Cool story. This reads like a college essay with pro tips. However, I do appreciate the honesty. Like when I had the thought “just like all the other motivational/self help books…” the author mentioned that very thought. At times it felt like two different writing styles. One side of it being motivational as in, “manifest your dreams!”, and the other being informative/factual as in, “Annabelle went through a life changing experience. It was motivational because it was a difficult time. We can all have different motivation because we are all different. Motivation doesn’t exist. Only that it does because we make it.”

If you follow me on my book page, you know I love doing my walks (outdoors and indoors). I did not find the information in the book to be new but just a reminder as to why I enjoy doing it. Mia narrates this and you could feel her happiness and enthusiasm for this community she created. I love how Mia took something that brought her joy and clarity and started a movement. There are no local groups in my area but I would love to attend one of their walks! I had attempted to start my own walking group many moons ago but it ended up being way more involved than I thought it would and I retired it.
For me walking is such a solitude hobby. It allows me to have that time to myself and to do thinking (or no thinking) and to enjoy nature. This was all discussed in the book and just how good it makes you feel after. She talks about how sometimes the hardest part is getting started and sticking with it and I can certainly attest to that! I often say that if I don't do, I'm afraid I won't start up again so I just make sure that I do at least 20 mins (approx 1 mile) so that I feel somewhat accomplish.
One thing that I appreciated was her talking about how hard it is to make friends. And that sometimes you have to be the bigger person to make the first move to say hello. I totally feel this! As much as I can be an extrovert there is a still a big part of me that can become introverted. Often time in group settings I will clam up and in my head I am telling myself to talk to people but I just get so wrapped up into my brain that it never happens. I think having a group like this is such a great way to meet new people.
I recommend reading this book if you are a walker or have any desire to start walking but unsure where to start. This book will give you some tools and tips on how to start your walking journey.
I loved this book. It was authentic and relatable. It has really great life advice in it and I would love to re-read it eventually to take notes. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is feeling stuck, especially in the corporate work world and wants to gain life skills that help with confidence and positive mindset.
I loved this book and flew through it in a day! Inspiring and gave walking a new meaning for me. Much like Mia- I shy away from walking because I have to be alone with my thoughts for an extended period of time. Hot girl walk brought new meaning to walking- focusing on goals and confidence.
