Hot book! Love Sapphire. She’s smart, spunky, and nobody’s fool. Aside from the steamy sex scenes, I also liked the way the book showcased the relationship between the two main characters and their families. Estelle did a good job of debunking the myth of “the perfect father.” As for Julian, he’s made some big mistakes in the past. Haven’t we all? But when it’s time for him to make a choice, he makes the right one. If you are looking for a steamy read that flows smoothly and has complex, likable characters, this book is for you.
❤️ It's not just the steamy romance that keeps you flipping pages—it's the layered secrets and emotional undercurrents that make Lessons on Seduction unforgettable. ❤️
“Break up to make up, that's all we do, First you love me then you hate me, That's a game for fools.” I know I'm dating myself, but the Stylistics lyrics fit perfectly for "Lessons of Seduction." Sapphire and Julian have such a tumultuous relationship. From the time they meet, Sapphire is Julian's sister's friend; it's an uphill battle with many outside forces impacting them. All the while, though, they grow closer, stronger, and more intimate together.
Author Estelle Petterson wrote solid and well-developed characters that included supporting ones. "Lessons on Seduction" is not the typical ßee∂/sm book I've read in which so much of it takes place in-house. I liked how Sapphire and Julian would role-play and do things away from the club. I enjoyed the overall storyline, though it was angsty in several scenes—all the spice and Julian's dirty talk more than made up for it. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I received a copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily
This is such a well-written sexy romance. No bonking by numbers here, this is a finely crafted tale with characters that jump off the page and will leave you panting for more. Julian and Sapphire make a great, passionate, sensual pair. Their immediate attraction only grows as the story develops, and their sexual intimacy eventually leads to a deeper, emotional bond. I enjoyed the secondary characters too, like Julian’s loving sister Vera and Julian’s domineering, deliciously bad older lover Saira. I wonder if some of these seductive other characters will get their own story. A great debut!
Julian and Sapphire’s electric connection will hook you from the first encounter. The tension is delicious, the stakes are high, and the emotions feel dangerously real.
Every chapter feels like a dare—daring you to fall deeper, want more, and fear what might come next. The suspense and seduction are perfectly balanced.
I loved every second of this more than hot romance. And most important of all, it's a healthy romance, with Sapphire as a strong female lead. I loved to watch her grow throughout the story, and also Julian's character development was on point. Great debut novel, Estelle!!
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Lessons on Seduction in exchange for an honest review. Having already pre-ordered Estelle Pettersen’s first novel, I was more than happy to do so and was not disappointed.
Sapphire Blake breaks away from her old image as a ‘church mouse’ by the end of the second chapter which is the first one in her POV. She embarks on an eye opening journey with new friend Vera and later on with Vera’s brother, Professor Julian Richland. I loved this transformation for Sapphire, especially when she took on a more dominant role. What a breath of fresh air!
Julian is a sensual character and more than just a ‘hot’ body. There was a real depth to him, and his character development was one of my favourites. I also enjoyed our glimpse into Vera’s life and would love to read a book from her perspective.
Estelle has a way with words and her writing has a poetic edge to it, especially during her steamy scenes. Nothing felt forced or over the top, which I often find reading certain erotic novels. The plot had me hooked until the end and for a dual POV, 1st person narrative, I was impressed by how distinctive each characters’ voice was. Well done, Estelle!
Lessons on Seduction is a must-read for any romance and erotica lover.
If you like your reads spicy, you'll love this BDSM romance novel. From the moment I met Sapphire, I was hooked. She was a young woman willing to take chances and open to trying new things, some of which might not have been the right choice. When Julian came along, I thought hot or not stay away from him. He's trouble. But Sapphire charged on with her heart, and it was a good thing that she did. I really liked how Julian grows and changes in his life for the better.
If you love a strong antagonist to hate, you'll love disliking Saira. I can't wait to read a sequel that has Vera, Julian's sister and Sapphire's best friends love story. Vera deserves her happy ending too. Warning Julian loves the F word but you'll get used to it.
I got an advance copy from the author and binged it in two days. It was hot hot hot and I had to stop every now and again to cool down.
This book isn’t for the faint of heart. The author isn’t afraid to go here, there and everywhere with the steamy scenes. Yet there’s a sense of authenticity in the writing that you don’t often see in erotic romance stories. The lead characters are on the bad boy/good girl spectrum but they are more than those shallow tropes. Julian is deeply emotional and Sapphire is almost insatiably curious. The secondary characters are also compelling.
The writing is fast, ferocious and down right fun. If you are looking for a fresh take on the erotic format, look no further. Lessons on Seduction satisfies.
Sapphire Blake knows she wants Julian Richland the moment she meets him. That his sister and her friend, Vera, warns her away from him has little effect. Even Julian warns her that he can’t be more than a lover. But when they finally come together—for him to punch her V-card—nothing Julian or Vera can say will push her away. Julian has sold his body and soul to an evil woman who will do most anything to keep him within her sphere of power. When Sapphire discovers his secret, Julian has a big choice to make and his decision has far-reaching repercussions. What will he choose?
Good book by Estelle Pettersen!
The publisher provided this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Thrilling, Romantic, Bold, and Scandalously sexy are the words I would use to describe Lessons on Seduction. Have you ever had that special dessert that melts in your mouth and fulfils your soul? That's how I felt about the book and like my favourite dessert (freshly baked rum cake/muffin) I did not want it to end. For me personally, what made Julian and Sapphire's relationship beautifully chaotic is the fact that numerous boulders tumbled down their path to happiness, family drama, psycho ex, distrust, miscommunication and misunderstanding just to name a few. The narrative, descriptions, and realism totally sucks you in and you cannot get enough of the world created around these two!
I've got a few favourite scenes and quotes but I'll share two that I've gushed, yelled, and reread before turning the page.
- Sometimes when we argued, I felt like throwing a shoe at his face. At other times, he brought the moonlight to my dark winter evenings and the sunshine to my frosty days.
- Saira might be a snake, but Alistair was the eagle, with more power and connections than one could imagine. Now was the time to strike the snake.
Lessons on Seduction should be added to your Valentine's Day list and should even be considered a gift. Trust me, it's totally worth it!

