I ain’t never met a girl like her. She was more than just someone I wanted to bed and leave. From the first time I saw her, I knew my attraction to her was beyond just us sharing our love for music. She was the calm that settled my storm. She was destined to be mine.
He was the light I saw through the darkness. The one that held the cards to my future. What I thought would break me turned out to be what saved me. He was the symphony that serenaded my heart to become one with each lyric he spoke. He was the one to send music notes to my heart to make me believe that real love did exist.
Ma’am, you did that, ok? 👏🏾 Whew!! Even with me not reading the previous stories, I was able to keep up and find great enjoyment from this read.
Kema was just that chick! Although she was young, she had her head on straight, smart as hell, wise beyond her years, and knew what she wanted out of life. I giggled when she called out knowledge on that last tutor session. She is going to give him hell, I thought. 🤣 She knew even then that Knowledge was her person. She just needed to heal her inner turmoil enough to be ready for him. Until then bestie would have to suffice. For Kema to be the baby girl, she seemed to always be right in the middle of things trying to play peacekeeper. Taking on so much she was really starting to go through it.
Knowledge was taught early lessons that should have come later in manhood. The streets bred him, but his mother guided him to a better way. Finding his niche in music was his saving grace, and he would take advantage of his opportunity. Meeting Kema was a ray of light for Knowledge. She was young, and he knew that he shouldn’t be thinking about her in that way, but she was different. So different that he was intrigued and needed her positive energy around him as often as he could. The patience, support, and love that Knowledge gave to Kema was such a beautiful sight. When their time came, I knew it would be an incredible love.
Kenya girl? You are off the damn rails! 👀 I wondered what was going on with you, without knowing your backstory. However, when I did learn of what you experienced, I was heartbroken! 💔😥 She had held onto her pain for so long that when she needed to release it, it was exhibited in reckless behaviors. Sometimes folks have to hit rock bottom before they are able to get their complete redemption. I hope Kenya gets a story and finds the love that she deserves. Really enjoyed this read. Bravo!! 👍🏾👍🏾
The crew is back, and I couldn't be more excited! In this book, we follow the story of Kema and Knowledge. If you read and loved the “Freed” series, you'll also enjoy this story. Fans of Rosé and her mischievous antics will find plenty to appreciate here—get ready for some high-blood-pressure moments! There’s always a part in her books that makes me yell, "IKYFL," and this book was no exception. That’s why she’s an automatic read for me; honestly, she should be for you too!
Kema and her sisters were betrayed in the most horrendous way. What they suffered in childhood, they and the people in their current lives, were the ones who now had to pay.
Although Knowledge did not play about Kema, he soon realized their happy ever after may come with a cost of no peace ever!
I had the pleasure of reading The Rhythm to Her Heart before its release, and let me just say—I loved it then, and I love it even more now. If you’re not already familiar with Kema, Kenya, and Brownie/Kera, do yourself a favor and start with Ruined, Restored, and Freed. It’ll give you the context needed to fully appreciate the depth of these characters and their relationships.
I was fully invested in Kema & Knowledge, Kenya, and Cree—just to name a few. Kema’s maturity and self-awareness were beautiful to witness. The way she prioritized healing before fully embracing love? That was everything. And Knowledge? The patience, the pressure, the presence—he balanced it all perfectly. That dinner scene alone? He made it clear that he is that NIGGA, no questions asked.
I also love how this book stays true to the tone and heart of the previous ones while standing solidly on its own. Rose, you really did that.
Now… Kenya? Whew. She put me through it! I already know her story is going to leave me in shambles. Not sure who you’ve got in mind for her endgame, but I could totally see Rio—or even a triad dynamic with a male and female. Just putting that out into the universe!
Overall, this book is a gem. I know readers are going to fall in love with it just like I did.
If you haven't read the Pressure Series (Ruined, Restored & Freed) then I suggest you start there before diving into this one. We first met Kema/s character in Ruined and she had been through so much as a child so seeing her come into her own as a young adult and woman was nice to see. Knowledge was someone who we met briefly in Freed and saw a little more of in Holidays with the Moorings and saw the close bond that him and Kema formed.
I was happy to see that Kema still had a close relationship with Kera and Kamil was looking out for her in terms of her music career. Knowledge reminded me of a young Kamil in how he knew he wanted to be with Kema but waited for her to be ready to be with him on her terms. Although Kema was young she still was wise and knew it best that she not get into a relationship with anyone until she had some healings from the trauma of her past. Once she was ready for him it was on from there. Even though there was still some innocence on Kema's part, I liked the way that Ms. Dior wrote the book with the passing of time so we could see them both getting older and their love for each other growing through that time as well.
There definitely were some bumps along the way but with the help and advise of those around them they were able to get through some of their storms to see some brighter days and both have a future to look forward to as a couple and making music together. We got to see a little more of Kenya's character in this book as well and while she started off on a slippery slope I was happy that she finally agreed to get the help that she needed to get over what happened to her as a child as well. I would love to revisit this clan again but if this is the last book that we get to see them this was a nice end to their journey.
