Curse Titone was a friend to me once. The sweet boy who saved me from drowning on Sicilian shores.
But the cherub-faced child I knew more than twenty years ago is gone. Now, Curse is Toronto's most merciless assassin. A soulless shadow of the innocent boy I once adored. A monster.
But when I find myself trapped, terrified, with blood pooling at my feet and no one else to turn to... I know a monster is the only one who can help me.
Even if that monster demands a sacrifice. Even if that sacrifice is me.
A Monster so Merciless is a dark mafia romance. It is recommended to read the preceding books in the series for background information on the Titone family, but it is not necessary. This is part one of a duet.
🖤 “My f❤︎ck!ng angel.” ~~~ Aurora is amazing! She’s such a strong and resilient woman, especially with everything that has happened to her when she was just a child. Even more, I loved her courage and her kind heart. Aurora is a wonderful woman and I loved her so, so much!
And then, there’s Curse Titone - the most ruthless assassin of the Titone family! Curse is cold, dangerous, remorseless and deadly - he’s definitely a man very few would dare mess with. Even more, he fiercely protects what’s his and doesn’t hesitate for even a second to go after what he wants. Curse is an intense and utterly irresistible man and I adored every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Aurora and Curse! Once they were friends, but what happened with Elio and Curse’s family tore them apart. Now, almost two decades later, their fates entwine again. I loved Curse and Aurora together! Their chemistry was off-the-chards from the very beginning. And there was so much tension and longing. Even more, now more than ever, Aurora needs not a knight in shining armor, but a monster to keep her safe. And Curse is the right assassin for the job.
Overall, A Monster So Merciless is another fantastic addition to the series and I absolutely loved every single page of it! And with that cliffhanger in the end, I cannot wait to see how Aurora and Curse’s story will continue.
I love Vero’s Titans and Tyrants series and have been eagerly waiting for Curse’s story. Now that it’s here, I didn’t want it to end! I admit I could do without the duets, but honestly, it just keeps me coming back for more!

Curse and Aurora have known each other for over 20 years. They had crushes on one another, and as they got older, that crush for Curse turned into an obsession. He gives her his number and vanishes for years. Now, the man she married just hours ago is surrounded by a pool of blood, and she has no one else to call but Curse. She knows he is the only man who can help her.
He will do anything to protect her, even marry her to keep her from being charged with her husband's murder.
💀OBSESSED with her
🖤Knows she loves lemon and fills the house with lemon treats
🩸He kept the same number for 12 years just in case she ever needed him
💀Can’t bear to see her cry
🖤Only one bed 😈
🩸Handcuffs her to him or the bed
💀Buys her everything she wants and more
🖤His list of demands for him to give her a divorce 😂talk about possessive
These cliffhangers are so brutal, and I can’t wait to read what happens in An Angel so Wingless.
We know from the other books that Curse is hung up on a girl he knew as a child. So he doesn’t sleep around or date or want to marry. Aurora was 6 when she met Curse in Taormina. He was a child himself, but he saved her life. Aurora’s papa had her spending time with Curse and his mother. She loved him, but after the fire that claimed his mama he moved to Canada with his brother. She never got to talk to him again, but she didn’t forget him. They have one other encounter before he shows up on her wedding night to unalive her husband. Now she’s in Canada with him and he’s the only one who can keep her safe. I love these two!! Curse has been such a mystery and I love how he’s trying to hard to keep himself in check. He values control and basically doesn’t give a sh!t about anything, but Aurora gets under his skin. He’s never gotten her either, he’s dreamt about her and obsessed over her most of his life. I think she was this bright spot in his life before everything went so bad. He was the same for her and it’s so heartbreakingly sweet that the summer they spent as little kids has such profound meaning for them 🥹🥹🥹 This book does leave us on a cliffy and I’m so ready for the next book!!! I need more of Curse!!!!
This has been my favourite, I think, so far of this series because as much as I enjoyed Elio and Darragh they were a bit too forceful for me to adore them.
Comparatively, Curse is practically a feminist king. I also very much appreciate that Aurora is 28 and Curse is 30 because age gaps are fine but icky when one of them is 19.
I love being in Canada. There are so many excellent stories and authors here and I get the happiest little tickle every time I read Toronto, Montreal, Barrie. I’m not even from the east.
I cannot wait, absolutely cannot wait, for April when the next book comes out. These cliffhangers are killing me.
