Her heat was never supposed to happen.
Now it might ruin everything.

At twenty-five, Rhea’s spent years hiding in plain sight - unregistered, unclaimed, and posing as a beta to escape the life of control that comes with being an omega.

No bond.
No claim.
No alpha.

She’s kept herself safe with suppressants, secrets, and a routine built like armor.

Until it all comes crashing down.

When her cycle breaks wide open on her twenty-fifth birthday, her first ever heat ignites with brutal force - and four dangerously different alphas scent her before she can vanish.

They shouldn’t want her.
They don’t want to share.
But fate doesn’t care about rules, and Rhea’s heat is far from ordinary.

Now she’s trapped in isolation with instincts she can’t control, four alphas she can’t escape, and bonds beginning to form that she never wanted, but can’t deny.

Book One of The Unmarked Chronicles kicks off a gritty, entertaining, and wildly steamy Omegaverse series about survival, slow-burn bonds, and the fire that comes from choosing your own fate - even when biology has other plans.

High heat. High stakes. Four alphas.
And one unmarked omega about to change everything.

Almost forgot to write I LOVE the cover, for this book and even book 2! Give me something other than four guys, I chic silhouette. Love that Rhea gave as good as she received on the banter department and that she needed 'help' but wasn't damsel in distress.

When you are blessed with a day to finish off your reading backlog, you take it and utilize it to the max. But I was also mad because most of it has been dedicated to this one book and I don't really feel it was worth all that time. So let me start with problem number one, this book is way, wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy too long, that I don't understand why there is a book 2 with the same characters in the mix and now the only change will be that it will be the pack vs the world. And so, even though I did enjoy reading this, I would advise you don't pick up this book if you have others waiting and screaming for you to read/finish them, or if you do not have a lot of idle time. It cannot be devoured in one sitting and even if you have a long journey planned like I did, it gets to a point you get tired with some aspects of the plot that you need space from the book.

So, what aspects did I not like? Lucian. Lucian, Lucian, Lucian. The story is about Rhea but the plot revolves around Lucian, his ego, his childhood trauma and his billionaire persona. I was so over him. Like he proves my personal preference for reverse harems where everyone is screwing everyone or if not, the guys who are basically straight have no problem with the other bi characters. And remember,

I both loved and hated the prose. We have scent descriptors such as below:

Burnt whiskey. Warm leather. Steel left to cool in the dark.

Refined cologne. Crushed berries. Cold smoke.

Pine. Honey. Warm bread on a cold morning.

His scent hits me like an uppercut: cinnamon, ozone, and the spark before a thunderstorm.

Such pretentious/over the top-because what do those words mean!-scent descriptors, which, at the same time, fit into the story.

I nod like someone who gives half a damn about internationally trafficked houseplants and lift my camera again.

“And the name’s Lexi, not ‘token background extra.’”

But record scratch, she sort of is. Lexi and Theo fill in the these-are-classic-roles-in-omegaverse-fiction but aren't really living, breathing characters on screen. Then, why was she so worried about what Lexi would think about the guys, yet, for all intents and purposes, Lexi is at first written in as a surface level character? She was the 'best friend' who didn't notice the friend who was living on scheduled suppressants!

Tall, ancient trees line the road, their trunks thick as egos at a billionaire convention.

The gates appear out of nowhere, rising from the mist like they’re powered by generational trauma. They don’t creak. They just… part. Obedient. Submissive.

Daddy Dom Dracula himself

Now, I love Daddy Dom stories but hate the honorific and absolutely cannot stand age play/incest (think step family if not biological family) tropes it's usually paired with. So I appreciate that Rhea thought it, even joked aloud about it, but didn't name drop Lucian as this. Because he also conventionally fills the role but doesn't really give off the proper caretaker vibe that comes with it.

omnipotent hallway cryptid

“I fucked my hand all night last night, thinking of you,” he says.

Honestly? Same.

“I felt you,” he murmurs. “I’ve felt you for days. I just didn’t know how much I needed it.”

Oh wow - feelings and dick? We’re thriving.

The preceding two quotes gave me the vibe of the author's age/age group/they probably consume the same online content I do and I love you get that she probably reads Omegaverse books as much as her readers do.

