Until Fairhaven.

Lorelei has grown to love the small town with its multirealm crossroads and the residents who welcomed her with open arms, as well as those who were slow to warm up. She’s fallen in love with a demon prince, and befriended ghosts, a cursed vampire, the werewolf pack, and the Assassins Guild. She’s overcome her grudge against witches, and brought the local police into the fold. Now those residents are under threat, and Lorelei is the only one who can save them.

But first she has to save herself.

The stakes have never been higher. If she fails, she’ll have played a pivotal role in destroying the very place she swore to protect.

This is the end...sob sob

Sometimes when you come to the end of a series, it feels like so many questions are unanswered, a little too much sickening 'everyone is happy' schmaltz and you feel unsatisfied. This however, has ended the series in a beautifully written, wonderfully fitting and tear inducing (in a good way) finale. I cried, laughed, aww'd and oohed. Thank you Annabel for the perfect ending to the best series and world you have ever created.

Joyful sorrow

I'm so sad to have this wonderful series end, but what a finale! I sobbed (silently while reading way too late in bed with my spouse), I laughed, and I loved the twists and turns. Kudos to the author for a story (and series) well told...and for leaving space for some sort of related book(s) in the future!

*Thoughts*

Dead End, by Annabel Chase, is the Ninth and final chapter in the author's Crossroads Queen series. This urban fantasy saga has captivated readers with its supernatural intrigue and fiercely compelling protagonist, Lorelei Clay. The narrative picks up where Half Dead (Book 8) left off, with higher stakes than ever. Lorelei confronts formidable foes in a climactic showdown that tests her strength, resolve, and the bonds she’s forged throughout the series.

AMAZING SERIES!

I have enjoyed each and every book in this series. Each one has been a page turner, and I have to read them in one sitting. So many interesting characters that add so much to the stories, characters that you really care about. Love the romance of Kane and Lorelei, so meant to be! I thought that this concluding book in the series tied up all of the loose ends nicely. I always hate to say goodbye to some characters that I’ve enjoyed and there were many in this series. Everyone needs a Nana Pratt, Ray, and an extra hand every now and then. Also, a castle with a real mote, what’s not to love? ❤️

Good

Lorelei’s story comes to its long awaited conclusion in this book.
Held captive by the Corporation, Lorelei is desperate to find a way out and rescue Kane from the tender mercies of Lucifer.
One escape later, and she’s set everything in motion, a fight to keep Fairhaven, and her found family safe.

Lots happening in this book, with some truly satisfying results for the most part (I was a little uncertain about how I felt about the Underworld changes).
I won’t say much, other than all loose ends are tied neatly into a bow, and some good resolutions for the uncertain situations we had originally been left with at the start of the book.
I did enjoy the small epilogue especially.

This isn’t a standalone story, it’s the final part of a series, and builds upon all the books that went before it- you have to make sure that you read them all first! It’s an entertaining fantasy series, with an enjoyable storyline, interesting and unique storylines, and a fun mythological theme.
If you enjoy Greek mythology, mature heroines, and found family in your urban fantasy stories, then this is a series worth reading.

Very disappointing.
A plot and ending befitting a 10-year old.

A pity because the initial plots were good but the last couple were really clutching attempt to extend the storyline, but it was a lost cause.

Amazing

This is a very good end to a great series. I inhaled every book that came out. Reading it as soon as it dropped. I'm going to miss reading about these characters. Its always hard when a series ends. Even if it was a wonderful ending.

5 Stars are not enough

I have loved this series and this last book was a brilliant conclusion. Never thought I would be so invested in this genre but Annabel is such a gifted author and every book was an edge of the seat ride. I’m just sorry it’s now come to an end. I will miss all of the characters so much.

I highly recommend this series 1 click now you will not be disappointed

I’m so sad to be finished with this series. As a reader who typically reads horror and thriller I’ve always finished a hard going book and picked up one of these for comfort. All through the series it’s felt like I’ve been watching a tv series and I’ve loved it. Shed a few tears over Ray and Nanna Pratt crossing over.

Would’ve been a 5⭐️ but I hate it when strong female characters are revealed as pregnant at the end in order to receive their happy ending. I’m sure some people love it but it isn’t for me and unfortunately with this genre we see it all the time.

For most of this series, I was enjoying these books and the evolution of the storyline. Both this book and the one prior though were disappointing to me. There were so many side characters and the story just seemed jumbled and all over the place that I honestly became bored and lost interest. I really like the creativity of this series, but the execution by the author over the nine books just faded towards the end and wrapped up with a whimper, which is unfortunate. 2.5 stars.

