Safety, love, peace—all those words Charae Royster craves in her life. After being bounced around from one foster care to the next, she considers herself unlovable. When a series of events leads her into the arms and heart of a street-savvy star player, she questions if it's safe to let her guard down.

Dinero "Money" Sutton knew he wanted to make it to the NFL from the moment he caught his first football. The loss of his parents only fueled him to go even harder. When his path crosses with Charae, he believes they have what it takes to go the distance. However, the love they share begins to sow seeds of jealousy and discontentment from the people around them. The bond they once thought was unbreakable starts to unravel at the seams.

An opportunity reconnects them in ways neither of them were prepared for. As Dinero attempts to navigate through his recent discoveries, Charae must deal with the twisted revelations of her past. Will they find their way back to the love they once shared, or will the secrets, both past and present, hold them back from their destiny?

Was it well-written? Technically, yes—the grammar, structure, and pacing were solid. But I’m sorry, the characters and the story itself just didn’t work for me *at all*. I’m giving it three stars because it met the basic requirements I expect from a book, but the content was difficult to read and, at times, felt unnecessarily graphic and unsettling.

The core of the story centers around two teenagers who are trauma-bonded and try to force that connection into something resembling love, without ever really addressing the mental and emotional damage both characters carry. Charae experiences repeated violations and traumatic events throughout the story—not always in detail, thankfully—but it becomes overwhelming, especially when we’re later given more upsetting backstory that’s relayed without much emotional processing or growth.

Money, the male lead, is the son of a criminal figure and is forced to take on adult responsibilities far too young. He’s emotionally neglected despite having financial stability, and his connection with Charae comes off more like desperation than genuine love. There’s infidelity, reckless behavior, and a lot of moments that left me wondering what the message was supposed to be.

What really didn’t sit well with me is how intimate scenes involving teenagers were handled. As a 32-year-old reader, the graphic nature of those scenes felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. I understand the author was likely trying to show the raw reality of these characters’ experiences, but there are ways to do that without lingering in those moments. The 13-year time jump helped with context later, but I personally would’ve appreciated a more thoughtful fade-to-black approach early on.

As for the ending—honestly, it fell flat. Ro, a supposedly powerful character with “eyes everywhere,” seemed clueless about the major things happening under his nose. It didn’t make sense to me, and it weakened the believability of the entire resolution.

In short, while the writing itself was competent, the story didn’t land for me emotionally or thematically. If you’re sensitive to certain types of content or prefer stories that fully explore healing and growth, this one might not be for you. Like being honest the characters just aged but there was no growth no improvement just two dummies in love with kids now

just okay

Ehh this book was okay. It had a decent pace in the beginning, then we jumped into chaos. The whole miscommunication thing blew me so bad. Sunny saying she couldn’t explain when she could. Dinero was so mad at Sunny like he didn’t cheat on her. Then asked why she didn’t trust him. Then the way they were moving like he didn’t have a fiancée was weird. And then he was super judgy of Harper but acted the same way and turned to the bottle.

Explicit sex scenes between minors just aren’t necessary. We get the point. Although it was part of the story development, it could’ve been close door or less detailed. Quite a few inconsistencies. First Sunny said she wanted kids then she said she never wanted kids. Why would Dinero have a ring on if he wasn’t married yet? Dinero played for Cincinnati but then later said he played on the East Coast. Saying he’s been more than patient but he’s still engaged. Work on Moolahs temper before he went to middle school but they’re already in middle school. The timeline also didn’t make sense. A summer bash and senior football night don’t even correlate. I also felt like the flashbacks were too long. Mixing real NFL teams with made up ones was off too.

