He thinks he dislikes her. He has no idea she’s the woman he’s falling for.

I’m Violet Harper — hopeless romantic and firm believer in the universe’s timing.
So when I stumble across FYS, aka Find Your Soulmate, a matchmaking website that promises to find your perfect match, it feels like destiny calling.

What I didn’t count on was being matched with Rowan Teager. Reclusive, selectively mute, billionaire — and the one man in our small town who seems entirely immune to my sunshine. To my face, anyway.

But behind the anonymity of a screen name, we are two opposite strangers falling fast and completely for each other.
The night we’re finally supposed to meet, I end up in a car accident instead. I wake up with a cast on my arm and every memory of my past wiped clean. Including him.

Working through my amnesia, I fall for Rowan all over again — this time not just the man behind a screen name, but the real, quiet one.

In the safety of his home, we start building something real.

But Rowan is convinced that his selective mutism and his silence make him wrong for me. And no matter how loudly I fight for us, he keeps choosing his fear over our love.

The question is — will he choose it over me?

This book had me completely wrapped around its finger.

What started as a sweet soulmate romance turned into one of the most tender and emotional love stories I’ve read in a long time. Rowan and Violet felt like two people who had spent so much of their lives feeling misunderstood, and seeing them find someone who truly saw them was incredibly moving.

Rowan absolutely stole my heart. He is quiet, thoughtful, and carrying so many insecurities, and my chest ached watching him struggle to believe he was worthy of Violet’s love. Violet was his perfect match. She is bright, affectionate, and endlessly patient, and I loved how she kept choosing him even when he tried to push her away. Their connection felt so genuine, and the amnesia storyline made their journey even more emotional and heartfelt.

What I loved most was how soft and intimate this story felt. The romance is built on quiet moments, deep understanding, and a love that goes far beyond words. Add in the cozy small-town setting, Rowan’s wonderful family, and one scene-stealing dog, and this book became something truly special.

It left me with a full heart and the kind of book hangover that only the very best stories can give.

Huge thank you to Vikki Jay & The Author Agency for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨

This book was unlike any other I’ve ever read. It took me longer to read it because I truly didn’t want it to end. Rowan’s story has been long awaited and boy was it perfect.

This was a beautifully written story about a man who believes he belongs hidden away and a vibrant woman who’s been told she’s too loud. Together they are perfectly imperfect. Rowan has selective mutism so communication can be tricky. He and Violet get matched by an online dating app. They get to know each other until an accident takes away her memories.

I’ve never read a book with a main character who has selective mutism. There are so many ways we can communicate other than speaking and I loved the way the author explored this. I could not get over the way Rowan was so patient and loving with Violet after her accident. In turn, she always met him where he was. She refused to allow him to stay in the shadows. I teared up many times reading about Rowan’s anguish. Violet was such a wonderful ray of sunshine and it made me so happy to see Rowan finally find someone who loves him for who he is.

This is definitely a favorite read for me this year!

It is one for the ages. Vikki almost got me in tears.
Violet and Rowan are indeed perfectly imperfect soulmates. I love them so much.
I hope to one day find the person for me.

Imperfect Soulmate is an incredibly satisfying romance novel that understands exactly how to deliver an emotional story. Vikki Jay proves that she can balance a glamorous billionaire setting with a deeply grounded story about vulnerability and healing. I was hooked to the story from the very first chapter. The pacing was natural and the dialogue is engaging, making it nearly impossible to stop reading. I found myself constantly wanting to read more to see the next emotional breakthrough. I really wanted to make this review sooner but I was on an extended vacation T.T

The chemistry between Violet & Ro / Purple & Night layered and earned rather than rushed. It wasn't insta-love or something that has no foundation. I love how she always started the chapter with a snip from Purple and Night's conversation online. I originally thought I'll be confused with their online conversation and the actual rowan and violet convos but thankfully I wasn't and it was all thanks to Vikki's way of writing. I especially appreciated how the story embraced how imperfect, vulnerable both leads were. I was able to relate to their imperfections, all their conflicts (internal or not) felt rooted in genuine fear and insecurity rather than forced drama. The internal growth and healing was just as compelling as the romance itself, with the quieter moments of honesty carrying as much weight as the larger scenes.

