"There is no way, Micah Landing, the w#ore of the seven seas, is getting married."~Ally
Micah Landing has now... landed!🛩️🫡 I was waiting for his story and wondered what new and fascinating things would happen with him in Laketown at the infamous Pink Hotel.🏩 He made a strong impression in Book 1, and while this is Book 2, you can definitely read it as a standalone. Ms Hunter did a through job to touch base and not leave any confusion of who and what. History was shared. Now Micah, a 35yr old billionaire, wasn't your typical run of the mill type of guy. He doesn't have his life together. Not really. He's restless. Ambitious. He's trying to do things his way but his Dad and Grandfather, well, they have other ideas for him. ((He needs to get married.)) Micah, how should I put this, that guy was a player with no thoughts outside of himself. A love 'em and leave 'em type. One night stand and then ghost. Women fell hard for him. But Micah has never been in love. What is that? Well readers, this man was about to find out.😈😈 And while at a masked ball at the Pink Hotel he sees 'Athena' looking mysterious and attractive. He set his eyes on her and approached knowing there was no way he was going to let her slip away. He's about to get his flirt on. To him, Laketown was boring. But 'Athena' was about to make it a whole lot better.😚😚😚
Carly Huntley had already met Micah before. But hearing about his exploits by the other women she was sitting with made her curious. Seeing him approach and entice her was unexpected. See, Carly isn't afraid of one night stands. She doesn't do relationships. Hook-ups are fine with her. She's no shrinking violet. Or as Carly put it in the story: "I'm not exactly a shrinking daisy."lol And Carly wants to play and explore with Micah. The man was looking fine. It's about to get hot and heavy with these two.😝😝 The attraction burned and sizzled. Especially once Micah unmasked his Greek goddess and saw Carly's face. Surprise!!!🥳🥳 Did it stop them? Heck nooo. If anything it made it much better.
Expect plenty, and I mean plenty, of non-stop spice between Micah and Carly.🥵🔥🫦🔥🥵 It was on like Donkey Kong!!hehe Mild BDSM. Teasing. Ohh the teasing. Can't get enough. Let's do this. NOWW. Hurry. Up. Now, I felt the first half was very different from the second half of the story. It's not a bad thing, it just shifted and made me wonder why that was. The first half was Carly dealing with her family trauma drama, her losing her college scholarship, needing money, and getting an unexpected proposition from Micah. She dealt with trying to be seen as more than her family and her last name. Her family wasn't the best. But Carly was the best out of them. Micah wants to create another business venture with architecture. That's his passion. Aside from Carly. He needs more money. He can get more capital from his Grandfather by getting married. The fake fiancée trope. Carly has to say yes. It could work for them both. Shopping in LA like Pretty Woman.🛍️💃💎 Classic. Having banter. Talking about different classes of people. B/c Micah is upperclass and Carly wasn't. Food Bank. Even a secret being revealed. Carly defending Micah. That girl stood up for him. You go girll. It was snowballing. The lies. Meanwhile, the intimacy kept growing.💋🌶️🌶️🌶️ Out of control with emotions that were being ignored. Ms Hunter put these two in a tailspin. The romance has been shook.😸😸 I felt Carly didn't take anyone's crap, she was direct. I loved it. But in the 2nd half she was very different. The sass was gone. Her insecurities seem to be front and center. Especially with Tate. Why? And the suspense. It had one mention in the first half then it waited to touch on it again in the last 7 chapters. There was no build-up leading towards it. And the comedy in the 2nd half was great. I loved it. More please. But why not add some of that flavor in the beginning too. Why wait? Bring on more goofy playful Micah.🤣🧘🤣 Yoga. Fighting in the restaurant/bar. The nudist troop moment.
I liked it!! Despite those little things I mentioned it didn't take me out of the story. It was a good: I finally see the light to love and romance. About time. I liked Micah and Carly. They were good together. Micah, it was nice to see him grow up. Finally. He was overprotective. Jealous. Enamored. Funny. And I appreciate when a man can purr and say please.🤭 Carly. Girll. You need to talk about your feelings. Stop covering it up with s*x. Communication. Use it. If you can be intimate, you can use your words.😉 Carly's character also grew with confidence. Her man showed her she was enough and she finally believed it. There's a HEA. And a possible set-up for the next book. I saw that man.🤵👀 I do recommend. Happy reading.*•>§<•*🩷🩷🩷🩷
👩🎭👨🏻🦰Thank you to Ms Hunter and Bookfunnel for an early book. The opinions shared here are my own.👨🏻🦰🎭👩
I thoroughly enjoyed this smalltown fake relationship romantic suspense with its added reformed playboy, class disparity, surprise pregnancy tropes and a bit of "Pretty Woman" vibes. The plot is very well written and filled with emotion, humor, danger, mystery and lots of steam. The characters are very likable. Micah seems immature, superficial and pleasure-seeking at first, but as the story progresses you get to know his depths. Carly is a no-nonsense girl who, because of her insecurities and loyalty to her eccentric family, feels like a misfit and fears rejection. I loved their witty banter and the sizzling chemistry between them. I hadn't read the previous book, but the story often picks up on events from the first installment that affect this plot, but have no bearing on this love story. You also meet the characters from the previous book again. The book can be read as a standalone, but I still recommend reading the series in order.
Playboy and billionaire's son Micah Landing wants to sell his shares of the Pink Hotel, leave the boring small town of Laketown behind and set up his own business, but the deal is boycotted by his father. When he turns to his grandfather for help, his grandfather expects him to marry properly soon. There is only one thing to do: he needs a fake fiancée and his choice falls on Carly Huntley, with whom he had a hot one-night stand at the masked ball at the hotel. From an early age, Carly has felt like an outsider who is despised or pitied by the residents because of her messy family. To avoid being hurt, she never lets anyone get too close to her and never has long-term relationships, only the occasional hook-up. She wants to finish her studies and continue to support her family, but when she is in danger of losing her scholarship, Micah's offer to play his girlfriend and get a lot of money in return comes in handy…
If you like gripping romantic suspense novels with LOL and poignant moments, action, danger, lovable smalltown communities and lots of spice, you are sure to enjoy this book!
I received a free ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and left voluntarily.
A great slow-build romance, with sizzling chemistry between the characters, mystery, suspense, tension, danger, wonderful banter and some brilliant twists.
Micah is Declan's friend and co-owner of the Pink Hotel (Always Be an Us). But like Declan he feels pushed into the business by his father and just want's to do his own thing (he's mostly interested in architecture). He's restless and to generally frustrate his dad he spends most of his time failing at businesses and being a playboy but when he goes to the launch masquerade party for the hotel a lady catches his eye and he know's he wants to spend the evening with his 'Athena'.
Carly is a friend of Emma's having known her since childhood and now works for her in the Tiki Bar. Her family are a disgrace but she tries to be better, though she's struggling at college. Emma had invited her to the ball and she'd heard of Micah's reputation so knew she was in for a one night stand. What she didn't expect was for him to invite her on another date a few days later.
“Oh, there’s something I wanted to ask you tonight,” Micah says, picking up a menu. “What is it?” I tip the glass into my mouth, the cool, smooth liquid a balm for my parched tongue. “What do you think about marrying me?”
Micah had gone to his grandfather to try to get round his father. But he's told he needs to become more serious and he hopes Carly can help him by playing his fake fiance. A wonderfully fun shopping trip follows and Carly starts to worry what she's got herself into, though the chemistry is sizzling between them and they can't keep their hands off each other.
But back in town at the hotel secrets are revealed and her family are up to no good. Can they convince his family to believe in their romance and can he protect her from her family's dealings?