When I tell you Kami Holt wrote the HELL out of this book, I mean it! Intercept My Heart is a beautifully written story that clearly shows the time and care Kami poured into developing these characters. From the start, we meet a young Charae—a girl shaped by the harsh realities of foster care, trauma, and the heartbreak of loss. Just when she’s on the verge of giving up, in walks Dinero, a high school football star who seems to have it all. But this is where Kami shines—she gives us characters with depth, flaws, and emotion that feel so real, you’ll forget they’re fictional. If I had to describe Charae and Dinero’s young love, it’s giving “I might be young, but I’m ready.” Life has other plans, though, and despite their intentions, they’re forced apart. But what’s meant to be will always find its way. Thirteen years later, they reunite, and while a lot has changed, the love hasn’t. I won’t spoil too much, but just know—this book will make you cry, laugh, cuss, and maybe even plot a murder 😂 . But most of all, you’ll fall in love with every page.

Grab some tissue…..

Man Kami knows she gonna take you and her characters through it. Charae stole my heart from page one and that poor baby was going through it. Ughhhhh them foster parents were THE WORST. Dinero was her knight in shining armor but nothing can be easy, they both went through so much but fate cannot be denied. I don’t know how to say what I liked most without giving anything away so I’ll just say everything happened the way I wanted it to and I hope we get to see these people again.

Drama and mess!

I had a good time reading this book. It has some heavy triggers, but I loved the early stages of Sunny and Money's relationship. It was really sweet, and I loved how he didn't play around with her from the beginning. Now, where the book stakes a turn for me is when they hit college and adulthood. All of Money's actions after the party seemed so out of character for the person he was presented to be during the first half of the book. Him not suspecting anything of Harper despite it clearly being her and her dad blackmailing him was stupid. And the way he lied and manipulated Sunny made me lose a little respect for him because how could he claim to love her and be lying and still sleeping with his fiancé? Also, Sunny not even googling Money was unrealistic, and allowing him to sexually manipulate her made her seem weak.

Dinero and Charae, A Second Chance At Lovin’ You

This book was AMAZING!!!…Although heavy, I can tell this author dug deep and put her heart and soul into this one!!!…I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars!!!…
I have read some good books this year, but this will be my FAVORITE one!!!…I was not expecting my emotions to overflow from page one!!!…I thought the trigger warnings had prepared me, but they did nothing to prepare me for the events in this book!!!…
Ciera and Charae were more than survivors, they were some serious SHEROS in this journey of suffering and struggling!!!…
As Dinero was the strength that helped Charae, he needed someone to protect him, guide him and give him a place called home!!!…I can see why he gravitated twds Charae and was determined to protect her!!!…
I was so happy to see Charae and Ciera come back together because they were sisters from different mothers!!!…I hope we get a story about Ciera and Chris!!!.
The strength Ciera displayed to make sure that no one else has to endure what they did as part of the foster care system!!!…I loved that she was trying to make sure Charae was protected, even though she was not there with her physically!!!…
I was happy Tootie pulled through and her and Dinero was able to start building their relationship!!!…Also the relationship with Uncle Ro and the family!!!…
Harper and her father got everything they deserved and plus some!!!…

Tears, Thrills & Love

This book took me through so many emotions. I haven't been emotionally wrung out like this in a while. But Ms. Holt wrote the hell out of this book.

There were times I wanted to throw my phone, throttle the characters, protect the characters, and just love them.

I will say there are serious triggers in this book, but they need to be talked about because these things are reality. We can't keep running from the truth or leaving poor reviews because we're triggered. If you're easily triggered, don't read, if you can't handle truth in fiction, don't read, if you love a good, emotional book...REAd THIS!!!

I loved Charae through it all, and my heart melted for her. I loved Dinero, but sometimes wanted to strangle him. And the secondary characters definitely took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride.

Well done, Ms. Holt

Charade's crazy twin boys saved this story for me. They saved me from putting this long, long story to bed.

Nothing more heart-breaking than reading about the cruel and disgusting acts perpetrated against helpless children forced into the Foster Care System. Jail???? Drake's entire family should have been dipped in a vat of boiling lye for what they allowed to happen to Charade. I know, Prayer not revenge. (Jesus please forgive me.) But what was done to Charade and Ciera was betrayal up in the stratosphere. I kept thinking when does this end?