Now, if you came looking for smut and dirty talk, this is the book for you! Look no further! Sit down and read! Guys usually put chillies for spice, 5 out of 5 spice. Plentiful and open door is the other romanceio classification I love. However, Chapter 23 is where they first fuck. Hot, but at the same time just shows the slow pacing of the story.

Speaking of which, this book now overtakes The Book That Wouldn't Burn by Mark Lawrence as my longest book of 2025 so far, which irks me because I reserve large books for more deeper plots. But, on the other hand, if you are a reader and someone asks for a recommendation for a book that focuses on unexpected, first heat in long detail, this smashes it.

Kai Reed is not subtle. He’s a spark thrown onto silk; a chaos demon with the shoulders of a Greek statue and the moral restraint of a wolf raised in a frat house.

“I take her seriously,” Kai says, jerking his thumb at me. “Everything else is optional.”

Now, Kai in my head was Ryan Reynolds Deadpool. And it got tiring, real fast. Making jokes and throwing one liners all over the place, all the goddamn time, with everyone with their shut up refrain for him, but I absolutely loved him most when he was being serious. There's a scene with Lucian and with Rhea with him, talking about emotional stuff, that his character excels at.

In terms of screen time in the book for the guys, we have Lucian, Kai, Ash then Theo. Ash but most especially Theo, are just filling out roles that are needed in the Omegaverse for this book. I would love to see more of them later, but honestly I don't think book 2 will be for me just because of the emphasizing repetitiveness as well as dragging of the storyline for book 1.

I know I'll probably be steering clear of Omegaverse books for a while. Let's see.

So, in short, lots of smut. Characters that I felt you feel they are from this day and age. Too long.

Okay.

**SPOILERS**

Rhea has “issues.” Deep, trauma based issues. For 25 years she’s hidden her designation and presented herself as a beta. Being a beta is safe. Being a beta means she has choices. Being a beta means a life free from alphas and their dominance games. On her 25th birthday her best friend Lexi convinces her to come to a gala as a back up photographer, and Rhea reluctantly agrees. What she didn’t anticipate was the scents of 4 alphas would throw her life into a tailspin and change her world as she knew it.

Lucian Vale, billionaire alpha extraordinaire. He’s magnetic, controlling, dominant and used to getting everything he wants. When Rhea’s suppressants fail at the gala he’s “on her” like a flash. Rhea is terrified, she never expected to go into heat, and she certainly didn’t expect 4 alphas to converge on her. She’s in a back room of the gala when Lucian, Theo, Kai, and Ash find her. Lucian wants her for himself, but the other three alphas refuse to just hand her over, and with her heat scent so potent Lucian has no choice but to suggest his fortified country estate as a hideaway for the heat addled Rhea. He reluctantly includes the three other alphas, and they all make their way to his out of the way fortress. When they get there Lucian locks Rhea in a suite and basically forbids the others from going in.

Rhea is determined to ride her heat out alone. But two days in and she’s a wreck…literally. She NEEDS them. She literally formed a bond with all 4 of the alphas, something that is unheard of. In this society omegas only bond with one alpha. They don’t form packs. Alphas are too volatile, too possessive and dominant to share, and having one omega for 4 alphas is frankly beyond understanding. Lucian fights it. He fights his instincts, his need, everything because in his mind he KNOWS that Rhea is HIS, his mate. It’s unfathomable to him, the knowledge that Rhea has “called to” bonded three other alphas. Eventually he breaks, allowing the others to tend to Rhea, all the while maintaining his distance. But…he can’t hold out forever, because at the peak of her heat he caves, and takes her.

After the heat wanes Rhea is left in uncharted waters. She knows Lucian is her mate, but she also knows that she bonded the others. And that Lucian STILL doesn’t want to share. She is hurt and confused, and just a bit scared because she knows the OMC (the omega government system) will NOT take kindly to her situation. They could arrest her, lock her up, give her to another alpha, anything but allow her to be with a pack. Lucian and the others discuss the situation and decide that if they bond completely ie, mark Rhea then the OMC will have to give in. They will mark Rhea, present themselves as a fully formed pack show everyone that their unified and stable and the world will see that Rhea is a rare PACK OMEGA, an omega that balances out alphas and keeps them stable! It’s not done. It’s unheard of. But the proof is in the pudding, so to speak. Rhea is clearly a rare pack omega as evident by the fact that all 4 alphas didn’t go into a crazy feral rut or tear into each other.

