Winters’ weaves a tangled web of lies, revenge, and love in this devastating and beautiful story featuring a quasi love triangle. This is an intense and twisted story yet at the center is a beautiful love story surrounded on all side by interfering forces that could doom it before it can even begin.
There were several surprising twists and turns that kept me on my toes throughout the story. The sheer magnitude of the deceptions and conflicts had me thoroughly engrossed and enamored.
Amelia and Vogue had one of those instant and undeniable world altering attractions, that irresistible kind of connection, which is good since they were sabotaged even before they met.
Melissa is one of the best characters I have ever read. She is full of depth and is perfectly balanced. I was entranced by her from the first meeting.
Vogue is strong yet vulnerable and her story is heavy with heartbreak and betrayal yet she still manages to hope and persist.
Amelia was my favorite character. She is a bit naïve, innocent, and trusting but she has such a kind heart and caring nature. She is incredibly lovable and she truly shined in this story.
Amelia and Vogue had such a good push and pull dynamic, both trying to deny the connection and going back and forth with forwardness and passiveness, never on the same page. I would have liked to see more exploration of their feelings for each other but they were so distracted by lies and schemes that they had great difficulty connecting despite the attraction. Their whole romance was fervent.
I loved this story and especially the characters and the tangled dynamics between them. A fantastic read with a superb ending.