The story itself had a really good balance of playful banter and emotional moments. I honestly enjoyed watching their trust slowly build over time and seeing their walls come down little by little because it made the ending feel more satisfying and real. One thing I really loved about this book was how it showed that love doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful... it just has to be honest and genuine. This was also my first time reading a romance with a character like Rowan, who has selective mutism, and I really appreciated the way it was handled. It never felt disrespectful or exaggerated, instead it felt thoughtful and human. Reading this book honestly made me more aware of the condition, and I also found myself learning from the way Rowan’s family and the people closest to him treated and supported him. I also liked that the supporting characters weren’t written as perfect people either. Everyone had flaws, emotions, and moments where they messed up, which made the story feel more natural. If you enjoy a sunshine vs. grumpy dynamic with real emotional depth, chemistry, and tension that keeps you hooked, I’d definitely recommend this one. To be honest, this was actually my first Vikki Jay book. I only realized while writing this review that it was part of a series, and now I definitely want to go back and read the rest because I ended up enjoying this book way more than I expected.

A huge thanks to Vikki Jay for allowing me to receive an ARC access of Imperfect Soulmate. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my honest opinion and reaction to the story.

"Maybe becoming someone new is a small price to pay for the kind of love that rewrites everything." It's a line from the prologue of this amazing new book by Vikki Jay. It stuck with me in the beginning when we met our two MCs - Rowan, the selectively mute billionaire who eschews social interaction because he fears he's not enough, and Violet, who unapologetically wears her heart on her sleeve but has always been told that she's too much. The line stayed with me while reading their dating app questionnaire responses - both desiring acceptance from a partner for their true selves. And then, during their conversations leading up to a failed first date, a night that ended tragically, I started to realize that the quote could be taken literally - she becomes a blank slate after waking up in the hospital with amnesia... But I think there's more to it under the surface.

Both of our characters change each other through steady, patient, love and care. These actions, from revised responses from Rowan in the form of the most tender love letters, to the way she learns to interpret his silence, attempt to change both characters' beliefs on a fundamental level regarding who they need to be to deserve and receive love. But accepting this new outlook isn't always easy - especially for Rowan. And trusting love to stay is frighteningly new for Violet, who has lost so many people she's loved.

This is the kind of book that reminds me of why I fell in love with the romance genre in the first place. It is not only a beautiful story, but the writing flows in gorgeous prose; weaving a story that will stay with you long after you read the HEA. This book will make you force your book bestie to move it to the front of their TBR so that you have someone else to unpack all of the residual emotions with.

Note: The situation with the rescue dog gutted me. There is nothing graphic on page, but just knowing what Echo had to go through to find his forever family had me bawling my eyes out. It is something to be aware of going in, but shouldn't keep you from reading this wonderful book.

This story is an incredibly sweet romance, and I found myself constantly wishing there were more pages to turn. At the heart of it all is Rowan, the absolute definition of book-boyfriend material. Learning the history behind his mutism is utterly heartbreaking, and my heart genuinely ached for him as he wrestled with the deep-seated insecurity that no one could ever truly want him because of it. His emotional journey feels especially raw when he pushes Violet away, convinced he does not deserve her love. Even without words, his actions speak volumes, and the letters he writes as he opens up to her are enough to make anyone emotional. The weight of his guilt after her accident was particularly devastating, knowing his insecurities played such a large part in the lead-up to that moment.

Violet is the perfect balance to Rowan’s quiet intensity: wonderfully chatty, relentlessly optimistic, and a bright spark throughout the narrative. I loved that even after she discovers the truth about what happened before her memory loss, she does not waver. She remains completely willing to show up and fight for him, proving their connection is deeper than surface-level attraction. While she was a joy to follow, I did find her friend, Elodie, frustrating at times. Her constant negativity about Rowan while Violet was in the hospital felt grating, and although it is clear she has her own issues to work through, it only made me more protective of Rowan.

The supporting characters really round out the book’s emotional scenes, especially Rowan’s family. His twin brother Archer is fiercely protective, which becomes even more touching once you understand the trauma Rowan has endured. Then there are his parents, who are, quite frankly, goals. They are so deeply in love that it is almost sickeningly sweet, yet they also bring a great sense of humour to the story. Their reactions to Rowan’s s*x life, or his perceived lack of one, delivered some of the funniest moments in the book. It is that balance of genuine heartbreak and warmth that makes the story so hard to put down.