The end of book one has Rhea and her alphas marking one another and deciding that they’ll confront the OMC and world head on, together, as a newly formed pack.

**THOUGHTS/OPINIONS**

This book was…okay. I didn’t like the mm content between Kai and Theo because their relationship wasn’t explained or established, it was just “thrown in” at like zero hour. Rhea’s deep into her heat, Kai is going crazy, he’s “handling things” himself when Theo comes into the room. One minute Kai is thinking about Rhea, and the next he and Theo are having sex. After their interlude the dialogue between them suggests that they’ve done this before (had sex) and that they have a “relationship” of some kind. But there was never any indication that these two knew one another before, or that they were in a relationship, even a complicated one. The author writes these alphas as “singular” beings who just kind of ran into each other at the gala. So it was uber weird and unbalanced when the two of them had graphic on page sex during Rhea’s heat. Also, towards the end of the book both Lucian and Rhea acknowledge that they are, indeed, mates, so again it’s strange that Rhea bonds with the other three alphas. I understand that she’s a rare pack omega, but to signal Lucian out as her DESTINED MATE, while the others just kind of called to her omega nature didn’t really give credence to the whole pack omega mentality. It would’ve made more sense if she was the mate to all 4 of them. But the author wrote these alphas as such solitary beings that it felt FORCED, and unnatural to put them into a pack by the end of the book. It just didn’t read as believable. Frankly I would’ve preferred if this was a one-on-one omega novel, as in Rhea and Lucian being the only two involved. I didn’t really feel connected to any of the other alphas, especially Kai and Theo once they had on page sex. It felt as if the other 3 alphas were just thrown into the novel to make the pack scenario possible. Again, IMO this book would have stood up better as a FMC and MMC book.

WOW WOW WOW.

First of all I just want to say thank you to Rayne Waters for this arc copy, as a huge Omegaverse fan I was so excited for this one and safe to say I was NOT disappointed

I also have to say that the writing quality of this book was SOOO good and I mean SO good, sometimes I can find myself cringing a lot and it can be painful to read some parts of romance books but nope not in this book, it this was so well written and edited really well, its self published so I really wanted to note that.

NEXT UP is the alphas, ohhhhh my god, it is so refreshing they are not only all very different but I absolutely loved seeing them clashing too, there was a lot of tension between them and also so funny in parts (Kai had me laughing out loud A LOT), but it was a very natural kind of tension that you would expect when you have 4 very dominant and also very different men coming together because they each are drawn to one omega. As much as you want them to just come as a pack immediately that wouldn't make sense for their characters and it was so satisfying to go on the journey with them. One alpha in particular, no spoilers but he is very reluctant because of his upbringing and personality and social stuff as well, and as much as I wanted him to just give in I loved the insight into his internal struggles and seeing this realistic and relatable tension and grit was amazing I couldn't get enough.

It's not like the usual insta love romance books and I loved that, it actually made sense and was true to the characters different personalities.

The spice was absolutely amazing 5/5, this was advertised as a high heat book so of course I was expecting a lot of spice and OMG yes this did not disappoint at all, so so much spice and dirty talk they were filthy and the scenes were good length too really detailed and well written.

I especially loved the build up in the FMCs reluctance, at the beginning she doesn't want to be with any alphas for understandable reasons and it doesn't just jump to her smelling them and hopping into bed with all 4, so again that was very realistic and relatable I enjoyed going on the journey with her and watching her reluctance chip away slowly before she gives in. also the spice actually added to the story and plot, and focused on the FMCs bonds with each of her alphas

In all I have absolutely devoured this book, I got my ARC copy two days ago and have already read it twice so that I could make notes the second time lol, I am so excited for book 2 and have ordered my copy for that, roll on June I am so excited to see what comes next for this pack as they go into the real world

Holy dirty talk. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was definitely different from other omegaverse books I’ve read which makes it kinda fun. It’s always neat seeing a new twist on it. I’m anxious for the next book to see what comes next for their pack.