Knowledge and Kema did a lot of growing up from when the Pressure Series first started. I am glad that Kema realized within herself that she wasn't mentally ready to have a more sexual relationship with Knowledge until she was mended. Knowledge showed her kindness and patience while Kema was going through her healing process which showed the kind of man he is. Knowledge also showed his respect for Kema by not allowing himself to be dragged through social media with his outside sexual escapades. Lo Bozo got on my nerves sooo bad. I totally did not feel sorry for him one bit. He should have got somewhere and sat down. It was good to have updates from Kera, Kamil, Kenya and everyone else. Kenya went through some things in this book. I would never have guessed all of the mental anguish that she was suffering through. I loved Cree with his crazy self. He was who Kema needed to keep her straight. 😂😂 I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. Great job!!
Similar to “Freed” from the Pressure series it’s disturbing the years of depravity Kema (and her siblings). Yet to excel academically in spite of her experiences: witnessed & endured emotional, physical sexual abuse & neglect from her parents is/was a testament to her determination. More so, I’m amazed by the incredible fortitude of her guardian & role model Kera as a read more context of their formidable adolescent years😮💨. Nevertheless, “The Rhythm to Her Heart” (4.50 ⭐️’s) was another good read by Author Rosè Dior into the complex lives & romance journey of Kema & Ezriel. …who knew a few tutoring sessions would generate a friendship, best friends, a recording artist, a HS graduate & love too 💕 was in the proverbial air 🧐🤷🏾♀️⁉️Dang, Kema’s at eighteen was an anomaly 🤭‼️…Still “The Rhythm…” was entertaining, interesting & challenging read equally but “just wright”🥰‼️
Whew chile! At first I was mad because I’m like I have to go back to catch up before I read this lol. But I trusted my gut and cracked this open and it all came back to me. I absolutely loved Kema and Knowledge. They were young in age but not maturity. Just so many twist and turns I literally kept stopping because I was reading too fast lol. From cover to cover Ms Rose’ did her thing as always. I absolutely love when the author puts the links to other books within their writing so I can keep reading more of their work and other amazing authors.
I enjoyed finally getting Kema and Knowledge’s story. These two fell hard for each other at an early age but waited until Kema was ready to fully accept all the love he had to give her. I appreciated the maturity of both of them and how self aware they were. They truly went from best friends to lovers and I enjoyed seeing their journey. Now I’m looking forward to and hoping for Kenya to get her redemption story because baby girl had some healing to do to be her best self and I have a feeling if we get her story, her glow up will be amazing to witness.
Wow this was beautiful! It took a lot to get to their happy ending but they finally made it! Knowledge loved hard and anything threatening that had to be removed! Kenya had so much going on, I would love to see her get a happy ending too! Lo Renzo played with the wrong couple, he got handled. Ezriel aka Knowledge almost lost his life, but God had him. I have enjoyed every book so far! Looking forward to seeing where we go next! Great read Ms. Dior!!!
Kema was Knowledge tutor but was two years younger than him, he didn't even care he just knew that he was attracted to her. Kema had issues from her childhood but she knew that she wanted him too. With therapy and years they were able to come together and love on each other the way it was meant to be
I have enjoyed each of the books about the Morings and their families! I love all of the characters and how they always overcome adversity and end up on top! Ms. Dior is such an amazing author!
I ate this up. Kema stressed me out at some points but I loved all of this. Friends to lovers. He fell first and when I tell you Knowledge is that man! Believe me when I say it. He stood on business. He so intentional and patient with Kema. I definitely recommend TWs: sexual assault, child abuse
Good read. I enjoyed Kema and Ezriel🩷🩷 I love that they were smart enough to be friends and grow before commitment. Not dej loaf & Jacques though 🙄 that’s not the visual.
This was a good book in my opinion especially getting the opportunity to read about Knowledge and Kema going from crushing on each other teenagers to young adults in love. Kema, Kenya, and Kera went through so much héll growing up in the projects with an alcoholic mother and a pérvert father. I like the fact that Kema acknowledged the fact that she needed professional help and actually did the work so she could heal from past trauma and be her best version of herself. Kema knew that hurt people hurt people and she didn’t want to go into a relationship with Knowledge not being mentally ready for a relationship. I like that Knowledge patiently waited on Kema to heal and was the friend that she needed while also getting in position to be her man and safe place. Knowledge played no games when it came to his KP especially when she took him out of the friend zone. Knowledge said he wasn’t doing the girlfriend and boyfriend thing because he knew that Kema was the one for him. Them getting married was small and intimate but I really wanted to read about their wedding. I read a review that said Kenya’s spiraling made this book feel heavy and weighted down but in my opinion it was just right because we all knew that she was going to really have mental issues after being SA’d by her own father and cutting off her hair. Kenya spiraled out of control but her sisters love and dedication never wavered helping her regain her footing. I actually can’t wait to read Kenya’s book to see what career path she takes and if her and Rio stands the test of time. I hope she stays away from Niya because they bonded over trauma and she introduced Kenya to all kinds of heavy drugs that definitely aided to her spiraling downward. I like that we got to read K Millz, Kera, and the kids cameos and how K Millz was still that Nicca!