Emotional, thoughtful, and surprisingly deep, this wasn’t just a romance about soulmates, but a story about identity, guilt, self-worth, fear, and learning how to truly trust love. You can genuinely feel how wise and intentional the writing is through the conversations, the questions, the answers, and the emotional reflections woven into the story. So many moments felt deeply human and raw. The author is so good!! It’s a slow burn in every sense, but also feels like a second chance romance in its own way, especially once Violet loses her memories and Rowan has to care for her while carrying the weight of everything he believes he ruined. Matched through a soulmate website, little did they know they already knew each other… just not really.

Rowan completely broke my heart. After his accident, he lost his voice and slowly started believing that the kindest way to treat others was by being "less": less demanding, less present, less of a burden. It felt like he had two personalities: the quiet, withdrawn man the world sees, and the softer, vulnerable version only “Purple” truly knew. Guilt consumed him and he truly believed he would never be enough for Violet. And Violet… beneath all her sunshine, she was someone terrified of losing the people she loves and scared she might simply be too much for anyone to stay. Their relationship was built on lies, fear, and hidden truths, which made every emotional moment hit even harder. However, somewhere between the amnesia, the guilt, and the silence, they became each other’s refuge. In the end, they had to choose each other and overcome the fears that kept pulling them apart. And Echo 😭 he completely stole my heart... I'm happy he found his home.

Small town vibes, great found family dynamics, lovable friends, emotional depth, and a soft romance without too much drama. In the end, soulmates may be found in the most unexpected places… and in the people you never expected... almost like a miracle. Enjoyable and satisfying, recommended! (ARC in exchange for an honest review).

This is the third book in the Elixir Bachelor Billionaires, but this only the second book I have read. This book appealed to me because it had the amnesia trope which I love. Amnesia in books usually stirs up so much angst, longing and of course pining for the other person. So I was determined to read this book. It focuses on Rowan and Violet, two people desperately looking for their person so they apply on FYS (Find Your Soulmate), which is a dating app that will match people with 99.9% certainty. So Rowan a twin with great parents has situational mutism using his phone and sign language to communicate with others. Although most of the time he would rather refrain from being in groups of people where they have to stop and watch him sign and have someone interpret. I can imagine that must make one feel very lonely and left out. Now on the converse, Violet while having no family a close select groups of friends is friendly, talkative and sociable. How these two actually match is beyond me. But the best part of this story to me what the questions going back and forth between these two and the questions from the app which were thought provoking. After three months of talking they agree to finally meet everything is great, they are both excited but, when Rowan sees Violet he is hesitant to go in and let Violet see him with “his girl”, he was concerned about gossip. However, he later regrets that because on her way home she has an accident and then suffers from amnesia. Seeing Rowan step up and come out of his shell for Violet after her accident is everything. This book was so emotional and heartbreaking. I love when authors can take characters and give them so much depth and complexities that we feel their pain and cheer them on. Truly an amazing book. I absolutely adored it. I’m eager for Archer’s book now.

I have adored Vikki Jay since book 1 and will always immediately read her books when given the chance because I absolutely love her novels. So it's no surprise that I haven fallen in love with this new addition to her collection!

I love how these two characters connect. To be around your soulmate but not realize it until having the anonymity to truly be yourself? To let your true thoughts and feelings be noticed by a person who feels the same way? To find a soulmate app that actually works? All of it was just beautiful.

The best thing about a Vikki Jay novel is how real her characters feel. They are not flawless. They don't live perfect lives. There are real world issues these characters experience making her novels feel like it would happen in our lives today.

Rowan is so sweet. This man has been through so much and still fights to make his life as normal as it can be with his muteism. I can't imagine what he goes through every day but I love how much he adores his family and friends.

Violet is so full of joy and happiness. Which shows how pure she is when finding out about all of her family members she loves not being with her any longer. She has so much hope. Seeing her lost after her accident was gutwrenching because we all know how much she loves life.

