Okay, so The Guardian Tree had me yelling “WHAT?!” more times than I care to admit. Scarlett and Emma are finally back together (cue the emotional reunion), but before you can even breathe, the secrets start coming in hot—like someone’s trying to win gold in Olympic-level gaslighting.
Sabrina Wade does not hold back. The plot moves fast, the tension’s legit, and every chapter peels back another layer of “oh no they didn’t.” Scarlett’s not just recovering from being abducted—she’s solving the mystery of why she was taken, and let me tell you, the answer is not what I expected. Emma is fierce and loyal, and watching the sisters fight for the truth together? So satisfying.
Detective Dalton deserves a shoutout too—finally, a cop who doesn’t mansplain everything and actually helps. The character development is solid, the stakes are high, and the writing? Clean, sharp, and full of moments that punch you right in the feels. If you like thrillers with heart, sisterhood, and secrets that just keep unraveling, you’ll want to dig into this one. Preferably with snacks and zero interruptions.
Wow! The Guardian Tree is the sequel the The Vulture Tree where Scarlett was investigating an illegal adoption plot and got kidnapped to stop her. Now in The Guardian Tree, she is free having escaped her captors in the Vulture Tree and having reunited with her sister Emma puts them both in grave danger. With the help of Detective Jackson Dalton, they begin to discover more and more clues. This book has so many twists and turns you are kept on the edge of your seat to the surprising end. The writing is fluid and flows from beginning to end. You just can't put the book down once you begin! I highly recommend both books, but read The Vulture Tree first! I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
This is book two of a duet and continues here The Vulture Tree finishes off so I highly recommend you read that one first.
Reeling from the events that lead to her kidnapping, Scarlett finally gets the chance to try and get the people responsible.
With the help of her sister Emma, detectives Jackson and Wyatt, they gain some understanding of what happened and along the way find themselves in a new kind of family.
This is a great conclusion to this story about long lost family and fighting against the odds. Loved it!
I read this book voluntarily for an honest review.
OMG this was another great book. It was a page turner and the suspense was so intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. Scarlett and Emma was faced with some emotions feeling with each other and it was literally breathtaking of secrets and mysterious of drama. Will the truth come to a boiled in this moment as the suspense was a twists but a big revealed. This story caught my attention and it was so drama and will her sister being watch over in a moment. I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Trina Jones
This really is a fantastic story. I did not see that twist at all with Scarlett. The part with Uncle Rodger was something else I didn’t see coming. This is very well written story, the plot was so well thought out and written and the characters were all engaging. I cannot praise this story highly enough. This one will stay with me for a long, long time to come. Well done, Sabrina Wade!

The Guardian Tree is the 2nd book in the Vulture Tree series. Emma and Scarlett are finally reunited, and with Detective Jackson's help, they are working together to bring the ones who kidnapped Scarlett to justice.
There are developed characters, some humor, and a good bit of intrigue. While everything was nicely wrapped up. I absolutely hated the outcome for one of the main characters.
I would like to thank author Sabrina Wade for the opportunity to read this Advanced Reader Copy.
The Guardian Tree is the perfect conclusion to the Vulture Tree book series. From the first page to the last, I was thoroughly invested in the characters and praying for the “perfect” outcome. But as with real life, things got messy and went sideways. You have to read it for yourself.
I received this book free from the author, publisher, or other source. My only obligation is to provide a fair and honest review.
The Guardian Tree: The Vulture Tree Series Book 2, my fifth read from author Sabrina Wade. A 282-page domestic thriller. If you like N.L. Hinkens & James Caine you'll like Sabrina Wade. "I received a complementary Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author as they're published. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Oh my word!! I couldn't put this book down riding on the edge from start to finish worrying about Scarlett and praying Emma would find her sister. There's plenty of action, intrigue, mystery and suspense to keep you flipping the pages plus some steamy romance too. Thank goodness I stumbled upon this author's books not one has been a disappointment.
I was given this book as an advanced reader copy. My review is completely voluntary.
This book is a sequel to “The Vulture Tree” and involves the same characters. They are all very well written and feel like people you know. This book is full of suspense and surprises. I couldn’t stop reading it. I kept going over it in my head after I had finished reading. It is an excellent read.
The Guardian Tree: ( The Vulture Tree Series Book 2) Sabrina Wade
I enjoyed both books in this series and a lot happened. Kidnappings, murder, crime, and baby marketing. The Detectives did great work finding the people involved in a corrupt organization and they found love. A great read.
Scarlett and Emma are finally reunited but things are not calm at all. So much happens in this one as it is full of drama, secrets and surprises that had me glued to the end. Just a great story and mystery to be solved as to what is really going on. Really enjoyed the story and characters.
It took me a while to get back into this story, but once I did…it was fantastic! This was SO good!!! Definitely kept me guessing and hooked until the very last page. Will absolutely recommend this one and her first one, The Vulture Tree. You won’t be disappointed!!
I enjoyed this book. I like the characters and their connections. Families can be complicated but you never expect the terrible things they may do to you and others and then justify themselves while you suffer from their choices. This is about the depths bad people will go to keep their secrets from being revealed. A story with love, loss and new beginnings. A new status for the Vulture Tree, the tree, not the book. This continues the story immediately following The Vulture Tree. You need to know what happens to Emma and Scarlett. You’ll enjoy it.