It’s very difficult to me rate this book because I didn’t like it but for reasons that are ME problems so I think it’s not fair blame the book for it…

Before this I had never read a ov book where packs were forbidden and taboo so I gave it a try and it’s definitely not my type. I didn’t enjoy this constant denial of a literally biological pull… this makes me hate Lucian like 90% of the book, I find him a little hypocritical and unnecessary cold…

Its advertised that this has a very High heat and definitely delivers, usually I don’t mind it at all but I got so bored, it felt like all it was like fuck, mental breakdown, fuck, shower and repeat, this in a room that idk why I imagined it like a clinical cold sterile four walls…

And then I didn't enjoy the flirting jokes that Kai and Lexi have so much... I don't know if the author goes there in the second book, but I'm not very excited about it.

*But as I said, these are MY preferences, so it's not a bad thing... just not for me*

Perfect for those who are in the mood for a little plot with their smut.

I'm very torn on the rating, between a three and a four.

The author very honestly described this book as high heat, and it definitely lived up to that promise. The scenes were 🔥🔥for sure, even the moments where Rhea was armed with nothing but herself and some dirty talk coming from the other side of a locked door. M/M was included in a way that I did not expect, but I enjoy M/M, so that was not a drawback for me. Overall, the scenes with the alphas kept the vibes strong, but I'll admit, there were some times where I started to skim.

As far as the plot goes, I think the set-up of the world is definitely interesting. There are a lot of of OV stories where the alphas are the "bad guys" who have the governmental control, so it was nice to see something different from that norm. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the conflict within that world and how the pack will come together and keep Rhea safe from any threats once her existence becomes public knowledge.

Now onto the characters... The big thing here is that there's not... a lot to know. With the focus being on the heat, there's minimal development beyond the surface layers of the world issues as well as the character backstories. I did find them intriguing, and the major tropes are unveiled to whet the appetite, but I generally like to learn more about the characters in book one.

Rhea, our omega in disguise. She's strong, stubborn, and feisty. She's got some baggage, so she's not completely impervious, but I like that she doesn't back down.
Theo, our cinnamon roll alpha. He's sweet, dedicated, and from the very first moment, he's got major big safe space energy.
Kai, our flirty, boundary pushing alpha. For a while, it's a little hard to know how to interpret him, but in the end, I think Waters does a good job with keeping his personality while making his intentions more clear.
Ash, our quiet, caring soldier. I'm definitely curious about his past, and I'm hoping that gets expanded on. He's seemingly serious, but he's also got the makings of a cinnamon-roll jr.
Lucian, our cranky, SHE'S MINE, will they/won't they? alpha Lucian is... a lot. I did like him, yes, but there were points where his hot & cold attitude got a little tiring. He doesn't want to share, and there are some bumps in the road with him coming to terms with his destiny as part of a pack. Though Lucian has a cold front, Waters does give us some glimpses into the way he'll probably be a micromanaging mother hen when he's truly invested.

I will definitely read book two. I want to know where this plot is going and find out more about what she's building.

💘 ARC REVIEW 💘

Thank you to Rayne for my ARC of this book.

I am a sucker for an RH story and this was no different. I was hooked from chapter one - the story picks up super fast with all the action and introductions but actually the build up to being with the alphas is more of a moderate to slow burn. I liked that our FMC didn’t just give in super fast and sleep with all the alphas, she stayed true to herself and only ‘gave in” when she was ready.

As with other reviewers I really enjoyed the little twists and creative license that was taken on some onegaverse concepts which made this book really refreshing, don’t get me wrong it’s still true to OV and has all the essential elements but just fresh new twists of them. It was easy to follow and I don’t think you’d even need to know anything about OV to follow this book as the author includes it all really well.

It can be difficult reading an RH with so many characters sometimes as some can blend into the background but what I liked in this book was how the alphas all had different times in the book to shine, no spoilers but we saw more of some alphas in the beginning while another was having his own power struggles with himself and then later in the book he came in when the bonds and relationships with the others were more established so I felt like I got a really good insight of them all which makes me excited for the next book and how that then goes on.

The spice was amazing. I usually avoid MM so was a little nervous for that as I prefer my books to just be the FMC but actually it was quite minimal and didn’t take away from the story at all, it actually focused on her in the MM scene, in fact all of the spicy scenes I felt like they added to the story and were written really well. The dirty talk is amazing I would love to have this as an audiobook lol.

