Aspen Carmichaels has built the life most women dream of—a thriving career, a luxury apartment, and a relationship that looks perfect from the outside. Malcolm has been her rock, a boss and provider, striving tirelessly to paint their life as flawless. But beneath Malcolm’s polished facade lies dangerous secrets and buried flaws he's desperate to keep hidden—unaware that someone else holds the key to unraveling his carefully constructed world.
Aspen’s carefully curated life is shattered when a single letter flips everything upside down. That letter comes from Giovanni Gates—an irresistibly magnetic former boxer serving time for a crime he swears he didn't commit. From behind bars, Giovanni’s words ignite a passion within Aspen she never knew existed, sparking feelings Malcolm has never stirred. Giovanni sees her—not as the perfect woman she's portrayed, but as someone deeper, more vulnerable, more real.
At first, Aspen tries to maintain professional boundaries. She’s a lawyer, committed to justice. Yet each interaction with Giovanni blurs lines and awakens something powerful within her—a raw, undeniable connection. Torn between duty, desire, and truth, Aspen faces a heart-wrenching choice that could destroy everything she's achieved.
With the pressure mounting, Malcolm's hidden sins begin to surface, threatening to ruin Aspen’s reputation, her career, and the facade they've built together. Now Aspen must decide whether to risk everything for the explosive love that Giovanni offers, or settle for the stability Malcolm has always provided.
Dive into A Thug Love Letter, an electrifying African American romance filled with intense love, high-stakes drama, and life-changing choices. Will Aspen risk losing everything she's worked for—or lose the only chance at real love she's ever known?
Talk about a story build up….You really took me through allllll of it. Just when I thought I had it all figured out… I was wrong, patiently waiting for part 2
Giovanni and Malcolm had been best friends since grade school and that all changed when a terrible accident occurred that left two ppl dead and another in prison. Their families had always been cool but as time goes on relationships are subject to change. One fateful night an accident takes the life of Malcolm’s brother who’s a police officer on duty after an incident involving the two young men. Aspen is a very great top notch attorney who’s damn good at her job but when she’s asked to take on a case that involves someone older she’s hesitant not knowing that this case is close to her fiancé Malcolm and his family. Malcolm tells her in no certain terms that she can’t take the case but doesn’t really explain why. When she finds out why there’s a lot to unpack and uncover. A lot comes to light with this case and some things are unearthed that were meant to stay buried. I love Marlow and how she always there for Aspen no matter what. Jordan was working my nerves the entire time I was reading like she ain’t got a whole husband at home and she being a lil too available at work smh. Big G and Zia worked my nevera something serious and I have a feeling about her son and his paternity but I hope I ain’t right. Big G really hates his son and it’s so sad to see but at least Giovanni still has his mama sister and lil bro in his corner. Alex pissed me off and I never would’ve guessed he was kin to ole girl. This here book had me punching the air at all the revelations that came to light esp about everyone who had something to do with why Giovanni’s in prison in the first place. Al and Della definitely got some exploding to do when it comes to Aspen and that night. For some reason I want her with Giovanni he’s definitely BAE and has already been proving it even from where he is. He’s definitely right to watch for snakes bc they come from every which way and are closer than he could ever imagine. That cliffhanger got my mouth wide open and I’m scratching my head bc what in the entire hell? Great job on part 1 Quanisha definitely can’t wait for part two. You did a wonderful job. If y’all haven’t read it yet don’t sleep on this at all.
OMG it's a mystery because I really don't know what's going on, like I kind of have a clue but I definitely think Giovanni is innocent that racist cop had me heated with the crap he was talking the night Giovanni got arrested. I'm confused as to why they report said Marco was dead instead of Marcus, then that man just woke up which just adds to the mystery of what happened. I need to know who is Zia's baby daddy because I have a feeling it isn't Giovanni. It finally makes sense that Aspen didn't remember being at the party when Biggie and Gio said she was there, her dang parents had her mind wiped which makes me wonder if Aspen was the one driving the car and not her dad cause why wiper her mind and not Big Al's too. I hope Kash and Aspen can get to the bottom of everything safely. Cannot wait for part two!
In the words of Johnny Gill and Stacey Lattisaw, "Where do we go from here?"
This is my first read by this author, I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I've already recommended it to two people, now I'm recommending to all that haven't read it. Six degrees of separation is a real thing...everyone in Aspen's world is tied to this case one way or another. Gio (G), is not a fool by a long shot, he pretty much knows who the mover and shakers are. I don't think he knows his dad is a part of this. I hope we don't have to wait too long for part 2.
Omg this book was so good the twist and turns. I love the mystery in this book.i wonder who is Zia baby daddy. why do big g hate his's son but love his daughter.now I know why aspen didn't remember being at the party.the whole Marcus and Marco thing blows my mind. I can't wait to read part two.
Omg a plot twist i need part 2 asap. I need to know how all this going to play it its crazy all these lies. Surrounded by Big G he a snake to do his own son like that for what??? Cause he didn't win a fight like he wanted. I want Aspen to really leave Mel he wanted everything that G had smh scandalous.
Dang this first book was so good. There are so many twist and turns it’s crazy and the fact that G baby is locked up for murder but the person ain’t even dead is crazy AF. He is going to reck havoc when he gets out. I don’t really like Mal he definitely a snake. Big G and Zia and Alex are all snakes too and when they figure out this puzzle omg there will be hell to pay.
This book was soooo good. The amount of twists and turns will have you thinking your on a roller-coaster. Just when you think you know what's about to happen the plot thickens like cold grits. I can't wait to see what happens in the end.