Everyone needs someone to love, trust and depend on. Yet this seemed to be one more disappointment, one more deceitful action, one more act of betrayal. Wow!

I am not a fan of the cheating trope. I will never be a fan of the cheating trope especially if it is avoidable however Harper deserved everything she got. I kinda looked at Sunny sideways though because of her actions and her willingness to participate in it. Dinero moved suspicious too like was there no better way to handle the situation??
I also hate 🌶scenes that dont include the main characters. For all of that I had to give this book a 3.5.

moneyyyyyyyy I love youuu

This story was impeccable. It’s been a minute since I stayed up late, eyes burning, completely consumed by a book—but I just couldn’t get enough of these characters. Definitely take the trigger warnings seriously—it tugs at your heart and can be sensitive in the beginning. But once the story picks up? Whew. I was all in. I couldn’t get enough of Charae and Dinero—absolutely unforgettable.

Moolah and Cash were so well-balanced and just unexpected in the way they showed up throughout the story. Their presence highlighted how much range Dinero had as a character, which made me love his journey even more.

I loved Charae & Dinero’s story and journey. From the beginning it was clear Dinero made it his mission to protect Charae. Though they both made their mistakes they love they had for one another never wavered. The story was engaging all the way through. Just when you thought you had everything figured out there was a curveball.

Though the story was great, it did feel disjointed at times. I think this book would’ve been better served had it been split into two books. At times the author went away from a plot line for so long it felt like she was never going to get back to it. There were some situations I think deserved more detail. For instance, I would’ve loved for Charae’s career to be woven into the story more. Especially when it could’ve been easily. Just think the flow could’ve been better.

I think a lot happened.
I didn’t particularly appreciate the fact that Sunny never went therapy, she went through a lot. Neither do I like how she kept apologising towards the end for not giving them a chance after reconnecting (meanwhile he’s keeping stuff from her). The premise of the story itself was messy and had quite a bit of drama (which I’m not a fan of) so maybe that’s why Money and Sunny didn’t resonate with me as much. I’m glad they got their happy ending against all odds. I enjoyed the author’s writing style but I just didn’t enjoy the story. I did love the twins.

A book hasn't pissed me off like this in a while. All of that miscommunication was so unnecessary. You expect me to believe that Dinero was in love with Sunny while actively sleeping with his fiancé? Then the on page explicit sex scenes between minors? Very weird. And don't get me started on the amount of inconsistencies with the plot.

Interception

I appreciate that we got a truly full length standalone. The love between Charae and Dinero was pure but the obstacles were certain to comes as they do with young love. Will that love endure? That was the question. Money drove me crazy because why were you even with Harper after you retired? What was keeping you there sir 😂.

This has to be her best book yet. This was one of my top books of the year. Her pen game just elevates with each book. She clearly puts her all, her blood sweat and tears, her passion into each release. And I can’t wait for her next one. Sensational

WOW!

This book emotionally broke me and then healed me in the end. The beginning of Charae’s journey is traumatizing to say the least. What she went through along with her foster sister that was later revealed in detail, happens daily to children in the foster care system. Dinero, a teenager too at the time… becomes Charae’s savior during a time when she has no more fight left in her. Both teens learn to trust and be vulnerable with each other. However, life comes with mistakes and consequences, some we can come back from and some we can’t, without intensive work, etc. Lies, Betrayal, & Secrets have a way of coming out and tearing people apart. Charae couldn’t catch a break, I ached for her deeply! To witness the growth that transpires between Charae and Dinero as adults was touching; Dinero’s loss was heavy!.. MY GOODNESS!!. Charae’s confidence she gained within herself was powerful. This book left me looking at a wall in deep thought and then laying it down to take a nap, I needed a serious reset. It is so much to unpack and this review didn’t even scratch the surface. Charae to Dinero- “You loved me when I was broken, and now I get to love you whole”.

Started strong and then…..

In the beginning I thought for sure this would be a five star read for me but toward the middle it sort of went down hill.

