It seems that I came into Bolt Action at the perfect time to play Italians! For the first Armies of Italy book, it's pretty solid. There isn't a heap of context information, I would have liked to see a little more to be honest, but then again this is a game supplement not a standalone history book. A lot of the new units are very cool to see, I'm personally very happy to see my Bersaglieri getting their own special rules, as well as the complementary new national rules for certain armoured vehicles creating a little synergy. (Although I am puzzled as to why the Semovente da 75/18 does not have the Ferro Mole, Ferra Cuore rule given its history in North Africa, yet the M15/42 does even though it only saw action in Rome?) But besides a few small pet peeves like that, overall there is a lot of interesting variety within the force selection and modelling opportunities.

At any rate, good groundwork to build from in future, looking forward to seeing further Italian plastic kits coming through following the terrific new Paracadutisti :)
