He's the ex I never got over. Now I need him to pretend he still loves me.
Holy disaster.
Two years ago, I walked away from the love of my life. Now I'm begging Dean to be my fake boyfriend at my sister's destination wedding in Hawaii.
I expected him to tell me to take a hike straight into the ocean.
Instead, Mr. Muscled-Up Rancher agrees with a dangerous glint in those whiskey-brown eyes.
One week. That's all I need to survive.
But our hotel room only has one bed. His possessive hands remember exactly how to make me melt. And that first "pretend" kiss? It sets my whole body on fire.
Every time his deep voice rumbles against my skin, I'm drowning in memories of what we were—and what we could be again.
This isn't just a game anymore.
Dean isn't just playing along. He's playing for keeps.
When he pulls out a ring he's been saving for two years, I realize I've been lying to myself all along.
Our love was never fake. And this time, I'm not running away.

Free audiobook, but this was tough to get through. Predictable story that could have been cute, but the main character is so whiny and selfish. She is portrayed to have all these trust issues and relationship trauma, but no back story to help us understand why. She’s written to be so scared and whiny, but has the healthiest example of love and family (despite a meddling mother). Behaviors just don’t add up, so when you combine that with the insufferable whining this was just not great.
Bro, the fmc is always "that's not fair" gawd i wanna pull her hair. And her mother? He's pushing the mmc to fight for her daughter when her own daughter is unsure of where to take the relationship except giving up. Such a trash. The fmc is a trash. Whiny as #π€3.
He deserves so much better than a girl that's not committed to a relationship.
