The Smith: Part IV Northlands
This book, along with The Smith Part III Normarch, are revised and expanded replacements for ‘The Smith 2: County.’ this book has several new chapters added at the end.
Now a Marquese, Chet is finally engaged to his intended Verna. Unfortunately, the Queen and Linny know about the engagement, so Chet must deal with the events they plan, while still preparing to invade the orc nation in the Northlands. Verna still isn’t talking about what they are going to do about Liana. His fiancée seems to have a way he gets to keep the harem she is growing for him, but she isn’t talking.
On top of that, he starts having his own ideas about at least one of the balls that will be held for his betrothal. That ball may result in the building of a new industry as well as a massive diplomatic coup.
During one of the brief gaps in time that the celebration schedules allows, Chet makes trips north to check on things. During one of those trips, he finds his mother’s parents.

Lost 2 stars for NOT writing a Recap.
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.

I really enjoyed all of these books. I do wonder if the story is going to end here or if there will be more to come.
