Threats don’t shake him... She’s a different story.
When a terrified whistleblower reaches out to journalist Brooke, she’s thrown into a deadly race to expose the truth. Then her source vanishes. Her car’s sabotaged. And someone clearly wants her story buried—permanently.
The last thing she expects is Caleb—a brooding, ex-Green Beret turned bodyguard—showing up on her doorstep.
She doesn’t want protection. He’s not asking for permission.
But when her source turns up dead, the danger gets personal—and Brooke becomes the next target.
The threat is real. The stakes are lethal. Caleb’s locked, loaded, and ready to do whatever it takes.
Because when the mission goes off the rails, and the woman you’re protecting becomes everything—
Falling in love shouldn’t be this dangerous—but Jorgia Yates wouldn’t have it any other way.
She writes Christian Romantic Suspense with protective heroes, courageous heroines, and a faith that holds strong when everything else falls apart.
Jorgia married her teenage sweetheart (after a very awkward meet-cute in the 90s), and together they’re raising two amazing children on the spectrum.
Living with chronic illness means her world is a little smaller—but her imagination is anything but. So while real life includes rest, resilience, and lots of grace, her characters chase danger, dodge bullets, and fall hard for the kind of love that protects—body and soul.

Deadly Force is the first book I've read by Jorgia Yates and it won't be the last. This story of Caleb and Brooke kept me reading until the end. Brooke is a journalist who won't give up on a story that is getting more and more dangerous. Caleb has been asked by her brother to protect her, mostly because she just doesn't stop and think about the danger just the story. The twists and turns in the story were great just enough to keep me guessing, but the ending totally blew me away!!
This book is fantastic and I enjoyed reading it from beginning to the end. Jorgia's books are Christian books that you never have to worry about cussing or sex scenes and if sure is good to see more and more Christian writers joining the world of Arthur's. I for one love that I can listen to a book and now be worried about my grandchildren hearing something they should not be hearing.
This is a book about Brooke Weston from Tuscan, Arizona and Caleb Evans. Brooke is a journalist and a whistleblower that is terrified has contacted her to get a story public. She knows her company is doing wrong and she wants them exposed. Brooke is supposed to meet the whistleblower at a certain location and when she does not show up and Brooke returns to her car the tires are all slashed. Brooke contacts her older brother and complains and tells him what is going on. Her brother runs a security company that helps people like her that need help and keeps them safe. So the next thing she knows Caleb Evans shows up on her doorstep. Caleb is a brooding, ex-Green Beret that is now a bodyguard and he has been sent to protect Brooke. She does not see the need for protection so Caleb and her do not agree right from the beginning but Caleb feels the need to protect Brooke at any cost.
The next thing Brooke hears is that her source is dead and her death is made to look like she killed herself. Police are now involved in the case and then Brooke is shot at, a friend helping to protect her is shot and Brooke and Caleb are growing closer and closer. What will happen next? Who is behind her sources murder?
Jorgia Yates just delivered yet another awesome book. * It is a book you just can't put down until the suspense is resolved. She surprised me again when the culprit is revealed. I wasn’t expecting * It is very thought provoking.
Strong Character: * As a reporter, Brooke Weston knows how to ask the right questions. * She has strong values. * She seeks out the truth & wants to make it public.
Military Men / Heroes: * Caleb & Mateo are former military men who demonstrate the very strength of character that deserve the honor, dignity, and respect that they lived & earned. Their service to our country whether it is public or private based is honorable . * Heroes should be brought forward and recognized for their actions, courage, dedication and sacrifice. Doing the right thing usually isn't the easy path. Following the crowd, current opinion, etc. may be easier, but easy comes with a price tag that must be paid (sometimes now and sometimes later).
Thought Provoking Idea (1 example): “People see what they want to see, help who they want to help. The rest get filed under "someone else's problem" until it's too late to matter.” (Quote from Chapter 14) * This is just one thought in this book & in my heart, it is so true. * I found that Brooke and Caleb see the world without the apathy so prevalent today.
Christian Romance / Suspense: * Yes that describes this book, but what I saw (read) was characters practicing their faith (praying, reading their bible), not preaching or imposing their faith or beliefs on others.
Overall, this is a well written book full of twists & turns that will keep you engaged from the beginning to the very end.
I received a free advance review copy from BookSirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
These books just keep getting better! I don’t want to give away anything from the book, so I’ll say this was a roller coaster with lots of twists and turns. It kept me at the edge of my seat at times and I didn’t want to put it down.
Don’t miss this book!!

Deadly Force, by Jorgia Yates, is a gripping, fast-paced book that kept me reading - until I reached the end!! Caleb and Brooke are forced to work together again to keep her safe, much to her chagrin. Even though she denied needing protection, as an Investigative Journalist, the truth seemed seemed to rock her world. Her fears and her credibility were held hostage as she fought reality to fight back.
