I hate cheating. Spoilers below
I couldn't stomach H lying to h while being in a committed relationship and going to his sex club (that she doesn't even know he owns) to play a game called "chase" where all women are put up for a chase, primal play and the host/organiser/H - hunts them down and performs sexual acts on them.
The game was pre- planned, he knew he was going to play it but since he wasn't going to stick his dick in them (this time), it makes it okay acc to him. h is an unknowing participant, that gets put there without consent. He doesn't know she's one of them and doesn't rescue her even after finding out - why rescue? because the rules of the games states all but the winner will be killed.
She gets violated with a sex toy that H controls and in his pov he's performing it on a random women not knowing it was her actually and later when he finds out, he doesn't stop the game. He still plays it, touches ow, while h, from her pov is suffering, scared to death, gets violated with a toy by a random man (it's not non con, fight me on this) and then to win the game and find out it was her boyfriend hosting the game for all those other women.
Hair pulling, Restraints (of entire body), Use of sex toys, Sensory play, Branding, Anal, Vaginal, penetration, Choking, Biting ,Spitting,Rough play, Role play, Self-gratification, Edging, Orgasm denial, Torture, Degradation, Cold conditions, Extreme temperature play, Being hunted for sport Humiliation, Death. --- list of what will be done to them by the host(i.e H). Barely any grovel, she's pregnant so she goes back to him and he gets shot so all is forgiven. The best part, she blames herself and asks him to forgive her for pushing him away 🤦♀️

The way I ATE THIS UP!! I always love Luna's books, but this might be my favorite to date!! The banter between Conan and Hallie is my absolute favorite! I was laughing at so many different parts. And the chemistry between them....sheesh it's so hot that I can feel it while I'm reading! Plus seeing Conan be down so bad had me loving him so much. And to top it off, we get some 'good boy' moments and I was a puddle on the floor! Everything about this was pure perfection for this series!

Arc Review!!!
I’ve loved Luna Mason’s book since I started with Keller and Sienna last year. However I think Conan and Hallie take the cake as my favorite Beneath universe couple! This book is officially my favorite book of 2025 so far. It starts as a rom com vibe and about 45% in gives you all the dark romance vibes. Conan has such unique vibes and he is perfection. The twists and turns are just perfection and really keep you on your toes. The plot is so good and hooks you in from the very beginning. I legit didn’t want it to end. 10/10 would recommend.

I wasn’t expecting this book to be so much spicier than the first one! I LOVED Conan so much (if you like a groveling but unhinged MMC, this book is for you). The dynamic between him and Hallie was amazing and hilarious and there were a few parts with them that I was literally like “oh sh!t!” 😂 I loved the relationship between him and his brothers and how supportive they are of each other. Also, love another badass FMC in this series.

If you love a dark romance MMC who is only soft for one person you NEED to read Ignite. I liked Conan in Inferno but in Ignite he is everything I didn’t know I needed. Dare I say Conan and Hallie are my new favorite Luna mason couple? Their dynamic and chemistry was top tier. I can’t wait to see where Finn’s story takes us next.

Ok. So I knew walking into this book that I was going to love Conan, but this book was everything and more! Ms. Luna Mason ripped my heart out and put it back together with this book and made me love the Quinn brothers even more than I had before! I can’t wait for more!!!

Once again Luna Mason has managed to write a book that is impossible to put down. Her writing clearly shows that this book is something special to her and that she has put her heart and soul into it!
This book has elements of dark rom-con, dark romance and takes you through the entire spectrum of emotions! This makes for a most enjoyable ride!
The book centers around Conan Quinn, the youngest of the Quinn brothers, and Hallie Morris a nurse working for Finn Quinn.
The chemistry between Conan and Hallie is explosive and undeniable from the very start of this book. They both have their demons to fight and together they find a support in each other that helps lessen those demons.
But as with any Luna Mason book things are never straight forward and we are taken for a ride of twists and turns. But its ride worth taking!

I knew I was gonna LOVE Conan. This primal, cage fighting beast of a man. He’s such a big softie. I love it. Plus a switch? *fanning myself* I melt for a ‘good boy’ moment.
Hallie is such an amazing character. She’s so fierce, so strong. Her and Conans connection and chemistry was everything.
I love the Quinn brothers and their relationship.
And Lily. I adore her. Her always sticking up for and having Hallies back. Plus she’s a lil spitfire.
Hot as hell spice, funny af parts that had me giggling so bad, emotional connections and moments that tugged on my heart. This book had it all.

