The first volume in the Lifer series. A lifer sentenced to 622 years. And the best years of his life too! What could be worse than that? It's Montechristo! In the darkest hours he is there, ready to remind you of everything you are trying to forget. He holds all the aces in the game of sarcasm... and has another one up his sleeve.
Arkas (Greek: Αρκάς) is the pen name of a Greek comic artist. His strip series, the first of which is "O Kokkoras" (The Rooster, 1981) appeared in the Greek comic magazine Babel and were later published as comic albums. The series O Isovitis (The Lifer, 1988) is his most popular work.
This is "interesting" subject matter - a prisoner incarcerated for 622 years - but it does manage, quite handily, to be darkly humorous and appealing. And the illustrations, though limited in palette, are actually well done.
