Surviving Shadows: Majestic's Second Chance

Rate this book
Majestic Love is the child her parents didn't think they would ever have. She saw real love until it no longer existed after her father was fatally shot by his mistress. Her mother crumpled under the weight of the pain, leaving Majestic to find her own way. Her journey has been a tumultuous one, with the cruel embrace of cancer and the stinging betrayal of her once-beloved fiancé leaving her physically and emotionally frail. It’s her best friend Angel who helps her navigate the painful shadows cast by these challenges, but in one unexpected encounter, Majestic comes face-to-face with a man whose presence illuminates her path with the warmth of love, compassion, and healing.
Kameron Banks has been kicking down doors with his brother Darius since they were young boys. Abandoned by their biological father and burdened by a stepfather who never truly claimed them as his own, Kameron's and Darius’s youth became a symphony of survival and self-discovery. Years later, the once-innocent child morphed into a street-savvy titan, a king in a space where loyalty is as fleeting as the walls of his secret kingdom. His name is whispered with a blend of fear and respect in the alleyways. Yet, even as he climbs the ladder of notoriety, he feels the cold, unrelenting grip of emptiness around him. That is until he peers into the most beautiful dark brown eyes he’s ever seen, eyes that belong to Majestic Love.
With newfound passion for life that has ignited a fire in their hearts, will Majestic and Kameron be able to maneuver the evils of relationships past that seem intent upon standing in the way of their forever? Or will they succumb to the ghosts of connections that refuse to die?

Too verbose

This book had great potential but the author is too verbose. Given the POV that it is written in, it feels unrealistic that the characters would describe things in the way they are mentioned in the book. Good storyline but the wordiness made it difficult to connect.