Throughout the story, Caleb and Brooke fought for their reasons to do their jobs, as their collaboration allowed them stay relatively safe, as they searched to find answers. Brooke's "tools of the trade" and Caleb's resources allowed them to fight to the end. I truly loved this book, as well as the dedication they displayed to each of their jobs.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars and I admit it will definitely be one that I read again in the future!! I received this book from the author for a truthful review of the book, "Deadly Force."
Deadly Force from the first page, weaves twisted truths into a relentless chase. Caleb commands admiration with his quiet strength & unshakable patience, while Brooke’s reckless pursuit of answers keeps you exasperated. Tension simmers as danger closes in, matched by a slow-burn romance that sparks in just the right moments. Sleek, sharp, & suspenseful.
Deadly Force is fantastic! I am a big Jorgia Yates fan and was eagerly anticipating Deadly Force, book 5 in the High Tower Security series. It was so good that I read it in one day. I didn't want to put it down! She kept Brooke, Caleb, and High Tower Security on their toes in the race against evil until the very end, and it was a very satisfying ending! <3 Caleb is a mighty warrior, both spiritually and physically! Brooke's drive for discovering the truth and the risks she takes in pursuit of truth keep Caleb relying on his relationship with the Lord. He is solid and lives out his faith.
I appreciate Brooke's personal growth and self-discovery! As she is confronted with the consequences of her choices and the lies she tells herself, she turns to the Lord in a very real and natural way. I am thankful that Jorgia Yates, through Brooke's investigations, doesn't back down from handling very challenging topics in a caring, sensitive way. Brooke tenaciously and unashamedly exposes dark evils in society, deals with delicate social injustices, and works to make the world a better, safer, and more God honoring place!
I am so thankful to have been given this book to read and share my excitement about it! I can't wait for the next High Tower Security book! I highly recommend the whole series!
Brooke is passionate about exposing the truth - to the point where she forgets about her own safety and that of those around her. Caleb has been sent by her overprotective (in Brooke's opinion) brother to protect her and has his work cut out for him as she disagrees she needs help and is not good at following safety instructions if she can see the chance for a story. I really liked how Brooke came to realise that her focus on her getting the story and relying on herself wasn't healthy, I loved how Caleb showed prayer is an important part of protection. Most of all I liked the unashamedly Christian focus and the reminder that if people don't stand up for what is right, even when it is costly, then evil will prevail. I received an ARC but this review is my own.
Wow, is the only thought that came to mind as I was reading Deadly Force. This story is filled with action, faith, suspense and adventure. It is a bit different to the others in the series, as the Hightower team doesn't make as many appearances. As Deadly Force is Book 3, I would highly recommend reading the earlier books in this series first, but it is a standalone story.
Brooke and Caleb are awesome! From Brooke's dogged determination of the truth, to Caleb's quest for justice and safety, Deadly Force is filled with nonstop action. There were so many unexpected twists and turns, and despite being a seasoned suspense reader, I had no idea who the bad guy was.
If you enjoy Christian romantic suspense novels, filled with faith, action and suspense or books by Susan May Warren, Dee Henderson, Lynette Eason, or Nancy Mehl, then I'm sure you'll enjoy Deadly Force.
I can't wait to read book 4 in this series, and Jorgia is fast becoming one of my favourite authors.
I received a complimentary copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
Good addition to the series: I enjoyed this sweet Christian romantic suspense and liked both Brooke and Caleb. Their relationship wasn't very complex and the book's focus was mainly on the suspense and investigative aspects, which were well done. I also liked the unapologetic and strong Christian message that was woven throughout. I was disappointed though with how this just picked up from where the last book ended and it was as if the author not only expected readers to have read all of the books in the series, but to remember all of the details. Despite having read the preceding books, I still had difficulty recalling everything that had transpired and even who all of the characters were. It really could have done with more explanations and backstory. That being said, I still look forward to seeing what is going to happen next. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
I really enjoyed this fast paced story. I liked that Brooke was dedicated to her job and how she matured during the story. Caleb was great at trying to support her working on the story while protecting her from the escalating danger. I appreciate how his faith makes him better at his job and how prayer is just a natural response for him. It gives a glimpse of how hard it is to work for a newspaper and some of the difficult stories that are covered. This story will keep you guessing until the end. Definitely will want to read more Hightower Security stories.
I was glad to receive a free advance copy and am voluntarily leaving this review.
Action packed storyline moved at a good pace, was detailed, and full of twists and turns. Likeable, relatable characters. Storyline was intense at times, was well written, and kept my interest throughout the story. Lots of action packed scenes. Characters journey together was entertaining. Highly recommend.
