When one door closes for the young witch, Raven Alby, she’ll kick open another one.
Raven is graduating from Fowler Academy with her fierce red dragon, Leander by her side.
She is taking on the responsibilities of a WarMage - just like her late mother - and has joined the kingdom's army corps and their fleet of dragons.
Time to get ready for whatever the world throws at Raven and her homeland, the kingdom of Lomberdoon.
Something is affecting the dragons, wild and tame. A few have turned up crazed, spitting fire and ice, right before they die. Did the creepy crawly monsters that once plagued the kingdom leave one last poisonous gift behind?
Can the corps’ veterinarian, Dr. Welby find out what’s causing it and create a cure before it’s too late?
And Raven’s grandfather, Connor, has gone missing. Can her frenemy, Bella and her private company track him down for Raven – in exchange for a favor, of course.
Things are changing in the land of Lomberdoon and battles may be on the horizon. Who will stand with Raven and Leander?

Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
I read these books initially when they first released individually. Let me tell you that this was both an incredible and incredibly frustrating experience.
This series launched two of my favorite things when reviewing any of Michael and Martha’s collaborations. The first is the phrase, “The Mike and Martha Show.” This is intended to embody the full-on spectacles that they are able create in words when their collaborations are flowing flawlessly. By this I mean characters who are so real and engaging that you’d swear these are your best friends, tapestries of world-building that are so lush with intricate details you could spend hours looking at all the tiny things woven into the background, and adventures so daring and thrill inducing that at times you’d swear you are riding the worlds most awesomely terrifying rollercoaster. THAT is what I mean when I say, “The Mike and Martha Show,” and it’s embodied fully in this series for which I originally coined the phrase.
The second of my “favorite” things to include in a review of their work would be my endlessly unceasing rants against horribly evil and vile cliffhangers, the likes of which no reasonable author would ever consider including in their work but in which these two seem to find great joy. (Side-note: it’s entirely possible that I may be exaggerating just a TAD, but I would assert that it’s equally possible that I am not). Now I’ve never been a fan of the cliffhanger, but I certainly never moaned or whined about them as I do now until I read my through this series. PLEASE…in one instance a book literally ends with the main character jumping off into empty air. Yes, we all know she’ll be caught, but that’s not the point. It’s just a devilishly, perhaps fiendishly, amusing way to end a book. Would it have really been so difficult to add two or three more paragraphs? Regardless, with respect to this series, at least, it’s a moot point since the series is complete and you needn’t wait several weeks to find out what happens next. Also, in their defense, I must also point out that their most recent collaborations have been entirely devoid of cliffhangers, so perhaps they’ve finally outgrown that particular flaw. (Watch, now they’ll make me eat my words, lol)
All in all, you just can’t go wrong with this series. It’s been a few years since I read these upon their release so I was more than pleasantly surprised to be reminded of just how I loved this particular series. I am certain you will too. ENJOY!
I enjoyed the story lines of the two series. I am however confused by the timeline for the second one. In the first one it ends during the summer between her first year and second of a 4 year school but the second series starts with her graduation yet it is repeatedly stated it is two years later from the events of the first series. The math doesn’t make sense since she didn’t skip a year because the entire class she started with graduated at the same time. Should have been 3 years later not two.
What an amazing Saga! I enjoyed every single book one after the other. The life of Raven and Leander is one adventure that many would’ve given up. Both are tenacious. What I liked the most is how they solved most of the Kingdom’s issues and threats without ever giving up and being creative on their own. They earn the trust and respect of all and even save an Island Nation from evil.
This is a story of doing what is right, true and faithful. A young girl goes forth to strengthen her weaknesses and succeeds and learns that she can improve her skills and knowledge, she has no need or ability to improve her faith in mankind, her partner and doing what is right for the greatest number while protecting those with the greatest need and less ability.
An extremely powerful story detailing the lives of best friends as they navigate the ups and downs of becoming qualifed Mages. From young Adults through 4 Years of School to becoming the most celebrated Mages in their Kingdom, along with their Familiars, Dragons and Army Cohorts.
If you start reading this series, beware! Doing chores, other reading, eating, even sleep will become secondary issues. With the single exception of breathing, you will want to do nothing else. If you are anything like me, you will have an extremely difficult time setting this wonderful series of books down.
Excitement, daring, brilliant action. I could not stop reading this series ages. .
Would highly recommend this series of gripping adventure, excitement and a little romance mixed in. Would love a sequel to see what happens between Raven and Chui and also how their dragons romance progresses For once starting books I didnt want to put down. Brilliant.
This was the worst long book series I’ve ever read. It lacked in character development; true antagonists; and kind of downright boooooring storylines. There was no growth of characters. There was no substance to the plot that would keep me guessing. I was actually surprised by the lack of surprises that this book awarded me with. Save your time…skip this one.
I did not quit reading these books til I was done. and wanting more. Great imagination ,great characters an great stories. Thanks for nearly 5000 pages Wish therefore more.
Best double series I've had the pleasure of reading in a really long time. If you love dragons, adventure, magical mishaps and friendships that last, then I suggest you read these books! You won't be sorry, I promise!
It was a fantastic read enjoyed ever bit of it . I read this book because I love dragons even though they are fictional I just enjoy reading about them I love the fact that they talk it makes it more enjoyable that they interact with their rider . Just loved it .
Both series are truly wonderful. The magic is totally different from any other series that I have read. I loved the way Raven learned how the dragons were meant to be treated and proceeded to free them all.
I totally enjoyed this series. It was had to put down and get anything done. One adventure after the other to keep you wondering what will happened next. Now I go to find more of this authors book to enjoy. Happy reading!!
The development of the characters and the world were well done and I enjoyed the story. It was long, but I’m sad I finished it. I would enjoy more stories about Raven Alby!
I have read this series so long, the characters feel like old friends!! I soared with the dragons, fought by their sides and loved EVERY moment of reading! Thank you for sharing this wonderful series with us earthlings!!
I loved this series! It kept me up into the early morning hours on many nights when I could not put it down! I love to read a series that can keep my attention without a lot of swear words or sex, just great literature!
I thoroughly enjoyed this series and I hated for it to end. I sincerely hope that Martha Carr and Michael Anderson give us more of Raven Alby and Leander.
Great read, loved the characters AND the dragons of course. Great story telling. I enjoyed this series immensely. Sorry to get to the end of truth be told.
Definitely well worth the time. Very enjoyable and well paced. Characters well developed and with personality. It will be just as enjoyable the second read.
This series was great from start to finish! The characters were so well thought I can only thank Martha and Michael for the amount of time and creativity it took for them to complete The Warmage Saga!