My heart broke for Charae. She literally could not catch a break and I feel like she went through hardship the majority of the book and it was just too sad to read. I did read the trigger warning but oh my goodness I still was not prepared for the gruesome details. It literally brought me to tears. I was glad dinero came in her life and made it so much better. The love the two of them had for one another was so beautiful in the beginning and then he went off to college……

I thought dinero was the perfect MMC at first. He was kind, caring , attentive and protective. I love how he handled charae with care. Despite him having his own personal issues he still became her rock and that was amazing of him. So when he went off to college and everything went down hill it threw me off kilter. The decisions he made became so out of character for how he was originally introduced. He became a hypocrite. He got mad at charae about what drake said and didn’t even hear her out to see her side of the story. Like why would you believe the same guy Roman warned you was a snake over the love of your life ? Then later on he got mad that she didn’t tell him the full truth as if he ever gave her a chance to. He got mad about not knowing the twins existed but never listened when she tried to tell him. He got mad about her keeping secrets but then kept the BIG secret of him being engaged with the woman he cheated on her with (even though we later learn the truth about that ). He slept with the both of them at the same time and basically had charae as a side chick. I became disgusted with him. Honestly that’s what did it for me. I started to not like the book as much because of him. It made no sense for him to not even love Harper at all but drag his feet with breaking it off. Charae couldn’t even go on a date before he’d block it but he was introducing the twins to Harper like he was going to be with her forever .

I hated the way Charae sold herself short for him. Luckily he was inlove with her because otherwise he could’ve dogged her out and marry another woman and she would have still slept with him and waited on him.

The story has inconsistencies. Nero was supposed to be street smart but Harper and her dad was able to pull a wool over his head so easily? Charae was the love of his life but after the break up he was partying and sleeping with other women like she doesn’t matter? He couldn’t live in a world where he didn’t have Charae but he was really going to marry Harper at one point ? Charae had no idea he was engaged when both him and Harper were basically public figures ?

Tootie and Roman’s excuse were not good enough for me. They definitely could have done more and be much better parents as he got older instead of having him basically raise himself. Once he became a teenager they definitely could have told the truth.

This story became long and drawn out after a while and didn’t fill the wholes in the story until the last 5%.

I loved the twins. Moolah was something else. Even though the things he said seemed beyond his age.

Good Book…..But

I first want to say this was a really good book and the story was so compelling! Lots of twist and turns and surprises and I love how we meet the characters in their teens and then get to know them in adulthood. The story being so good is why I gave it 4 stars but I was so bothered by what wasn’t written it feels like more of a 3.5 star.

I personally don’t like when authors skip important conversations or moments in books and this book did A LOT of that! I have read several books by Kami before and I don’t remember this being the case, but this book did that a lot and it took away from the story and my enjoyment.

SPOILER ALERT: Don’t read if you don’t want spoilers!

An example of something missing is we didn’t get to experience the main character’s first intimate interaction after they reconnected. We were just TOLD they were having lots of sex. Well how did they get there? What was that conversation or moment like? I felt cheated out of that. I mean after 13 years apart how did they navigate coming back together intimately? How did they feel after? I had so many questions.

I also wanted to know how the boys took their parents adding onto the family. Why didn’t we get to see that conversation? How did Moola react particularly? Were they mad, happy, what? That was an important moment that I also felt cheated out of. Not to mention I would have thought they would be upset to see their mother pregnant and dad engaged to someone else. I needed to see how they felt about all of that and the conversations that connected to it. I also would have liked Dinero to share the information he found out about his uncle and Tootie in a meaningful conversation with Charae since she was a big part of his relationship with them when they were younger. Her reaction was kind of just glossed over. I feel like that was something he would have shared with her right away even with everything else going on.

There were also situations that happened in flashbacks that I would have liked to see in real time. This was a longer novel so I think adding those elements would have added to the story. I don’t like when important parts of a story are missing. It makes it feel incomplete.