Heart wrenching, action packed, Christian fiction, with a well written storyline! This book definitely kept me guessing and flipping pages long into the night! It doesn’t shy away from some hard truths that we live with in this world. The main characters are well developed with good supporting characters that make you want to read the other books in the series if you haven’t yet! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I would definitely recommend this book.
Brooke is a journalist who wants the truth and pursues it with a passion. Her brother runs Hightower Security and when she calls after a bad experience (all her car tires being slashed), he sends an operative, Caleb to watch over her. That turns out to be a much more difficult assignment than it appears. Brooke doesn't listen and disobeys what her protector tells her more often than not. That seem to put her (and others around her) into a lot of danger.
Her boss constantly waters down her articles or denies her story ideas right up front. This doesn't stop her quest for the truth and sometimes ends up with her sources in trouble as well.
How does Caleb deal with this fireball? Does he help or hinder her seeking the truth on the story she is after? Is she following a red herring or the actual truth?
This is a fun story and Caleb helps her to start bringing her faith as a more integral part of her journey.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Brooke has already been saved by Hightower Security once before and it seems like she'll need them again. Caleb is the one who rescued her the first time and he's by her side again. How far will she go to get the truth? How many lives are effected by what she's uncovered so far? Her faith has been low but realizes that you just have to let go and let God lead. I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Deadly Force by Jorgia Yates is the third book in the High Tower Security series. It is a suspenseful book based on Christian principles. The story is captivating and wonderfully put together with beautiful characters that keep you interested until the end. You will meet old friends from the previous books in the series. The story reads smoothly but keeps you on your toes. A great book to read.
Full of lingering suspense from the start this story takes you in a grip.Brook and Caleb’s story is raw, full of emotions and sweet.Brook is inquisitive and eager to find a story to write. Caleb is a protector. Both are drawn to their jobs and don’t give up until it is finished.
This is a well written and entertaining story. The characters are captivating and complex. The storyline is well developed and intriguing. I enjoyed reading from the first page to the last.
I loved this closed door romance! Nothing like big brother sending a bodyguard to keep his little sister safe! Sparks fly when the two of them get stuck together.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
I was really getting annoyed with Brooke when she just kept barrelling ahead to get her story without thinking of the cost to anyone else. The story is about letting faith lead you, as well as meeting danger with courage, and deciding what your motivation is for doing what you do. Caleb came to protect her, and he's learnt to put his trust in a higher power. It's difficult for him to trust that she'll listen to him when he's trying to keep her safe, and she keeps running off and exposing herself to danger.
Another great book in the Hightower Security series by Jorgia Yates. Brooke is a reporter looking for The story and agrees to meet her informant late at night behind the library that shuts off its outside lights at 10:30 every night. Caleb is an operative for Hightower. Their last meeting didn’t go great and he’s in no hurry to see her again. However, when she reports that all four of her tires were slashed, Caleb is sent to check in with her and keep her safe. Can he keep her safe and his feelings hidden? Intense in parts heartwarming in others. *I received this as an ARC reader and am leaving my unbiased review.
Yates is still the new kid on the block, with this being her third full length suspense novel. She does have a prequel novella that I believe is still free for signing up for her newsletter.
The first two books in this series were great. I totally loved them, and devoured them. So doing no disservice to Collision Course (#1) and Lethal Deceit (#2), the author has truly found her groove in this third novel. It was a truly awesome word, and I am not overusing that word here.
The writing was truly well done. Yates did a perfect blend of suspense, romance, drama, faith, and even humor. I found myself chuckling out loud a few times, such as the thought of a 6 foot plus former military guy sleeping on essential oil scented Strawberry Shortcake sheets.
I liked the main characters. A lot. Brooke was determined to seek out the truth, with no thoughts to her safety. Caleb was determined to keep her safe, no matter what she thought of him.
The plot was a great well thought out one, and the author kept the characters and the readers in the dark a bit about what was really going on.
And I have to say kudos to the author for her pro-life message in the book.
I can't end this review without mentioning the faith aspect. The author wove it seamlessly throughout the story, giving some truths through her characters in a way that resonated without being what some people call "preachy." I read some things regarding faith that I needed.
The suspense was pretty much non-stop, and I read the book in one sitting, not wanting to put it down.
With this latest suspense novel, Yates shows she has her place on the Christian fiction market. I am already looking forward to the next book in this great series.
Special thanks to the author for an advance e-book copy of this novel. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.
