More Than We Know is a novella that is short and spicy. It follows Quentin and Sarah as they re-discover their sexuality upon entering empty-nester status. They visit a BDSM club they once frequented and stumble upon Kat, Sarah’s ex-friend-roommate-girlfriend-situationship.
I set my expectations lower with novellas anyways, because there’s always something else to be added, whether that be plot, pacing, back story, characters, etc. and this definitely met that mark.
First of all, they all come so fast. 🤣 The foreplay was repetitive and not explorative at all, and two strokes in, everyone is having an earth-shattering orgasm. 😭 I was hoping to see some newness when Kat entered dom mode, but her and Quentin said all the same things, made all the same moves. I would’ve liked to see moreeee.
Now that I feel like I’m directing and critiquing a porno, I’ll stop being facetious.
I liked the idea of the plot, a lot of couples lose their flair in their sex life when they have kids—especially *grown* kids. The fact that they got in touch with that was sweet, and Quentin was very receptive to Sarah wanting to explore with a woman. It was wonderful seeing some older MC’s and not 20 year old fresh-off-the-boat college goers for once. (I say as a 23 year old woman, IKR)
It just moved very fast, despite the “I’m nervous and don’t know how people will receive this” monologue every chapter. And every time they want to explore and try fuckin’, they go to the BDSM club. 🤣
And because I *know* people will STILL remind me…
I *KNOW* this is a novella, and I *KNOW* it’s supposed to move fast LOL.
It has potential, and I don’t regret reading it! Just didn’t knock my socks off. Does that mean I’m too desensitized to erotica?
3 stars 🙂