Echo was by far my absolute favorite part of this novel. When Echo and Violet meet? I sobbed so hard. It was the sweetest moment and I was a goner. Yet another fighter in this book that stole my heart!

I am extremely lucky to have discovered Vikki Jay and will be the #1 fan for life because I feel so much whole reading these books. I'm so glad Rowan and Violet and Echo have their story for everyone to read and I know i won't be forgetting this anyone soon!

Slowburning, soul completing, patient perfection. Imperfect Soulmate made my heart ache for Violet and Rowan. These two are a perfect balance between silent and serious and bubbly and optimistic. Violet brings a lightness to Rowan's quiet isolation. He has previously been happy alone so he doesn't have to feel sidelined by his selective mutism. Living in his bubble is curated for his security and means he never feels alone in a crowd. He has a carefully masked arrogance so no one ever sees the insecurity under the surface. Violet on the other hand overcompensates for her loneliness with a bubbly loudness. She is so loved amid her friendship group but misunderstood by those who don't take the time to get to know her.

This narrative feels like a two part story. It begins with two anonymous people falling in love via a find your soulmate dating app. Their chemistry is defined through their words. They form a soul deep bond. Then comes Violet's car accident and she loses her memory. The second part is Rowan making her fall in love again. In person. Where silence isnt the space between messages. It is the real living space between them that they fill with connection and intimacy that is beyond the physical. In fact this book is low on spice. Theirs is a love story that isnt dependent on the physical. This part evolves naturally and involves Rowan losing his V card (oh how I love a male V lead).

I loved these characters and I loved seeing little insights into the 1st gen characters from earlier stories. Rowan and Violet are just so gently perfect together. They understand each other and the emotional insecurities in the other. I loved that the times where I expected angst they found patience and understanding. Such a gorgeous read.

Imperfect Soulmate by Vikki Jay completely stole my heart 🥹✨
Rowan and Violet are the definition of opposites attract perfection. Violet is sunshine wrapped in hope and romance, while Rowan is quiet, guarded, and convinced he’s too broken to deserve love. Watching these two fall for each other twice felt like my heart was being gently squeezed in the best possible way.
And Rowan… excuse me while I melt into a puddle 😭 This man saying so much with so little absolutely wrecked me. His selective mutism was handled with such care, and every moment between him and Violet carried so much emotion that I could FEEL it. The online anonymous connection mixed with the real-life tension? Inject it directly into my veins.
But then the amnesia storyline arrived like a tiny emotional grenade 💥 and suddenly I was aching for them all over again. Watching Violet rediscover Rowan, not just as the mysterious man behind the screen, but as the real man standing in front of her, was beautiful, tender, and heartbreaking all at once.
This book is soft and emotional while still carrying that delicious tension of “will they ever stop fighting their feelings?” Rowan’s fear and self-doubt made my chest hurt because all Violet wanted was HIM, exactly as he was.
If you love: ✨ Small-town romance
✨ Opposites attract
✨ Anonymous online connection
✨ Hurt/comfort vibes
✨ Quiet, tortured billionaire heroes
✨ Amnesia done RIGHT
✨ Soulmate-level yearning
…then this book needs to jump to the top of your TBR immediately 📚💕
Imperfect Soulmate was tender, emotional, hopeful, and filled with the kind of love that fights through fear and silence to be heard. Rowan and Violet will stay with me for a very long time 💛

First of all, special thanks to Vikki Jay and The Author's Agency for allowing me to read this exceptional book as an E-ARC! It was such a wonderful and magical experience! It’s been a while since a book has made me feel so much.

Rowan always caught my attention, having selective mutism only lets me know that, although he does not speak, he has many things to say, but the right person must be there for this to happen. From the beginning, we see Rowan’s reluctance towards Violet because he doesn’t know how to interpret her always wanting him to feel part of conversations and group moments.

And we see even more of the insecurity he has when Violet forgets what they have managed to build. But it’s sweet the way he tries to make her feel good and focuses on starting to create memories that are the basis of their relationship.

This book taught me that love is expressed not only in words but also in gestures, affection, and above all, with sincere actions.

My favorite quotes:
SilenceInMidnight: I'm meeting my favorite girl. Did you really think I'd show up unprepared?