Sensual yet profoundly elegant, Estelle Pettersen’s ‘Lessons on Seduction’ is a must-read for all fans of erotic romance. Its narrative style echoes classics such as ‘Dracula’ with its ever-shifting point of view, pulling the reader deep into the world of Sapphire and Julian.
The story grows ever more intense as each chapter unfolds, moving steadily towards a satisfyingly poetic ending… an ending that leaves you looking eagerly forward to Estelle Pettersen’s next release.
This was an intense book. There were plenty of hot sex scenes, which I expected, but also a wonderful plot that had me riveted until the very end. The protagonist, Saph, was an intelligent and open character who broke away from her stifling family to find her way in the world. Her counterpart, Julian, was one flawed but hot male specimen. It was fascinating watching him evolve as the book unfolded. My favorite characters were Saira and Jessie, two evil women, who deserved everything they got. Read the book. You won't be disappointed!
I have to say I fell in love with both characters, Saph and Julian. Any woman would be lucky to have such a giving lover in the bedroom. Can we pull him out of the book? *lol*
I think Estelle did a great job writing such an enthralling tale of love. At the end—and, no, I won't spoil anything—things didn't quite go the way I expected after a certain event took place, but it was even better than what I thought was going to happen. I loved seeing Saph take charge.
This was a riveting read which only took me 3 nights to finish. I liked the development of the characters and the original plot. The main character, Sapphire, is a woman many females would identify with. There are great themes woven in this fiction novel and the author has researched her subject well. This is a steamy, erotic original love story that delivers and leaves the reader wanting more!
Lessons on Seduction is an incredible book. The author weaves the right amount of plot and steamy passion into a story that leaves the reader unable to stop turning the pages, wanting more! You can feel the heat and chemistry between Sapphire and Julian throughout the story, and I love how their characters grow together. Very well written!

A Seductive Tale of Passion and Growth Lessons on Seduction by Estelle Pettersen is a steamy, emotionally rich romance about Sapphire Blake, a college student who falls for Julian Richland, a dangerously charming bad boy with a dark past. Told from both perspectives, their chemistry sizzles as the story explores desire, trust, and personal growth. With vivid writing and a strong supporting cast, it’s a seductive, empowering read that goes beyond the typical romance.
Julian is that swoonworthy tall, dark, and handsome guy who walks straight into Sapphire's life, but will his ex let him go? I loved the tropes in this contemporary book: #best friend's brother #love triangle #bad boy romance #second chance romance. Yes, it has some power play and BDSM, but all done in good taste. This book is a yes for me.
Sizzling, steamy, and seductive - that's how I'd describe this HOT NSFW bad boy romance novel! Julian - a college professor with a double life meets Sapphire - boy meets girl, but *warning* there is BDSM in the novel (safe, sane, and consensual). Julian's ex, Saira? What a psycho. Great read, fast-paced, can get angsty with emotional twists.
Interesting read. It's usually the woman that's the kept person. In this case it was Julian, the man. I must say he was forthcoming with what he did. Then he met Sapphire, who turned out to be the love of his life. All in all this is a good read. Fast paced, happy ending.
Feminine Power at Its Best What I loved most about Lessons on Seduction is how it celebrates a woman stepping into her own power. The character development is spot on, and the sensual moments are beautifully written—never forced or cliché.
Sapphire Blake, a college student, and Julian Richland, a professor, meet and sparks fly. This is a HEA with lots of angst and spice! It was so engaging I finished in one sitting.

I found this book was very steamy but it still had some body to it. Well developed plot and characters that have a lot of chemistry. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
“Lessons on Seduction” by Estelle Pettersen completely swept me away🫣The story is both steamy and emotionally rich, with characters that feel so real, I couldn’t put it down. I loved how the author combined passion with vulnerability,it made the romance feel deep and genuine. A beautiful, intense, and unforgettable read!!just live it!..♥️
THE BOOK IS A GOOD READ, IT KEEPS YOU COMING BACK FOR MORE, THE STORYLINE IS NOT THE USUAL BORING GIRL MEETS BOY, IT HAS A CATCHY STORYLINE OF UNEXPECTED LOVE, ALONG WITH TRYSTS FROM PREVIOUS RELATIONSHIPS TRYING TO RUIN LOVE!
You’ll come for the romance, but you’ll stay for the twists. Pettersen delivers a seductive story full of mystery, raw desire, and characters who feel like they might walk off the page.
Wow! Did I ever enjoy this seductive story of Julian and Sapphire. It was an incredible story and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. There were highs and lows definitely - just like real life. For those who enjoy this genre - I would VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this story!!
I absolutely loved Lessons on Seduction! It's STEAMY but not overdone, but very seductive keeping you enthralled from beginning to end. Loved the character Sapphire, she is brave, a good friend, vulnerable and inquisitive. I highly recommend reading this book!