Standalone second book in a series. I haven’t read the first, and you only need it to flesh out some detail for supporting characters.
Carly is hilarious, sarcastic, and totally real. Micah… well he’s got women both hating on him and lusting after him. Such is the allure of an unattainable and eligible bachelor.
This book opens with a meeting at an event, a steamy one-night stand, and Carly receiving some very bad news. Her life is dictated by other people’s decisions and mistakes and I can’t help but feel bad for her. Micah is faced with family responsibilities, judgements, and in order to escape, you know it…. relationship time!!
The story had so many hilarious moments - her family is a mess! It also had plenty of heartbreak. The author did such a great job building everything up, developing their story and then their relationship. It was steamy, emotional and so, so satisfying to read. Cutest little HEA after quite a LOT of drama, I totally enjoyed this.

I fell in love with the Pink Hotel series with Book 1 (Always Be An Us), and the continuation of the series with this story, Book 2 (Always Knew It Was You), did not disappoint! More of the mystery is revealed from the first in the series, and we have some great returning characters as well as some new 'players' in this smart, well-written, riveting, intense, action-packed, and romantic story! I was wondering who would be the focus next, and it was a pleasant surprise to find that Declan's reluctant partner in renovating the Grand Pearl Hotel aka the Pink Hotel, Micah, was chosen to find his true love, Carly, who happens to be friends with Emma, and has a bit of a rough family life, a family who isn't particularly loved by the townspeople of Laketown. This was truly a fantastic read, and I highly recommend adding it to your reading list. It could be read alone; however, it'll be better enjoyed if you read Book 1 of this series first.

Always Knew It Was You is another engaging story in the Pink Hotel series. This second book follows Carly Huntley and Micah Landing’s unorthodox journey towards togetherness that begins with a one night stand and ends with a pretend fiancé proposition that will save Carly from loosing her college scholarship and Micah able to obtain a loan from his grandfather which he desperately needs. Only things don’t go according to plan when the bachelor playboy finds himself falling hard for his fake fiancé. With vibrantly crafted characters who are sure to elicit some chuckles with their antics, family dynamics, a surprise pregnancy, emotion, suspense, danger, and plenty of steam this was a nicely written story that was entertaining, and a very satisfying read.