"I'll remember for both of us, Purple... You've always been kind, strong, and bright like a sunbeam, and you still are those things. It's just that some parts of you are hiding right now. But that doesn't change who you are here." He briefly brings his index finger up and points it toward his heart

For the first time in my life, there is a girl who loves me, despite my mutism. And if she lets me, I will spend the rest of my life proving to her that I love her the same way.

Imperfect Soulmate by Vikki Jay was such an emotional and heartfelt romance read. From the beginning, Rowan and Violet’s story felt layered with vulnerability, emotional tension, and the kind of connection that slowly pulls you deeper into the characters’ lives.

Rowan was such a compelling character because beneath his confidence and guarded exterior, there’s someone carrying a lot of emotional weight. I loved watching him slowly lower his walls throughout the story and begin allowing himself to trust Violet. His emotional growth felt realistic, and the quieter moments where his softer side came through honestly made some of the biggest impact.

Violet brought so much warmth and emotional strength to the story. She’s compassionate, resilient, and easy to connect with, especially as she navigates her own insecurities and past hurts. I really enjoyed that she challenged Rowan emotionally while also creating a sense of comfort and stability between them. Their relationship felt built on emotional understanding just as much as attraction, which made the romance feel even more meaningful.

One of my favorite things about this book was the balance between emotional vulnerability and chemistry. Rowan and Violet’s relationship develops naturally over time, and every conversation, misunderstanding, and emotional moment helped deepen their connection. The story does a great job showing how imperfect people can still find healing, trust, and love together.

Overall, this book left me with such a comforting and hopeful feeling by the end. Rowan and Violet’s journey was emotional, genuine, and full of the kind of character growth that makes a romance truly memorable.

Thank you so much Vikki Jay and The Author Agency for this gifted eARC. This is my honest, voluntary review.

Vikki, how is this my first book written by you??? I love the small town vibes and found family energy! This unique read featured a sweet MMC with so many layers I found myself on the edge of my seat having to know what would happen next. The way Vikki wrote Rowan to be so calm and quiet and so multilayered with so many emotions I found myself swooning by his strength and resilience. Violet was a beautifully endearing FMC who is the perfectly imperfect protagonist I love to read in my contemporary romances.

The depth of the plot and characters was so elegantly done, that I am now a big fan of Vikki. I really appreciated the way she opened my eyes to love and its quiet strength - and how love is universal.

Stories like this need to be written and shared, and the sensitivity diligence done by Vikki is clear.

ALSO....I would be remiss to not mention the spicy scenes being so well done. It felt natural and the tension was palpable. Well done Vikki and happy release week! I'm a better person having read your work.

Grab this read if you like...

This sweet romance follows Rowan, who is selectively mute due to an accident, and Violet, who is overly optimistic and talkative. They match on an anonymous dating app. No surprise, when Rowan realizes it's Violet that he's slowly fallen in love with, he chickens out and doesn't go on the date. While leaving said date, Violent is in a car accident that leaves her with amnesia. Feeling a connection with Rowan, she decides to stay with him while she heals.

What I loved:
❄️ Everything. The pace was great. The writing was beautiful; descriptive but not overwhelming. Not just the words but the feelings and emotions portrayed were exquisite.
❄️ Rowan. The depth of his mind and words is boundless. Whether signing, texting, or voicing, if he is communicating I am listening.
❄️ Violet. I am going to strive to be as optimistic as her. I can see why she is such a shining light. Her light-heartedness is refreshing and not overwhelming. Truly, several of the things she said cracked me up and are things I would say.
❄️ Rowan's parents and Echo. We need more people in the world that rescue animals. Also, Echo is the bestest good boy.

What I didn't love:
❄️ As a person who signs, it's hard to believe she learned signing as quickly as she did. However, it did say that she was a slow signer and it didn't flow very well. But it would take a very long time to be able to sign some of those complex thoughts. It doesn't take anything away from the story, just a thing I noticed.