I enjoyed the story and this book is a good ending for the series. It more lighthearted than my usual favourites, but I still loved it. That being said, I’m happy that the story is finished now.

AN EXCEPTIONAL AND EXTRAORDINARY SERIES ❤️❤️❤️ 5+++ Stars!!!

As an avid reader of many genres, I have been fortunate enough to read many books or series that are truly amazing. But, there are only a few that I consider to be on a league of their own. This series by the very talented Annabel Chase happens to be one of them. I was hooked by the very first page and just couldn’t get enough of this series. The FMC, Lorelei is out-of-this-world amazing. She is such a complex and unique character. She is fierce, smart, strong, sarcastic, funny, with a heart of gold and a non-nonsense personality. There is a progression to the story and you also get to experience the growth of Lorelei and the secondary characters (which also happen to be one-of-a-kind) with each book. This is a urban fantasy with an original story, action, adventure, a slow burn romance, funny moments and many surprises. When it comes to a series, the key issue to keep the reader engaged is to be able to bring new, exciting and unpredictable material to each and every book of the series. Annabel Chase managed to that and more. This final book was beautifully written and gives the reader a well deserved and very satisfying ending. I know the saying “all good things must come to an end”, but it is still a bitter-sweet moment since I just wanted more (yes, 9 books is a lot and yet) of this EXCEPTIONAL series. Very Highly Recommended 😍💖🥰

The end of a mother fucking era. This universe left a big impact on my heart, after reading nine books of this universe, I felt bitter sweet saying good bye to all the characters I have come to love so so much. Lorelie is one of the best female lead characters I have ever read in a book. Annabel did an amazing job with this entire series, I fucking love it.

This series will be one of my top most loved series where every book was intriguing and interesting. I was having a crazy fun time reading them all. I will miss this universe and all the characters in it. Love you guys!

Happy Reading!!

Spoilers

This book went by exceedingly fast. So fast that I felt like I had a bit of whiplash. For reference Lorelei escaped the corporation and everything was wrapped up with Lucifer in 75 pages. With 200 pages to go I wasn't really sure if there would be any actual content to read that wasn't fluff and filler.

The entire book just felt pretty lackluster. The last two books didn't really capture my attention all that much either, but I was close enough to the end that I figured I just finish out the series and although I won't go as far as to say that I wasted my time, I will say that it could have been time better well spent.

The climax and conclusion was extremely lacking. I understand that Lorelei is more human than goddess but the worst people end up in Tartarus. Adding in a country club, Scrabble, and daily strolls to m*rders, r*pists and the like seems pretty counterintuitive. Like I know she doesn't enjoy the whole torture scene, but maybe the gods that captured, enslaved, manipulated, killed thousands, destroyed worlds and more should be punished with more than a simple game of mini golf.

Plus the ending, although sweet, was pretty simple and predictable. I mean I always enjoy a happy ending but I guess I was looking for something a little bit more than her being pregnant and having family dinners on Sundays after her parents gave up the right to rule.

It was just a really disappointing ending to an already dying series. It started out great but you could tell the author was losing heart in her own work.

This final book of the series starts with Lorelei a prisoner of the Corporation and Kane a prisoner of Lucifer.
With a little help, Lorelei manages to escape and then free Kane. Then the fun begins! Her new life seems to be going okay, Kane has moved in and all her friends seem to be safe. Unfortunately, danger keeps coming.
With the belief that the Corporation will always be coming after her, Lorelei decides to do what her aunt Hestia wants (and what the Corporation wanted her to do) and move back to Hades.
There are a bunch of surprises when Lorelei gets to Hades, some of her memories return and a visit to Tartarus, brings back more.
When she finally realizes that the Corporation only wanted her in Hades to leave the Crossroads unsecured, then the book really comes together.
There is a lot of action, magic, magical creatures, gods, and ghosts. There is some humour and great relationships.
This finally completes Lorelei’s journey to the Crossroads and Fairhaven, and it is done in a wonderful manner.
I am unhappy that there will be no more books in this series as I’ve loved all of it.

I love Annabel Chase books, and this one is no exception. Her knowledge of mythology, creatures, and everything in between create such a vivid world, and it’s bittersweet that the series is over.

Lorelei’s story is as much about gods and goddesses, as it is about growth, self discovery and realising the strength in letting people in. This book did a wonderful job of showing how her growth throughout the series was realised, but perhaps my only criticism was the fact that things probably could’ve afforded to be more violent to get the pay off for the high stakes. However, in contrast, it definitely kept for a lower stakes, cosy paranormal urban fantasy.