Micah and Carly meet at a masked ball (though they had met before). He didn't know who she was until her mask was off. Their chemistry as HOT!. He eventually talked her into pretending to be his fiance for money, but that backfired a little. His dad and grandfather didn't make his life any easier, but he just wanted to make his own way. Their was lots of hot sex, drama with her family, a couple brawls, some funny moments with the seniors in town and a new business beginning. Little by little, he realized he wasn't the playboy anymore, but was in love. It really shocked him. Carly loved him too, but it took a kidnapping for them to admit it to each other..

Carly and Micha's one night stand was hot and steamy that left an impression on them both. When he is in need of a wife, who better than Carly to accept his proposal. As real emotions and feelings develop so does the danger to her life. The added mystery is interconnected to the previous book yet is not required to read this story. It was an intense read with banter and intrigue that I could not get enough of.

Always Knew It Was You is the second book in the Pink Hotel Series which focuses on Carly and Micah's relationship which goes from a one night stand to a fake engagement to save his inheritance. The characters are amazing but have an up and down relationship which has snarky banter, humorous situations, and heartfelt emotions. The complex plot has twists, fun, family dysfunction, surprises, and sizzling chemistry.

What starts as a fake fiancee request soon ends up with playboy Micah falling, deeply, utterly in love with his fake partner in crime Carly. Carlys family is messy, uncouth and not very well off, that makes her emotionally shut off, so she's a perfect candidate as a fake fiancee. Except as she spends more time with Micah, the layers are peeled back to reveal a gorgeous man in & out. Add in a mistake pregnancy and the romance gets real.
A lot of witty banter and sizzling attraction, made this a good read.
Fake fiancée? Check. Unexpected baby? Double check. Hot mess of feelings I wasn’t ready for but loved every second of? ABSOLUTELY. 🔥 Carly is a boss babe with zero time for nonsense, and I lived for every flirty, messy, heart-clutching moment she shared with Mr. Rich-and-Rebellious. This book had me screaming at my Kindle like I was watching reality TV—but, like, with actual chemistry and swoon. Someone hold my mimosa, I need a re-read. 🥂💖📱
Always Knew It Was You by Summer Hunter is the second book in the Pink Hotel series. Carly and Micah's story has some twists and turns, drama and suspense. They had undeniable chemistry that had me rooting for them from the start. This is the first book I have read from the author and I can't wait to read more of her work!.

Who needs reality tv this book had me invested. Highly recommended to the girls looking for a rich, fake fiancé, surprise pregnancy.Summer Hunter
Loved reading the fabulous and fantastic romance story. After Micah spends an unforgettable night of passion with Carly, Micah wants Carly to pose as his fake fiancé, and Carly needs money to finish her college education, but neither of them counted on feelings for each other. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting love story.
A great story that takes us on the journey that Carly and Micah take together. The author's storyline and writing style kept your attention glued to their story. There is chemistry and attraction, secret, steam and heat, drama and so much more, and to top off their story hot and steamy BDSM moments.

This is an enjoyable, entertaining, and engaging romance with meddling family, drama, attraction, chemistry, a fake relationship becoming more, and a possible HEA. The MCs are defined, likable, and engaging. I liked this storyline.

Always Knew It Was You is the kind of spicy romantic suspense that reels you in fast and keeps you flipping pages with all its twists, heat, and humor. What starts as a fake relationship quickly turns into something real, messy, and utterly addictive, especially as Carly and the narrator’s emotional baggage starts to unravel. I really liked how the author balanced snarky banter with deeper themes—plus, the tension was chef’s kiss. It was dramatic in the best way, and I couldn’t stop reading.
Always Knew It Was You is a spicy, sassy, fake-fiancée romance with heart, heat, and enough emotional whiplash to leave your Kindle smoking—and yes, I devoured it in one sitting with no regrets.
The author has given us a heartwarming story that pulls us into the lives of Micah and Carly. The story keeps us turning the pages with a fake relationship, connection, family drama, a bit of BDSM and steam.

Damn this was good. I didn't want to put it down even to go to bed. I loved how everything started between Carly and Micah, just a quick hookup and nothing more. Until it became more. And all the mystery with the Pink Hotel really added to the action. Highly recommend
WOW. I thought book one was incredible but this one was absolutely phenomenal. So much raw, vulnerable emotion. More insight into the Pink Pearl mystery. Absolutely loved it and can’t wait for Tate’s story next.
This romance book is packed with everything you are going to love reading about. It has suspense, secrets, surprises and nothing is going to stop you from reading this book once you start because OMG the storyline keeps you hooked. So, trust me if you haven't read a book by Summer before I strongly urge you to read this book right here because it is written very well.