One of the best books I've read. The writing is superb, the feelings are real, and the love is inspiring. 4.5 ⭐

This is the first book of Vikki Jay’s I’ve read and I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It is so beautifully tender I had so many times I had to take a break as it had me in tears but in a good way. Although I full on cried towards the end, the way the author wrote secret reveal was just breathtaking.
Both Rowan and Violet are broken in different ways, Rowan trapped in a world of silence due to an accident, able to hear but not speak normally. Violet searching for something or someone after losing all her family, she is endlessly cheerful, outgoing the exact opposite of Rowan.
They both join FYS an alternative dating agency to match for soulmates. They are matched and start an anonymous chat before their details are given.
The questions they had to answer are definitely not normal but dig deep into their characters and they finds themselves falling in love.
After their arranged meeting goes disastrously wrong Violet ends up in hospital with Amnesia. Rowan offers to let her stay with him so she can convalesce and she agrees as he feels safe to her.
Rowan’s parents rescue an abandoned dog who has had a difficult start and is now blind and unable to bark. They give the dog Echo to Violet and Rowan and he help both of the heal.
After Rowan helps Violet regain her memories he feels she won’t love him. When his twin brother gives him a talk he realises he needs to get over his fears.
When Echo runs off, Rowan finding him gains clarity and when he reaches Violet the reunion had me in tears.
A brilliant book I will definitely read previous ones

Imperfect Soulmate was so beautiful written. Vikki Jay has a way with words, this story had it all. So much emotions, love, family, friends and everything in between.

Violet is such a vibrant, chaotic, so much full of life. She believes in love, and knows her soulmate is out there somewhere. When she signs up for an online dating site she meets the one. Then tragedy comes and she forgets her memories. Now she must navigate everything with the help of friends and Rowan. Who lo and behold is the man behind the screen.

Rowan is quiet man, he loves his family fiercely. The only thing missing is love, so he sign up to an online dating site. Not knowing that Violet is behind the screen. They form a relationship, they get to learn from each other. When the unthinkable happens he step up for Violet.

Once Violet moves in with Rowan, she starts feeling a little better. One has memories the other doesn’t. Rowan lets Violet in, he shares things no one’s even knows about. And it’s beautiful to see how this new found love turns into something special. You’ll see how everything works out when her memories do return. They will work hard for the love they share. And Rowan will have to fight himself to become the man Violet knows he is. This truly was such a beautiful story. You will see old friends and new friends. You will laugh, cry and so much more. I just loved every minute of this beautiful story.

Thank you to The Author Agency and the author for the opportunity to read Imperfect Soulmate by Vikki Jay.

This was such a soft, tender, and emotional romance that felt comforting in a quiet kind of way.

Rowan and Violet’s relationship was built on patience, understanding, and emotional vulnerability more than dramatic chaos, and honestly that made their story feel really beautiful to read.

Rowan is quiet, thoughtful, and deeply caring, but his insecurities constantly make him feel like he isn’t the right person for Violet. Watching him struggle with those feelings while still wanting love and connection made his character feel very human.

Violet was honestly the heart of this story for me. She is bright, affectionate, patient, and emotionally strong in such a gentle way. I loved that she didn’t immediately walk away when things became difficult. She fought for their relationship and continued showing Rowan he was worthy of love even when he struggled believing it himself.

The emotional side of the story definitely stood out more to me than the spice. This felt more like a tender love story focused on healing, connection, reassurance, and choosing each other despite fear and insecurity.

If you enjoy:
💜 Tender romances
💜 Emotional healing
💜 Quiet MMCs
💜 Patient and affectionate FMCs
💜 Online connection tropes
💜 Soft love stories with emotional depth

then this may be a really good read for you.

Imperfect Soulmates is a heartfelt romance between Violet and Rowan, who unexpectedly match on a dating site although they already know each other in real life and are polar opposites. Violet is an eternal optimist. She’s a ray of sunshine, a rainbow, and a ball of energy all wrapped up in one woman. Rowan thinks he can’t stand her. He’s a selectively mute billionaire who hides behind a mask to protect himself. He’s frightened by Violet’s openness and sheer joy as she goes about life. When an accident leaves Violet suffering from amnesia, Rowan must decide if he can allow himself to love and be loved by the last person he ever thought would be filling that role.

This is a beautiful love story. It’s emotional and moving. The chemistry builds slowly, and the moment the tension popped, it took my breath away. I also appreciated this unique disability representation. Selective mutism is not a well-represented disability in popular media. The author handled Rowan’s story so thoughtfully, and his different ways of communicating flow effortlessly with the dialogue.