I laughed, I cried, and I highlighted several quotes that will stick with me. So thank you Annabel, for another incredibly series 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

beautiful

I’ve greatly enjoyed following Lorelei through her journey. I found the first book accidentally from stumbling around and I’m so glad I did. Lorelei is a beautiful person and hilarious. Her journey was not easy but this final book ended with a wonderful result for her and her family/friends. To watch her grow and learn to let people in little by little, learning more about herself and her past through out. She has the most incredible heart and protective instincts. I’m so happy she found love as well. The world the author created is also amazing. I’m an avid reader and I found this series enjoyable. I truly enjoyed reading all 9 books and found myself not wanting to let go. Thank you for this wonderful series Annabel Chase!

Well, the title Dead End seems fitting since this series had really hit a dead end for me and if this would not have been the last book I would probably have dropped it anyway.

It had already gone off the rails, as far as my preferences goes. Instead of being the fairly nice little story about Lorelei in this small town with a high percentage of various supernaturals it just went everywhere with Gods and nefarious companies and whatnot.

In this book Valerie escapes from the company, goes to hell, starts to whine and wants to leave Fairhaven, comes back of course and so on and so forth.

This series was really not my cup of tea any more so I am quite happy that it has come to it’s (dead) end.

While I loved the series, I was disappointed by the last two books. Here there was everything neatly finished off. But it was a lot to finish off in one book. Some of this should have been resolved in previous books.
And I love happy ends, still, here the good vibes were a bit too much, especially given the dark theme of this series.
Still, I enjoyed most of these books, the world in itself and all these wonderful quirky characters. The romance between Kane and Lorelei started strong. In the end I missed the sparkle, them - again - not having enough room to grow together. In the end it was more tell than anything deep truly showed. Unfortunately.
But I‘m going to miss these characters.

I've read and enjoyed a lot of Annabel Chase's books and I've liked this series in particular. Sad to see it end, but particularly sad to see it end in such a rush. Given the slow build up over the preceding eight books, everything seemed to get resolved in five minutes flat. It seemed to me that there was enough going on to take up at least another book or two. As it was, it gave the impression that someone had told the author she had to get it done in one book and it all got dashed through far faster than it could have been.

Good book

I'm not a fan of time jumps, especially when I don't know there's a time jump. It went from one chapter to another... which was the end. This was a good book and has a good ending. I felt like something was missing like more storyline. I do feel like the ending was rushed, and the action wasn't as much as I thought it would be. That being said, there were questions answered with a few surprises. I would recommend this series it is a great one. Overall, I give this story a B.

Series finale. Plenty of action. Some feel good moments for Lorelei as she finally regains her memories and understands what it means to have a team with her - friends and family. Bouncing locations from Paradise (Corporation) to the Underworld to Fairhaven. There is a ton of "I have to be the one to save the world" angst that gets a bit frustrating and resulted in some skimming. Otherwise, the wrap up works pretty well - even though it seemed really abrupt. Nice Epilogue to finish it all off.

This seems to the last in the series, for now at least. It brings the conclusion of the story to a satisfying end. Lorelei starts the book in a very sticky situation where the corporation has collared her and she's trapped while Kane too is trapped and being tortured.
Lucifer has it seems joined forces and there is no stopping the corporation. But Lorelei has to battle because everything is at stake and in her quest to bring peace to Fairhaven, she calls in all of her allies to help.
Will she survive? well read it and see.

Okay writing, good conclusion

I have enjoyed this series as a light, fun read with characters that grow and make a humorous found family. This book jumps right in where we left off and I will say stuff happens fast. I wasn’t really in it so much as just turning the pages and reading if that makes sense. About halfway through it does slow down some and actually tell a story which was nice. It was a good conclusion and though this book wasn’t the best of the series, it did tie everything up nicely.

So good

I love the relationships that Annabel develops among her characters. No one is allowed to be supreme and all-powerful. As is right by the powers of the universe. I didn't have a vision of Paradise and love how mundane it was even with monsters wandering around the compound. The opener is still my favorite. Who knew there was power in knock knock jokes??? Looking forward to the next series.

Another Great Series

I always hate coming to the end of a series, especially when written by a writer I enjoy so much.

Lorelei is my favourite character of Ms Chase. She's smart, loyal, and carries more responsibility on her shoulders than she should. In this book, the day of reckoning with the Corporation. There's also a happy reunion and a well deserved HEA.

I will miss her. On to the next book!
