Here There Be Aliens is both a fully standalone limited series and the epic conclusion to the Eisner-nominated Here There Be Dragons trilogy! Brought to us by veteran scribe Frank Tieri (Wolverine, The Hunger) and new series artist Angel Hernandez (Star Trek). It’s the middle of the 20th century, and Americans everywhere are terrified by the strange lights hovering above them in the night sky…and they should be. These UFOs are actually the Xilien invasion force! Revealed to have already been on Earth during the events of Here There Be Sons of Giants, the Xiliens have been attempting to destabilize the planet with the help of kaiju from outer space! With the aliens’ claws deep inside the U.S. government, will our rogue operatives manage to band together to save humanity?
Thank you NetGalley for the digital ARC of this volume.
The world is being taken over by aliens and it's up to the kaiju and mankind to defend our world. This wasn't exactly my cup of tea. I thought that the art was really nice. But the story kind of lost me about halfway through. It seemed to jump around and forward a bit too much for my liking. It was hard to follow.
Godzilla: Here There Be Aliens #1 – A Thrilling Start to an Epic Finale! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This first issue wastes no time pulling readers into the chaos, blending UFO paranoia with kaiju devastation in a way that feels both fresh and nostalgic. Frank Tieri’s storytelling remains razor-sharp, weaving intrigue and tension throughout, while Angel Hernandez’s artwork delivers cinematic-scale destruction with breathtaking detail.
I was hooked right away! The balance of mystery, action, and classic Godzilla lore makes this a gripping read from the start. As the Xilien invasion looms larger, the stakes are higher than ever, and it’s clear this series is building towards something massive. The pacing keeps you locked in, while the world-building effortlessly expands upon the events of Here There Be Dragons.
With its rich storytelling, stunning visuals, and high-intensity plot, this issue is a must-read for fans of both kaiju and sci-fi suspense. The beginning of a great series—I’m already anxious to see more!
How can you not like a comic about Godzilla and aliens?? This is the first time I’ve ever ARC read a comic and it was so fun! I’m a big Godzilla fan and all the monsters were present, especially my gal Mothra I also have a fascination with aliens so it was basically all I ever wanted.
Action packed, twists, lots of cool graphics and art!
An interesting way of connecting aliens and kaiju, while bringing in some of humanity’s greatest threats in a way to bring Godzilla and his friends and enemies into a battle royale for the planet. Full of fun twists and turns, with numerous pop culture winks of the eye and Easter eggs abound, a great story all Godzilla fans should read.
A well-done graphic novel with an action-packed story line, and outstanding artwork! The story is fast paced and has some nice twists and turns. Overall, it was a quick read that offered a relaxing get away.
Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