Plus, there is the relationship between Rowan and his twin brother Archer in this book that made me excited for book 4. FYI, in case anyone is wondering, I would lay down my life for Echo.

Thank you to The Author Agency for sending me this ARC.

Imperfect Soulmate is the third book in the Elixir Bachelor Billionaire romance series by Vikki Jay. The bachelor in this book is one of Zane and Vienna’s twins, Rowan. Rowan has situational mutism resulting from an accident when he was younger. The heroine in this story is one of Daisy’s best friends, Violet.

Both of them sign up for an anonymous Find-Your-Soulmate website and are surprised and hopeful when they are matched with someone and they really start to get to know the other person. They are both looking for someone to love them just as they are and when they realize they have found that person they decide to meet only they never actually meet and an accident occurs changing everything.

On the outside, Violet and Rowan are the least likely pair because of their polar opposite personalities but they know each other through the dating site and while Violet recovers in Rowan’s home and you realize they are the most complimentary pair there is. Where Rowan is silent, his actions and written words speak volumes and Violet treasures that gift. Violet might be considered too much by some but to Rowan she is beautiful, peaceful and his soulmate.

Up next is Rowan’ twin brother, Archer, and Violet’s friend Willow story.

Thank you Vikki Jay and the Author Agency for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback

Another winner in this series. Now Rowan had me a little skeptical in the beginning, but the pure heart of his comes shining through. When an accident causes amnesia for Violet we see a different side of Rowan. My gut just dropped for Violet. I can't imagine not remembering anyone in my life. the utter heartbreak and confusion. This gives Rowan and Violet a chance to really grow close, but is it under false pretenses? I felt the pressure Rowan is feeling waiting on borrowed time to see if this beautiful life he is creating with Violet will blow up in his face. For me the over all feel of this book is a healing one not just for Violet, but also Rowan and Echo. Echo just stole my heart the minute he showed up on the page. He hasn't had the easiest of lives, but he found his home. Rowan faces a lot of growth in this book. I loved seeing his mom and dad living their HEA. The are one of my favorite couples from this universe. I so loved the found family vibes this book gives off. It's so important for Violet. This was a hard book to put down. With Rowan being a selective mute communication looks different and Violet being so accepting of all sides of Rowan just melted my heart especially for Rowan. This is a book the tugs on the heartstrings rather early on and mends the heart in the most beautiful of ways. This book is so worth the read!!

Imperfect Soulmate is a lot like Rowan, steady and quiet but with more going on under the surface. Rowan’s past gives him an affinity with Violet that allows him to connect with her, to give her a safe place to rest while she recuperates. A place where she doesn’t feel like there are any expectations around her getting her memories back. But that same history has left him with doubts about himself and what a future together would mean.

I felt for Violet, having no idea what kind of person she is. Left without any memories of her family and friends, her past or her present. Having to discover herself again, trusting people she doesn’t remember. But she feels a draw to Rowan, one that gives her somewhere to figure things out.

Since I haven’t read anything else by Jay, I’m not sure how it compares to her other stories. It’s a sloooow burn and somewhat predictable, but it is sweet. Once you get to the main part of the story, you pretty much know where it is going to go but I like the way that Jay plays it out. (Love Violet for her bravery!) It’s not overly dramatic and their issues are addressed well, both Violet’s amnesia and Rowan’s concerns, leaving us with a satisfactory HEA.

(Part of a series but I had no issues reading it as a stand alone.)

This book absolutely wrecked me emotionally in the softest, most beautiful way 🥹💛✨

Online soulmates.
A quiet billionaire MMC.
Amnesia.
Falling in love twice with the same person??

Yeah… this book had me completely invested from the start.

What I loved most about this story is how emotional and intimate it feels. Even before Violet and Rowan truly know who the other person is, there’s already this deep connection forming between them through their messages.

And then when everything changes??
When Violet loses her memories??

Honestly… my heart broke.

Watching Rowan love someone who no longer remembers him was painful in the best possible way. Especially because he’s already someone who struggles to believe he’s enough for her.

And Rowan completely stole my heart 🥹

He’s quiet, withdrawn, and so used to believing his selective mutism makes him difficult to love. But underneath all that fear is someone deeply caring, patient, protective, and completely gone for Violet.

