About the author

Mark Anthony Germanos authored the "AI Ain’t So Tough series" on Amazon KDP. The "AI Ain't So Tough" series presents artificial intelligence concepts in an easily understandable and consumable manner. Beginner topics like prompting, editing and polishing AI-generated content to your own voice appear alongside advanced topics like deepfakes, plagiarism and AI's power demands. After all, Mark named this series "AI Ain’t So Tough," not "AI is Too Tough."

Mark authored "How Hacks Happen and how to protect yourself." "How Hacks Happen" is a workbook that explores topics such as phishing attacks, social engineering, multifactor authentication, password security and social media data monetization. It is a workbook, not merely a book. Mark advises life is not a spectator sport.

Mark Anthony Germanos is a cybersecurity consultant, author and trainer based in the Greater Sacramento area. He is the virtual Chief Information Security Officer at Cyber Safety Net. He emphasizes keeping users safe online and protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of his clients' data, networks and reputations. He audits networks and documents the network security, or lack of security (Mark has seen a lot) then works with the principals to strengthen their network security. Things end up more stable, more secure and faster.

Since June 2023, Mark has also been working as a Professor for Pivot Technology School / State of Tennessee, where he provides CompTIA Security+ training to remote workers via Zoom.

Mark has a life, a wife and a dog. You can find him on LinkedIn and via Google searches.

Harnessing AI for Better Writing

The author breaks down complex concepts into manageable steps, making it easy to integrate AI tools into your workflow. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on ethical usage and the actionable prompts that help maintain my unique voice. This resource is not only informative but also empowering, showing how AI can be a valuable ally rather than a threat. Overall, it’s a must-read for anyone looking to improve their efficiency and effectiveness in writing.

Fantastic entry to the world of AI. The author starts with a highly relatable short story on how he used AI to learn about home HVAC (heating ventilation air conditioning) systems. He then goes deeply into prompting, plagiarism and finding your own voice. The author shows why you need to polish AI's results before putting your name on the finished product.

Chapters end with short quizzes. Some have homework.

The author is a cybersecurity trainer. He does a great job breaking down complex topics into a form laypersons can digest.

I like how this book shows that AI can do more than just help with writer’s block. I often say it solves the blank page problem, but it takes real effort to get it to understand how I write and how I talk. The book does a good job reminding you not to lose your voice, though I would have liked more about how to actually do that. Overall, it is a clear and useful read for anyone who wants to use AI to write better and faster.

Easy introduction

"Write with AI" by Mark Germanos is an advocate for the adoption of AI writing tools. He discusses how to use prompting, some of the ethical and legal considerations. The book includes examples from perplexity, but other tools could also be used. Easy introduction to the topic.

Write with AI

Good book. Short read. This book is suitable for readers who are just being introduced to AI. The book is short enough so that readers new to the subject will not be overwhelmed.
