Update Review 2/27/26: Rereading my faves because I love them so much and needed a pick me up! The home date is still one of my favorite moments in this series!

Original Review 1/31/26: My favessssss!!! I love them so so so much, and this volume had one of my favorite scenes in the whole series: The house date!! SQUEALS!!

I loved how our leads were able to have some alone time and just chill and have fun together! I think it’s another moment where we can see how deeply these two care for each other and how they really are thinking of one another often. 🧡

The next arc is such a fun one, and I forgot how mixed my emotions were when meeting “The Handsome Guy with Red Hair" because I thought he was really kind too, only to second Momo that it was pretty crappy what he said to someone. 😛

You can definitely sense the jealousy that is starting to form and wish Momo got what Ichikura was implying, but I know these two will be okay! 🥰

Can’t wait to read the next volume!!

This is one of those manga that just shoots past my objective assessment and makes me indescribably happy when a new volume comes out. With that in mind, I will now describe how happy it makes me.

Genuinely, I think this is one of the best ‘couples dating’ manga I’ve read. I think my perennial favourite, You Got Me, Senpai!, is better in terms of its sincerity, but this one is certainly its equal in terms of romance and a general hoot besides.

Partly it’s because both these leads are interesting. Momose is constantly feeling inadequate after the awful junior high experience she had, but she tries so hard to be better. Also, she is all over Ichikura like a rash. I appreciate the amount these two give in to their hormones.

Ichikura is rough and tumble, albeit reformed (until he isn’t), yet he dearly loves Momose and you can tell from every interaction. I mean, minus that face grab from a volume or so back, but it turns out he comes by it more honestly than you’d expect.

Anyway, this is wonderfully silly at times. It’ll take a harder heart than mine to not get a laugh out of Momose literally saying the “word” ‘BA-DMP!’ at one point. Not in reference to Ichikura either.

Between lip balm consumption and Momose’s desire to see Ichikura in women’s clothing, there’s a plethora of shenanigans afoot this entire volume. The denouement to the first chapter is hilariously cute.

It’s all the little touches that make this work as well as it does. The way Momose leans when she’s playing a driving game is something I have seen so many times before, for example. There’s just an endless supply of chemistry with these two.

So much so that I even like the ridiculous rival storyline we’re going into. Largely because it’s even more irrelevant than usual, enough so that I suspect it’s partly a set-up for a gag anyway. But these two aren’t going to be torn apart by anything.

Despite my misgivings for this trope, I had many a hearty chuckle because Momose keeps accidentally doing things that make her super appealing to this guy. He’s kind of an idiot, and she tells him so, but her innate niceness makes her more popular than she suspects.

The knock-on effect is to also drive Ichikura insane with jealousy. Well, he seems to trust her, but he has a better handle on her charms than she does, which frustrates him to no end as this other dude is constantly showing up in her life. I actually burst out laughing when he delivered that ‘take out the trash’ line.

This is a heady mix of superb romance and many, many delightful moments. The manga club even scores big bonus points by using Ichikura and fellow former delinquent Igurashi as models for various poses; they absolutely know what they’re doing.

See, when I can go on about how much I enjoyed so many scenes in this one, that’s how we know I was thrilled with it. We didn’t even cover Momose encountering her old bullies, but it’s a good moment and Ichikura later turns into a great one.

5 stars - Probably more of a 4, but I have basically zero chill for this series, or whatever we say these days. We have two people who are amazing for one another and dopey in love and it is a fantastic time almost every volume. It made me just purely happy the whole read and that’s a rare treat.

We have a finish to our confrontation from the last volume. The start of the always present school festival. Girl wants to see her very manly man in women's clothing... I get it . Love that for her. Introduction of OM drama which I love cause he isn't getting annoyed with her just doesn't like the other guy. But I am not sure cause girl is acting.... grrrrr that's all. I loved it again, these are so easy to read.

I always love a house date in manga. I also love when the love interest takes care of the main character when he or she is sick (I wonder if that will happen in this manga, it's used me in lot's of older series and I never got tired of it). Momose sure attracts lots of delinquents, whether they're male or female.

I've been reading Yona of the Dawn in all of January and so far this month, so it's a little jarring to read something that's more lighthearted and also set in the real world. That could be part of why I might not have given it 4.5 stars.

Overall, I enjoyed it, but it felt like I haven't read this series in forever even though it has only been a few months, but that's probably because of the stuff I've been reading in the past few months.

Continuem amb una dinàmica de parella al més estil muntanya russa, preparació del festival i aparició d'un rival... S'abusa massa de clixés, la història no dona més de si :(
