✨ARC Review: Bred by an Orc by Aramis Jordan
✨
I had the honour of receiving Bred by an Orc as an ARC, and I’m really glad I did. This is a bold novella that isn’t afraid to push boundaries, but it does so with care and consideration. There are clear content warnings provided both in the book description and within the book itself, which I appreciated.
Aramis Jordan takes on some heavy and unconventional themes in this story, including non-con and mpreg, yet handles them in a way that feels surprisingly tasteful and emotionally resonant. The non-con elements are balanced by the protagonist’s inner dialogue, offering insight that made those moments more digestible for me personally.
I haven’t read much mpreg before, but I enjoyed the way it was presented here. It was less about graphic detail and more about the emotional experience of it, which worked really well for me. I was relieved to find that the themes, while edgy, didn’t push too far for my comfort zone. Instead, Aramis focuses on character growth and the development of the central relationship, even through the erotic scenes, which made the story feel more grounded and meaningful.
As a novella, it moves at a faster pace, but there’s still enough plot and character depth to make the erotic elements feel cohesive and connected to the story rather than just being there for shock or spice.
All in all, I really admire Aramis Jordan for walking this line so skillfully. I’m definitely looking forward to Carlisle and Augron’s story next!