I know I said a lot, but overall I liked the story it was just lacking in some important areas that made it less than what it could be.
I will still try more books from Kami because like I said, I don’t remember this in her previous stories about the Graham family. Those books were FIRE🔥! Happy reading all!

PS: PLEASE take heed of the trigger warnings, some scenes were difficult to get through.

5 ⭐’s

Omgggggg I don’t even know where to begin on this here book. I loved it from beginning to end, it was so well written and I loved each character. It was the perfect pace every event that happened fit perfectly into the story. I wanted to cry so many damn times that’s how you know it was good.

First off lets get into my girl Charae aka sunny, i loved her from the very first moment she was introduced. In the beginning she had her problems and what she went through, my poor baby that broke my heart completely, but I loved how she held on and made it. I really loved how she finally stood up for herself in that one scene then throughout the book I just loved how she grew and matured and didn't let her past define her most of the time. She was put through hell but my baby came out on top and showed them mfs who she really was okayyyyy!!

Now Dinero aka Money lmao this man here was it for me. I loved him and sunny down okay. I was living for them. He was crazy asf but he had every right to be with his upbringing and whatnot and the people he had around him. He beat all odds and also showed mfs that he wasn't what they were trying to make him be, he was better than that. As long as he had sunny by his side he was alright.

I was just so damn giddy throughout this whole book eek omg I just loved them down and i was happy asf that they finally got they happy ending and could finally be a family. Anyway I loved this book down and it will def be a book that I reread in the near future.

Charae (Sunny) & Dinero (Money) had a rough upbringing. With sunny bouncing from foster home to foster home and facing constant abuse (physically, mentally, sexually sadly) she is traumatized. rightfully so. And dinero is this cool calm collected football player on the outside but on the inside he’s hiding some anger and trauma from his own life after losing his parents and not really having the typical family structure. So when dinero unintentionally comes to her rescue by sneaking her food, a bond begins to form especially when he realizes that she’s actually someone he’s interested in, can count on, and want to protect. So from best friends to high school sweethearts we see him protecting her against everything thrown at her. Sunny + money against the world… however I rated it a 4.5 stars because there was some miscommunication trope and stuff going on. We see these two break up in college after a miscommunication and some unfortunate event happens to sunny. Despite their greatest effort and love for each other, life steers them to a different path. Dinero goes on to be an NFL player like he always dreamed while sunny becomes a physical therapist. All while managing having twin boys. This is where the story takes off because these twin boys happen to bump into their father at a football practice… aka Mr dinero. Theres a bunch of unanswered questions but he knows in the back of his mind these boys belong to him. We begin to see dinero learning to fit into their routine as a father, two love birds flocking to each other and trying to get it right this time because the chemistry is still there, friendships, etc. I will say I was kind of irritated that it took so long for them to make it official in the book because of the whole situation with dineros crazy finance, but it was worth it. And girllll her sons did not play about sunny. They didn’t care if you were a stranger or their father, they were sticking up for sunny. Moolah comebacks towards dineros finance —- chefs kiss. Then at the end where we see such a young boy do what he has to do to protect his pregnant mom, and brother. That alone made the story worth it.

They deserved their flowers for this book. And one thing for certain, dinero was standing 10 toes down behind sunny. Wasn’t nobody going to hurt her without him hurting them worser.

Dramatic, messy, entertaining…like a written soap opera

Well first thing, definitely pay attention to the trigger warnings because some scenes do not pull any punches.

But Kami has a knack for entertaining drama and twists and turns and she had it here again. Money and Sunny went through it over and over again, especially Sunny, before they got their happy ending.

However, I will say it was hard to enjoy the good moments sometimes when the pregnancy trope was used *twice* to bring them back together instead of proper reconciliation and the fact that Money was unbelievably hypocritical and lacked discernment for so many people. Even with his claims of being able to read people sooo well and having two separate warnings from Uncle Ro about snakes around him…about the same person! He thought with his little head and pride way too often and the resolution to all the secrets came way too late for me to root for him like I would most MMC’s.

