Raelyn and Julian take a chance on love, but can it survive the Demon Games?
Raelyn Bakowski left her town in Raspville, Tennessee ready to move in with her boyfriend—the enforcer demon master Julian Rickelson—and use her unusual gift to hunt demons. Saddled with the Rickelson family curse, Julian is happy to have found Raelyn—now he no longer must participate in the Demon Games alone.
But when they discover Raelyn’s best friend is unable to leave Tennessee a new demon hunt begins, and this time—it’s personal. As the new couple races to find the demon they discover that the stakes have never been higher—friendships, relationships, even their very lives are on the line—because taking a chance on love can be deadly when you’re a pawn in the Demon Games.
Lisa Deerwood is a research scientist who loves to write. She is a multi-genre author that has over 500,000 words in print. Her first book Shopping Brake: Proven tips to stop shopping wrong and start shopping right for a wardrobe you love has helped hundreds of people overcome their shopping addiction and learn to love their wardrobe.
When she isn't writing to help people she's seeking to entertain them, especially with thrilling paranormal adventure served up with a side of action. Demon Aura is the first novel of her signature series The Demon Games.
Lisa holds a Master of Science in Biology, with a Molecular Biology concentration, and currently lives in the United States. When not working on the next book, she can be found riding horses and yelling at inanimate objects during the hockey season.
In book two of the series, embalmer by trade, Raelyn, has decided to move in with demon master Julian, which of course means she's now living with Jason's enforcer demon partner Hineker too, their job to hunt down and destroy demons who threaten the peace and safety of souls in the living realm. Raelyn planned to use her clairvoyant empathic abilities to help them hunt demons. What she hadn't counted on was becoming a player in the Demon Games.
But the game is afoot when she finds out that her best friend Trinity (who is a ghost) can't move....or move on until someone finds her body, as her soul was trapped by demon magic.
And so the quest begins for the trio to find Trinity's body, and the demon Tenoch who killed her. Of course, it wouldn't be the Demon Games if it were that easy....
Without giving too many spoilers away, our demon hunting trio finds all kinds of trouble right up to the very end: army ant demons, past lovers, Lord Tenebris, kidnapping, monsters, flesh eating beetles and more demons to haunt the pages of future books in the series!
One last note: Although Raelyn has her reasons not to like him, Hineker stole the show for me and quickly became my favorite character of the whole book.
1) His characterization of Raelyn as "the Little Hound".
2) tsk, tsk, you're playing with my toy.
3) His droll comments on how it's easier to peel the skin off humans if the body is warmed up first.
4) Loyalty is a fine trait in wives and slaves.
5) I merely ate his soul.
Yeah, all of those just did it for me. Lisa created an awesome demon! 😈
Chills and Thrills! This is my second book in the series and I've become a fan girl! Lisa Deerwood knows how to deliver on the thrills and chills. Main character Raelyn is fabulous in this second book of the series as she fights demons to rescue her best friend Trinity. Trinity, by the way, is a ghost. During the journey Raelyn and Julien are finding the footing in their new relationship. Which isn't easy when evil keeps popping out and attacking! Great story, excellent characters, highly recommend!
This is the second book in a series of three. I love the author's characters, especially the main character, Raelyn's best friend, Trinity - who happens to be a ghost. She's like an excited five-year-old kid. I enjoy the bickering between Trinity and the demon Hineker. This author is full of great 'reveals'. It is easy and quick reading! If you are a reader who enjoys books on demons, this is a series you don't want to pass on!
