Jinhua has always been the good daughter, doing everything that’s expected of her. Finally, it’s all paid off as she’s engaged to the Prince of Cerisa – the highest honor she could bring to her family.
When a penniless merchant comes to her town, she starts to doubt everything she’s worked her whole life for. As the date for her to move to the palace approaches, Jinhua must make a choice. Will its ramifications end her adventures before they begin, or will she find happiness in her decision?
Leaving everything familiar behind, Jinhua navigates a new life, but is it the right one? Will it leave her completely alone or will it be an exciting new chapter?
Will Jinhua fight for love or live up to expectation?
Merchants and Warriors was a lovely read. I was extremely excited to pick up this ARC since I’m a fan of all of the tropes - ESPECIALLY found family. I absolutely loved how Ranulf, the MMC, was constantly SWOONING over Jinhua, the FMC. I was a fan of how Camilla Tracy explained every similarity and difference between Ranulf and Jinhua’s cultures. In particular, I was a fan Jinhua being a lady warrior and how it allowed her to connect with everyone in the book. CAMILLA TRACY DID NOT DISAPPOINT 👏👏👏 Jinhua does not play when it comes to her man, and I LOVE the “touch him and 💀” trope.
In terms of character relationships, I believe the found family in Merchants and Warriors was written extremely well. I loved reading about Ranulf, Jinhua, Crab, and the entire crew. Seeing how everyone connected and accepted Jinhua was adorable. I also loved how absolutely WHIPPED Ranulf was for Jinhua (I know I said it earlier but I won’t stop talking about it because AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH).
Overall, this was an amazing read and I enjoyed every second of it. Thank you so much Camilla for sending the ARC via BookFunnel! I’m SO grateful I got to ARC read Merchants and Warriors as well as be a part of your Street Team!