This book had me laughing out loud in a lot of parts, it was a nice easy read without making me wince or cringe with the dialogue. I really enjoyed how this book focused on the FMCs first heat and I am super excited for the next book where they all face what comes next together.

❤️‍🔥ARC REVIEW❤️‍🔥
Spice-🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
The author knocked this out the park for her debut omegaverse. This is high heat and the plot is there but it’s mainly focusing on the fact that the omega has been living as a beta for so long and her first heat knocks her on her ass. And on a wild ride with not 1 but 4 alphas. All very different and had nothing to do with each other until they are pulled o to our FMC, Rheas orbit.
This is a little different for an omegaverse because it’s rare that packs are formed it’s mostly an alpha and omega partnership. There is an omega protocol and it’s watched closely for any omega who presents to have them put into the system. Rhea has her reasons to hide and not want to be “claimed” or tied down with no identity besides being an omega. Shes working an even as a photographer when one by one an alpha draws her attention in a way that stirs something buried within her she’s hoped to have suppressed forever. Running away she finds herself in a situation that makes the 4 men in question take control of the situation and take her somewhere away from every other alpha because she’s in heat and they know she needs help and protection. And they do, in so many ways. Without giving too much away you will enjoy how each of the bonds come together and what it means, you will find angst in the way of how others may have problems with the idea of bonds, marks and forming more than just a simple life.
The build up of this book leaves you wanting to know more and I sure hope book two gives us more of the adjusting to pack life, the struggles that come with those growing pains and exploring other aspects hinted and barely brought to light in this book.

Mild spoilers ahead.

This book ekes out its own space in the ABO universe - bonds aren’t instantaneous, multiple alphas is taboo and perceived as illegal - and has some common themes - government agency monitoring and controlling omegas, hidden omega with strong sense of identity and no room for alpha posturing, etc.

It can at times be funny and the dialogue is quick, but gets repetitive real fast and some storylines feel like they disappear and only reappear when convenient.

Overall, the story felt slow and mostly ended up feeling cringey, with lines like “I am the whole goddamn fire, and fire doesn’t ask for permission - it just burns.” And “I take a bite of toast. It tastes like crumbs and survival.” And “He smells like sex and adrenaline and chaos.” I was over it about 75% of the way through and I just wanted the book to be over.

I gave it two stars - it’s interesting enough if you want something new, but not enough to reread/recommend.

I really liked this omegaverse romance.
I loved the complexity of all of the alphas, I wish there was a smidge more plot but most of the book was her going through stages of her heat, so they all start at the very beginning stages of getting to know them in bits of clarity. She was a headstrong FMC and at times a little too much.
We had the soldier who was quiet but alert, the teddy bear, the ice cold fury, and the couldn’t be serious who laughs his way through life.
I think this was a good first book otherwise, they had to come together to make the pack work or it would fracture.
I’m excited to see them grow together because this is a big obstacle of growing since packs are “rare”.
I think Lucian is going to have a really hard time with all of the outside forces but I think they will make eachother stronger!

I loved this book including the v unique cover which pulled me in immediately. Things I especially loved are:

Lots of banter between the alphas and very funny in parts from that whcih I wasn't expecting
The way each alpha is very different but their personalities and views all make sense
The slow burn to bonding
The reluctant alpha... I LOVED him!
The smut... phewwwwww. Especially love how it doesn't take away from the story but adds to it
The clashing alphas

I really like that this wasn't a book where the FMC says she doesn't want a pack but then gives in after like one or two chapters. It is a slow burner for them all coming together but it's so worth it. Delicious tension amazing spicey scenes humor wit and a relatable FMC. Excited for the next one

YES, YES, YES, YES!

I devoured this book! Thank you so much to Rayne for allowing me to be an Arc reader, because what a privilege! First of all, Rayne writes really well and I appreciate that. Now the book! I just loved it. We meet Rhea who has no intention of being with 1 Alpha let alone 4! But after the suppressants fail and the heat hits, what’s a girl to do?!
I enjoyed every second of the story, the pack dynamic and I just loved Rhea. Her point of view, the clashes as the pack starts out, it all makes sense. The spice is spicy as in it serves, pages and pages! Also, there were plenty of funny moments too, which I was not expecting but really enjoyed.
I cannot recommend this enough and think I need a reread whilst I impatiently wait for book 2!

