Nea Anna Simone is a multi-award winning, nationally recognized writer of Literary Fiction. Her books are sold in over 20 countries. Acknowledged as "An Original Voice of Fiction" by Borders Bookstore with her debut novel Reaching Back, heralded as intelligent and profound, dark, disturbing, and heartbreaking. Nea Simone continued the family saga of four generations in ReBorn, which became a New York Times bestseller. In 2013, she penned the ending to the tumultuous and suspenseful trilogy in The Substance of Things.
Currently, the author is completing her 5th novel.

The novel was acquired by BET Books and published in 2002, where it became their first book reviewed as "literary" fiction.
In 2013, the unabridged version of Reaching Back was re-released under the Gravel Road Imprint. When she’s not writing, she devotes time to charitable causes, including; New Earth, The Abundant Life Group, Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence and Chayil, to raise awareness of the societal impact of domestic violence on our children and communities.
Nea’s writing has opened other doors as it often touches on the uncomfortable issues of domestic violence and abuse. Her novels “Reaching Back and Reborn” are used for counseling sessions of victims recovering from domestic violence at Grady Memorial Hospital through the Emory University NIA PROJECT drawing national attention as author/advocate. She is a recipient of the Champion of Change Award from the Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence. Nea graced the cover of WRITTEN Magazine’s 1st anniversary edition featuring her story as an author/and philanthropist.
