth.
I’m very proud of her even though we’re not real friends. I cried the whole time reading her story. I would NEVER have survived.
