HIM
We didn’t have a chance to keep things professional – we’d already crossed the line, But now that I’m in charge of Hailey’s safety, I know it can’t happen again. Any distractions could risk her life, I can’t give into temptation again, Only problem is, it might already be too late…
This was surprisingly good for what I expected given the title. I feel like this author is wasting their talent on these throw-away title teaser books and has the potential to be really good, but maybe she's making more money this way, IDK.
The characters had a lot of personal voice and sincerity. Honestly it would have been 4.5 stars if the ending hadn't been so rushed and out of character. The pregnancy angle as a whole kinda ruined the storyline for me and made their romance feel less powerful. I really enjoyed the first night they met and I did feel like they had some instant chemistry that was fun to read about. There was pretty realistic insight into things about the entertainment industry I wouldn't have even thought of either, like the dancers needing to hit certain spots so they don't void their insurance. After reading an AI written book, I realize it's these little details that make decent human written work so much better. I liked how the H's dad was a realistic depection of a flawed person, but a loving caring father. You ended up liking him despite yourself, even though he doesn't have a lot of page time and clearly has his issues. Even though I really dislike the way the H responded to news of the pregnancy, it was great to see him talk to his dad as an adult and get adult insight into the way things really went down and all the things he didn't know about his parents and his parents' relationship. I think this is something we all go through at some point in our adult lives, gaining an adult perspective on our parents and seeing them for the humans they are instead of the god-like pedestal we often put them on and the high standards we hold them to because we've put them on this pedestal. This was the kind of thoughtful insight I did not expect from this seemingly mundane throw-away book. I'd definitely read another book by this author.
First time reading this author. I enjoyed the book so much, I've started on the second one to this series. They are standalone books , so no cliffhanger. Which I like! Very quick reading finished in one night.
1. I really wasn't a fan of Mina's character. She had some moments here and there, but her first priority to Hailey was as her best friend, not her manager. Yes, running the whole show is a lot, but i kept waiting for it to be revealed she cared more about the position then Hailey. (I still feel that way.) Also, after the accident, she stated (nutshelling) -- "A fan could've been hurt. You could've been hurt." Why wasn't the danger to Hailey her instinctive reaction? 2. Why does Jackson keep saying "your" baby and not "our" baby?

I really liked Jackson from the start, his back story. The story wasn't deep or complicated. It was simple and sweet. I definitely recommend if you want a light read.
Okay…so…It was unbelievable. I can promise you I didn't have to take any breaks. I loved the ending a lot. I love a good book with a good ending. Recommended. Please don't start judging without giving it a try first.