4⭐️Star Read I enjoyed this book. I love a good Christian Romantic suspense read. Loved the romance between Caleb and Brooke!! I also loved the funny parts in this book. Loved how overprotective her brother Mick was over her and asked someone to help protect her. Brooke is an investigative reporter and she just want to investigative and write her story without caring about her safety and what happends to her. And She felt responsible for the girl Eliza who she was talking to her and she got killed. And I loved how protective Caleb was over Brooke and also trying to keep her safe. I also loved how she brings God in the book and seeing both Caleb and Brooke's relationship with God. I like Mateo too in the book and that he helped protect her too. I love Brooke's mom in this book and how much she cared for Brooke and Mick. And I loved hearing more of Samantha and her brother Mick and them getting married. And I was so happy when Caleb fell in love with Brooke. I didn't like Detective Crowley in this book and how he was with Brooke. And I also liked Reese in this book too and how he protected Brooke too. Also liked Delilah in this book has well. And I also hated Lawrence and how he treated Brooke in this book. But I am glad that Brooke with the help of Caleb found out what happend to Eliza and other girls and she got justice for them and also wrote their story. And that Caleb saved Brooke at the end. And I am so happy that they got an happy ending together and I can't wait to read the next book. This book has good romance and suspense in the book. I want to thank the author Jorgia Yates and BookSirens for giving me an ARC of this book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This novel is a good addition to the series. It has plenty of action and a solid hero. Caleb is like a brick. He is a rock hard fellow and his character development reflected his dedicated attitude toward protecting Brooke. He does show his soft heart with respect to a mistreated elderly person in a care facility, however. As disciplined as Caleb is, Brooke is a free spirit and gets herself into more trouble than Caleb can keep up with. That a romance might develop between them seems an impossibility.
Part of the plot involves an abortion clinic so potential readers should be aware of that possible trigger situation.
Yates' novel has strong characters, lots of action, a very strong faith message and a surprising bit of humor. I recommend it to readers who like inspirational romantic suspense. While it can be read on its own, the previous novels do give character background information to better enjoy this one.
I received a complimentary egalley of this book through BookSirens. My comments are an independent and honest review.
Is there a place to leave 6 stars? Maybe 12? Because that’s what this book deserves. The Hightower saga continues in Deadly Force, picking up characters in previous books in this series. Brooke is still investigating, still stirring up trouble with her unrelenting search for truth, but her voice is being stifled. When a current investigation hits too close to those in power Brooke’s life is threatened and Hightower comes to help in the form of Caleb Evan’s. Those elements alone would make this a book worth reading. The real value comes in the divine truth tucked into conversations and quiet musings. There is also laughter and suspense and the sweet thread of romance that filters into this well crafted story to leave the reader wanting more. It can be read independent of the earlier books but better enjoyed in the sequence written. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
(4.5) Fast paced, suspenseful, thought provoking page turner that delivers the goods. Caleb ex military (special forces) works with Hightower Security. Brooke investigative journalist found her tires slashed. Her brother Mick also works for Hightower and requested a bodyguard, or as Caleb says, a babysitter. I was getting irritated with Brookes tenaciousness, (being nice here), but when it all gets wrapped up I understood. The premise of her investigation happens in reality and is a hot button item. Caleb grabbed me with his openness in his faith, his dealing with all the horrible realities and still having his faith. When he spoke to Brooke towards the end I thought he was talking to me, but I am not tenacious. I love this series and the good Lord willing it will continue for ever and a day. Thank you for the advanced copy. I freely share my honest thoughts and opinions. #DeadlyForce #HightowerSecurity #JorgiaYates #JorgiaYatesPublishing #Booksirens,
Brooke, being a dedicated investigative journalist, would not let anybody or anything put her off a lead. Not even her interfering and loving brother from Hightower or having her tyres sabotaged. Caleb is sent to check on her, but her leads keep on disappearing. I was so enthralled with the chase, leads and side-line of attraction, that time flew by, the pages turned themselves until there was not more to turn. A plot that kept me guessing and suspicious of behaviour right to the end, which in itself had an extra twist in the tail. One you just don't see coming. Jorgia Yates has outdone herself with this book. She has pointed out a relationship with God that I wish I can claim. One so intimate the we all can have, we just have to reach out I was privileged to receive a copy prior to release and this is my honest and voluntary review.
This is a Christian suspense romance that will have the readers on the edge of their seats from beginning to end. Brooke Weston is an investigative reporter who finds herself in danger after the whistleblower that confided in her disappears. It appears someone knows what she’s discover and Brooke finds herself in danger. It’s obvious someone wants her dead. Caleb Evans is a former Green Beret and nowadays a member of Hightower Security. He is a quiet, patient man determined to keep Brooke safe, even when she can be reckless. As the suspense increases, so does the attraction between these two as does their belief in God. The plot was engaging, the characters well developed as was their faith. Readers of Susan Sleeman will find this series worth their time. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