OMG!

Everything I wanted! I’ve read it twice within as many days and I am in love with Rhea and her men! Rhea is strong, she knows her own mind and has been hiding who she really is for good reason. But, there comes a day when everything falls apart and she unknowingly alerts 4 very different Alphas that she’s experiencing her first heat.
It’s spicy, but there’s a really good plot too. We get to see a pack evolve, despite some reluctant members (one in particular who is my personal fav!) It’s funny, it’s hot, the characters are really relatable and I am sooo looking forward to the next one, to see where Rayne Waters is going to take us. If you love the genre you’ll love this book and if you’re new to it, I think you’ll soon be hooked. 5 easy stars from me!

This is a different take on the OV; it doesn't follow all the constructs that have become common but all the important aspects are still there and it was nice to read something a bit different. This isn't a dark romance but it isn't light and fluffy either. It's kind of filled with sharp angles that stop it being too comfortable. The characters are strong, clear individuals with distinct personalities

I would say this book is definitely more spice than plot and I do prefer my scales to tip the other way but I am hopeful the plot picks up more in the next book- this isn't really a criticism, more personal preference. And I did feel like the book focused more on one of the alphas and the other were sidelined a little, again hopefully this is dealt with more in the next book.

💗 Received an ARC 💗

🍆🍆🍆🍆 4 alphas
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ very spicy
⚔️ + minimal mm but very 🔥🔥

I truly appreciated the thorough list of content warnings! I think this is a good introduction for the characters although I hope we get to know them more in the second book. I normally do not enjoy stories where the characters only stay in one place but a promise of a second book makes it better. I love the characters so I want to see them in other scenarios. There was a scene with Kai and Lexi that Im very confused about what it means and I wonder if we're going to get more of that in the second one. The scene with Kai and Theo was really hot and one of the hottest MM scenes I've ever read. The dirty talk in this book is 🔥🔥🔥🔥!

This book is the first in the omegaverse series and is a high heat book with lots of really good spicy scenes. It focuses on the set up and coming together of the pack, I loved the clashing rutting alphas and the fact that it wasn’t just another insta love book where all these dominant possessive alphas immediately get along with each other really well. I liked how the spice focused on rheas relationships with each alphas and also the alphas becoming more tolerant of each other.

This is not a heavy dark book it’s a nice palette cleanser from darker stories without being cringy and I’m really excited for the next book to see the pack established and without rhea in heat

I signed up for an ARC of this one and I was really enjoying it for the most part. As I was getting to the end, it felt like it needed more and I was getting a little disappointed. Then I read the end where it said book 2 will still be about them and I realized that i missed the part where this was a series. lmao! so what would have been a 3 star read with a "I'd still recommend it but it was my favourite" to a 4 star read that I really enjoyed, knowing that the parts that I felt were missing will probably be addressed in the second book. lol. so please read this one! I really liked the characters

A MMC seemed far more into the FMC’s best friend than the FMC, apart from the FMC’s scent, both in first introduction and in first PoV chapter. No clue where the author is headed with this, but it weirded me out too much to keep going. Maybe I’m too much of a traditionalist, but if one of the MMCs is going to be with both women, it would have been nice to be forewarned, and I can’t see what else the author might be intending. Also, didn’t really see much of a personality in the FMC beyond avoiding the omega bureaucracy, at least in the 40% I got before I DNF

Is better at consent than most OV with surprise heat and new alphas. I will give it that.

This is the first book in the Unmarked Chronicles. Took me a while to get used to the writing style but I really enjoyed this book! This is a high tension, high spice book with plenty of plot to keep you reading. The four MMC’s are totally different, pulled together reluctantly by the FMC who declares she wants them all, feels the bond with them all. In their world, this is a rare occurrence, & it takes one MMC a very long time to figure out his part in it all. Definitely recommend this book, & can’t wait for book 2!