K vond t boek wel oke. Het was heel wattpad achtig en er waren ook een aantal momenten dat ik echt dacht van wtf EN HALLO het boek is bijna 600 paginas op mn telefoon wtf hoe heb je zoveel te zeggen. Eig komt t door mn settings denk ik maar alsnog. En for some reason heb k t in 1 dag gelezen en i was kinda hooked. Wou het drie sterren geven maar aan t einde ging de fmc opeens de mmc whippen op zn ass ofs????? Ze zei nog helemaal bend over alles😟 ruined it for me dus 2 sterren

I devoured this book. It was so good! If you love a Mafia man who is down bad for his woman and wants to be a good boy then this is for you. And trust me when I say Conan is a very good boy! Conan and Hallie share immediate chemistry and there is nothing he wouldn't do for her. I could not put this book down and I have so many highlights. Finn's story will be the next one and I am ready for it. Luna Mason has quickly become an auto buy author for me.

I actually was enjoying the first 50% of this book until the games started. There was some fun banter and, while intense, I didn’t mind how fast they were falling for each other.
The problem was the second half once the games start. I found them to be extremely problematic and against what they were supposed to be representing, per the characters hosting them. Like, why host games where the point it to give woman new lives away from sex work (faking their deaths) where they are involuntarily entered into the games by the people that own them and they are told with complete certainty that if they lose they will be killed. During these games they’re forced to participate in sexual fantasies of the person hosting these games or immediately lose, this game is Conan’s Primal Play themed event. The author talks about consent and implies that sex has been a heavy part of past games, but is it really consent if you think your options are participating or dying? Keeping in mind, Hallie, when entered by her ex unknowingly, didn’t even know that Conan was tied to the mafia at this point, so as far as she knew she was just kidnapped and entered against her will.
The way she took him back was incredibly frustrating after he put her through that, regardless if you view it as cheating, and the final resolution felt forced due to her pregnancy/his injury.
The problem was the second half once the games start. I found them to be extremely problematic and against what they were supposed to be representing, per the characters hosting them. this was SO bad, i cannot believe how many 5 star reviews there are, they honestly had to be bought bc idk how ppl think this was good. I feel bad for the ppl who actually thought this was five stars bc that must mean they’ve been reading shitty ass books. once it got to the hunting game thing plot point i just had to skim the rest, it was literally so random and weird. also its weird how Conan hooked up w/ some of the previous contestants bc they literally thought they were gonna be killed, so idk the consent aspect of that is iffy bc they get a safe word but think if they use it they’ll be killed🤨 so they can’t rlly actually use the safe word even if they want to stop. anyways that whole plot point was weird and unnecessary to me, the author definitely could’ve come up with a better conflict for the couple. also “beastie”?!! 🤢🤮 i HATE that, literally the worst nickname I’ve ever seen, it gave me suck an ick every time I read it.

So, this book had me up until 2:30 am this morning reading until I just couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. So I set aside my day to get back into it thinking I would devour the rest.
This is where having not read the first in the series is to my detriment. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t commented on something’s as my understanding is that they are interconnected stand-alones so the order shouldn’t matter with the exception of some spoilers.
I want to say that over all I liked this story very much and I look forward to reading even more from Luna in the future. Having read 2 of the Beneath the mask series so far I can extend the compliment that the writing skill is improving, namely with the plot composition. My challenge came to the action in Ignite. It fell glossed over and unfinished. I expect that the Decadence Games are more detailed in book one but even with that, each game is different and I was disappointed to not get any details of it except for the first challenge (trying not to give spoilers) which was quick but at least gave us something. The issue is that without the detail the reader has no grasp on the complexity of the games or why they are so ethically questionable beyond being told they are. So then when you have a character pissed off at the situation, it has little beneath her anger.
Now this book is mostly spice over plot so I may be expecting too much as a thriller girlie, but it fell like a hole was there and it made me completely disengage. The good thing was the last 30% did reengage me with the exception of the spice scenes which are really repetitive. For a 520 page book I would have thought I would have gotten more nuanced plot but as written it could have easily been shaved down 200 pages and conveyed the same story.
All that being said, it was a solid Dark Spice Romance that I think folks will enjoy. It comes out on July 18th and you can preorder the ebook now.
