Such a great entry into this book! Jane Futcher takes us right into the childhood dilemma of her character Jill who, as a young girl, is wrestling with what her desire for another female means--in this case, her teacher! Jill's early fantasies give us a hint that this character is full of irony and humor that will together delight readers from the beginning of the novel to the end. We watch Jill gather wisdom along the way, while sharing her sometimes unwitting experiences with more experienced partners. All of Jill's adventures add joy to the reading experience. I encourage everyone looking for a lovely and loving escape to pick up these stories of Jill's world, her depth of realizations, tears stemming from amazing connections with others, and her laughter over life's predicaments that we can all recognize.
