Funny and gory. Disrespectful and relatable. Relates to real things while pushing absurdist humor to the max.
I really enjoyed Patrick Kitson’s short story collection Bonedale. I was at one of the festivals mentioned in the book, minus the drugs, when I met the author. Sweetest guy and an approachable author.
If you love short story collections like I do you will finish this like lightening. I didn’t finish it faster cause I was reading twenty five other books but man I had to stop my laughs when I was the library. Even put a pause on reading Stephen King to finish them.
Wonderfully written and I bet a joy to write thanks Mr. Kitson. I can’t wait to see ya next year at the festival and get your new book Talented. As a fellow writer I can relate to the premise of visiting a writer work shop.
Kitson is the new author to watch for in the horror genre! His writing has the humor of Grady Hendrix, the depth of Stephen Graham Jones, and the social commentary of Rachel Harrison.