Wow. I love OMV books and this one has a fantastic spin with some different aspects of OMV stories you see out there. This first book in the series is primarily focused on our Omega suddenly encountering (literally) her Alphas, her first unexpected heat, and how they all handle it together. This left me panting and dang near begging for MORE!!! I do not want to spoil this for anyone but OMG! The MM scene had me sweating. Good grief! I cannot wait for more group scenes and to watch their pack and bonds grow and develop. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in this series. Releasing 05/18/25.

Blurb:
This is Book 1 of The Unmarked Chronicles, a high-heat Omegaverse book featuring a fated Omega, four very different Alphas, and all the tension, spice, and scent-drenched slow-burn bonding you could want. And don’t be fooled by the discreet cover: it is VERY smutty.

Tropes included

- Hidden/unregistered Omega

- First (unexpected) heat cycle

- Reverse harem / why choose

- Four protective, possessive Alphas

- Touch-her-and-die tension

- Rare-pack Omega / fated mates

- Forced proximity

- Found family

- VERY spicy, with all the usual: Knots. Scenting. Marking.

Beware the cliffhanger....

Ok so I took off a star for 2 reasons. 1st it was not made clear IMO that this ended on a cliffhanger. I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR IT! Cliffhangers cause me anxiety....
Ok, second reason is well - there isn't really much to the story itself. Don't misinterpret this by assuming I wasn't good, it was a decent read. However, it is basically snark and spice so if you are looking for high heat this is a good one. I personally do l, hence still giving it 4 stars, but I would have liked even a little more background on the characters.

3.5*

This is a slooowburn. There were a lot of high heat moments, but I wish there was a bit more plot. It was very hot though. I love the unique way Waters’ made the world where packs aren’t common. It’s a very fresh take on omegaverse. There aren’t a lot of books where packs aren’t the main thing and alpha/omega relationships are prioritized. The characters were all great and well written. If you are wanting a high heat/low plot book this is perfect.

Love love loved this book. Definitely was a different take on omegaverse which I loved and made it stand out from the others I’ve read. I loved how detailed the warnings list was, I definitely went in knowing what I was in for but without spoilers. Also loved how different each of the MMCs were and it was easy to know who each was without having to backtrack or try and work it out. Cannot wait for the next book and to see what happens!

Fantastic read! so many feels!

This was my first book of Rayne Waters and I am hooked on her writing! “Unmarked” drew me in and I could feel Rhea’s panic and pain when she realized what was happening! And the Alphas! 😍 Lucian the Alpha-hole, Theo the dreamboat, Ash always there for the quip and strong, protective Kai, rounds out a group of men who can’t be any more different, but exactly are who Rhea needs them to be. You will love this omegaverse!!

I loved every second of this book. Omegaverse books do have certain elements that need to be included and Rayne did an amazing job at adding new twists to the category. Between the emotions, details, and character development, it's very easy to get sucked into wanting more. I can't wait for the next book in this series to see where these characters lead. So excited!

Book Review for Unmarked by Rayne Waters

This was an ARC read for me. It was a good start up book. You meet Rhea the FMC who is hiding what she is. Then come our 4 MMCs and completely take over. They each bring something different to the table. Interested in seeing what happens next.

This is the first in a new series and I really enjoyed it. The whole book revolves around Rhea’s first unwanted and unexpected heat and the four Alphas that she surrounds herself with. I cannot wait to see where Rayne Waters takes this story next. Beware it is spicy and I’m all for that! Excited for the next instalment!

Well!!!!!!!!!!! That was spicy!!!!!!!!!!
I ate this book whole! Rhea is going into her first heat and somehow ends up in a safe house with 4 unsuspecting Alphas! I enjoyed every second, love the pack (even the A-hole) and am excited to see where this series goes and how the pack will survive the challenges coming their way. Great start to a new series!

DNF’d @59%… the characters and narration was just to millennial. And the constant “he didn’t enter the room, he arrrived” over and over again got old quick.

And the spice wasn’t even that spicy. I think it has good bones and dynamic could have been good but it just fell flat for me and couldn’t keep my interest.

Loved this book so much thank you for the opportunity to be an arc reader. I couldn’t put it down and didn’t want to go to sleep so I could finish reading, I can’t wait for the next book and to read more about the whole pack especially about Lucian and his bond with her as well as my favourite Kai