It's always a good time Reading books by this beautiful queen My only problem was mixing southern California with northern California outside of that always always great book it was extra funny ooh ooh wait a minute read the book read the book it is worth a reading never a dull moment I cried I laughed I cussed the book out I picked the book up put it back down it is definitely a page turner and you will definitely enjoy ITIT has something for everybody thank you queen for sharing your gift to stories telling
I DNFd very close to the beginning after a few references and event that were extremely off putting. First comparing a child to singer that was taken advantage of as a child is WILD. Honestly the first 40-50 pages I my face never moved from a frown. It’s written as if these are people in their earlier twenties but no at this point they are teenagers. And writing explicit sex about teenagers albeit in a flashback is very creepy like..how that was necessary 😭
After reading the rest of the books in this series, it was good to see that Kera and Kamil were still doing well and growing their family. It was also good to see that Kema grew to be an even smarter and more self-assured person than she was when we last read about her. Sadly, the same was not true for Kenya, and her trauma was so heavy that it kinda overshadowed the happiness for both Kera and Kema for me because the bad kept popping up from Kenya. Overall, it was good to catch up with this cast of characters again and see them further in the future, and the ending does give us higher hopes for them all, including Kenya. But for a good portion of this book, the dialog and scenarios are quite heavy, which distracted me from the blossoming love story between Knowledge and Kema and the happiness for their success. I didn't feel like I could relax or trust anything good in this book because of all of Kenya's trauma responses- which were understandable - but still kept me from leaning all the way in to the positives.
This was a refreshing palette cleanser, not what I use to from this author but she definitely did her thing writing this. It was a lot to take in with all of the trauma that the characters suffered I almost wanted to stop but knew that it was necessary to complete the entire story because things like this happen and we need to applause their come up and healing. I enjoyed it.
Very cute Friends to lovers book. I loved knowledge and Kemas story. He was so patient with her. He knew what he wanted and never switched up. I love a truth telling man no matter how hard the truths are.
Some stories don’t just entertain you...they move you. This one? It sank right into my spirit and stayed there.
Kema’s evolution was something powerful to witness. She’s a woman rebuilding from the ashes, learning that healing isn’t weakness, and that choosing herself first doesn’t make her hard... it makes her whole. Her journey from broken to brave felt like watching the sunrise after years of rain.
And Knowledge? That man embodied patience with purpose. He saw her, not for what she’d survived, but for who she was becoming. His energy was steady, grown-man gentle but firm- the kind of presence that protects your peace and matches your pace. When he finally decided to show up, every line hit like a heartbeat.
What I adored most was how nothing felt rushed. She gave these characters space to breathe, to stumble, to grow up in front of us. The time jumps were seamless, showing how love matures- how it stretches, forgives, and becomes something deeper than infatuation.
Kema’s bond with her people stayed strong too. The loyalty, the music, the unspoken language of shared pain and healing, it was all there. And Kenya? Whew. She almost had me pacing the room. Frustrating, raw, real. I need her story next, because that girl has something heavy to release.
This wasn’t just romance; it was rhythm and reflection. Rose writes with heart and heat, a mix of soft life and survival, love that feels earned, not borrowed. She knows how to make you blush one minute and sit in your feelings the next.
It gave me everything I came for- depth, desire, and a little chaos wrapped in care. If you’ve been riding with this series from Ruined to Freed, this feels like coming home. And if you’re new to the world? Start from book one. Trust me, you’ll feel every note.
Loved the fact that Kema was def outspoken...not lil bit stepping to Knowledge about how she knew what he felt...had me laughing. She is def wise beyond her years. Kema being the only one to refer to knowledge by his government was so sweet💜
I felt so bad for her and what she was going through with her sister. Kema and Knowledge were def so mature. I loved seeing them grow. Ms. Dior did an amazing Job showing the growth the progression over time with the characters. Them starting as friends and then forming that deeper connection and learning each other was beautiful
Chapter 3, Chapter 6...damn nearly broke me for sure, finding out that more happened to Kenya that she didn't tell her sisters...my gosh, i had to pause and take a breath. The drugs, the drinking.... shit. I do love that Kema though the youngest she was def wise beyond her years, love that she was striving to do her and keep her peace but still caring for her sis Kenya. Niya is a trifling ass hoe and Kema laying her ass out was def warranted. That poem that Kenya wrote lit broke my damn heart...it was painful, yet beautiful. I am happy sis got it together. Def would love to see her get a love story.
Lo Bozo ass....🥷🏾you cant compete where you don't compare....idiot.
Also Ps. The graveyard scene🤣🤣 This was such an amazing read seeing the growth of Kema and Knowledge and just knowing that they were meant to be. 100% recommend

This Story was Everything and worth the wait. I love Knowledge and Kema together. I loved the slow burn to their forever love. I hope Kenya gets a story. I loved the update on The Morings.
really enjoyed getting to see the evolution of friend-to-lover between Kema and Knowledge. The girls had a horrible childhood and that trauma spiraled over into adult years. Knowledge fell in love with Kema back in highschool and was determined to make her his.