The way he loves her isn’t loud—it’s in the small things. The care. The safety. The quiet presence.

And Violet balances him so perfectly. She’s warm, hopeful, emotional, and determined to fight for the connection between them even when Rowan keeps trying to protect himself by pulling away.

The emotional tension in this book is SO good because it’s not based on lack of love—it’s based on fear, vulnerability, and whether Rowan can believe he deserves the future Violet wants with him.

✨ If you love:
• opposites attract
• online anonymous romance
• selective mute MMC representation
• amnesia trope done emotionally WELL
• soft, emotional slow-burn romance

This one is tender, heartbreaking, hopeful, and deeply romantic in all the quietest ways 💛✨

This is a standalone from the Elixir Bachelor Billionaires series.

This book is a mix of amnesia with a second chance vibe. Violet and Rowan are anonymously matched on a soulmate site, but an accident on the night they are supposed to meet wipes Violet’s memory clean.

Rowen's actions are patient and protective. I really appreciated how he treated Violet with respect as she went through her recovery journey with her memory loss. Violet's outlook on life while trying to piece her own life back together was very upbeat, she was always looking on the positive side of every situation.

I did find the pacing slow throughout, it felt longer than it needed to be.

The relationship between Violet and Rowen seemed to be so polite and reserved that I struggled to see them as a passionate couple.

One thing that did bug me, was how Violet managed to become fluent in ASL in a matter of weeks, just from watching some youtube video's. So much so that she could hold fairly complex conversations without any problems - this should have taken her years, not weeks.

Imperfect Soulmate is book 3 in the Elixir Bachelor Billionaires series by Vikki Jay. It can be read as a standalone but you may want to read the previous books in this series and the Elixir Billionaires series if you're one that wants to know all of the characters involved.

This book gives us Rowan's story. Rowan is selectively mute after an accident from his childhood and he believes that he belongs in the shadows. Violet is his total opposite in almost every way on the surface. She is loud, outspoken, and believes she is too much for many people. They both sign up for an online matchmaking service and are matched to each other. They have three months to get to know each other anonymously before they can meet. But after the night of their meeting things go horribly wrong and they have to relearn each other and see if they will still be compatible after all.

This book touched my soul with Rowan and Violet's story. I also loved the questions at the beginning of the chapters because it made me stop and think within myself for my own answers.

I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a slow burn, amnesia, healing, opposites attract romance.

Be still my heart...

I'm writing this review with the biggest smile on my face. This book was just so sweet and heartwarming. I was in a constant state of swoon. What initially intrigued me in the description of the book was the MMC having selective mutism and then the amnesia trope. I loved the way the book was written. Each chapter started off with the matchmaking site they used random questions and the MCs answers, which I thought were adorable and attention grabbing. The MCs Rowan and Violet absolutely stole my heart. I loved their back and forth annonymous chatting as they grew to know one another. I loved how their relationship developed. They got to fall in love with each other twice, and that made my heart so happy. I legit got chills and shed tears with their beautiful love story. The way I was so invested in these characters and their story had my flying through the pages completely devouring this book.

Tropes:
Billionare introvert
Selectively mute MMC
Sunshine FMC
Amnesia
Slow-burn
Online matchmaking
Small-town
Found Family

I was super excited to read this book. I had never read anything by Vikki Jay before. This is book 3 in the Elixir Bachelor series. And let me tell you something once I read this book I went on a deep dive afterwards. I had to read the other two which I did. FYI they're just as amazing as this one. What caught my attention with this one in the blurb wasn't the very beginning it was more towards the middle. It said, "What I didn’t count on was being matched with Rowan Teager. Reclusive, selectively mute, billionaire — and the one man in our small town who seems entirely immune to my sunshine. To my face, anyway."
This book was an absolute wild ride or I thought it was. Rowan is a very reclusive laid back man. Violet is a very bright sunny sweet woman. She thought that Rowan didn't even care for her at all. But boy she was so wrong. I absolutely love the character development and the way that the book was written. Everything was absolutely phenomenal. Which is what push me to read the other two books in the series because I was just blown away. Now I'm sending over here waiting to see how the series continues into book 4.