As for Sunny, girl couldn’t catch a break but I hated how a lot of the blame for a lot of the drama was placed on her like she wasn’t a teenage victim who was targeted the entire first quarter of the book. And Money was an a$$ for making the situation with Drake all about him and his feelings over Sunny not going to him. Not once did he step back and consider her perspective as the victim, nor did he apologize for taking Drake’s word over hers when he knew he was a jealous snake. He wanted her to apologize for not trusting enough him to tell him but he shattered her trust when he didn’t trust her over Drake. Then turning around and lying and keeping his own secrets for the whole next section of the story, and then guilted her into trusting him again when he was keeping the whole story from her!

Finally, there were definitely plot holes with Uncle Ro’s alleged power and “eyes” on Money, but then having the deus ex machina resolution to all the opposition at the end felt lazy and rushed for a 600 page book full of drama.

But loved Moolah and Cash, Ciera, and for the most part Tamia (until she too tried to put the blame for their situationship on Sunny) and wanting to confirm all my suspicions around Harper had me not wanting to put it down.

Sometimes you read a longish book and your happy you had more content to read through and sometimes you read a long book and you realise senseless things that took away from it made it unnecessarily long, I hated the graphicness of the assaults especially as this book is ultimately aimed at adults, had to skip through that. The mark of a great writer is knowing when to allude to things at some point I had to stop and check if the book was written by a man. This could have been a great story about a second chance without adding all the unnecessary drama, Harper etc. it took away everything that had been built up for Nero’s character by making him this dishonest (because omission is dishonest)person who is now a cheater, it does not matter that it is an open relationship, couldn’t even care for any nice things he said because a man that loves someone does not do that. In the grand scheme of things this should not matter but the names of the kids are horrible, I get the play on the whole money but come on, Moolah’d attitude is horrible and since I’ve been given no reason to think any of the adults he is being raised by were so vile it was really annoying to read through especially with Charae having stated she is assertive but there was no evidence of that. The child angry at the world could have been done better in an age appropriate way that didn’t seem like he was being raised in the streets, constantly in his mum’s business asking about intimate things😕 ah man it could have been such a great book. Also hate the fact that the author felt the need to put Charae through that multiple times like, living factors considered and all it was excessive. (This part of the review was written 66% into the book) As a concept I liked Charae and Dinero it’s as though the author doesn’t want me to, the supposedly smart guy is absolutely oblivious throughout everything and taking everything at face value 😞. I think at the core of it I just really hated that he kept on having sexual relations with Harper whilst saying he loved Sunny after he found her again 😞 I was a frustrated reader that only got peace when we reached the aftermath

COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!!!

holy moly did this book take me on an emotional roller coaster!😅 at no point of this book could i have predicted what was to come. when i think im coming down from an emotional ride, kami said “sike!!!” from the very beginning, this book captured my attention and DID NOT let go. ive experienced sadness, anger (LOTS of it), happiness and so much more.

Charae has been through so much my heart goes out to her. she’s been an orphan since age 2 going from foster home to foster home. each one treating her worse than the last. what broke my heart was how she was mistreated at her last foster home. survived all types of abuse; mental, emotional, physical, sexual you name it. poor girl did not deserve any of it. she thought no one noticed her or cared or her but Dinero (Money) Sutton did.

from jump he showed her what being cared for feels like. what being put first feels like. what being TRULY loved feels like. they were living the dream until they weren’t….

to not spoil the book, stuff happened that separated them. but what they don’t know is what God has out together no man can tear apart. fate had the last word. they found there way to each other but not without their fair trials and tribulations.

the couple went through so much i was hurting for them😭. BUT they got on the other side. lessons were learned, tear were shed but they found their way to each other once again.

Dinero is what i call an alpha male deserving of the title. he takes care of business honey and he NEVER lets ANYONE mess with his “Sunny” 🥹. when i tell you i could not out the book down!! it was so well written so engaging and the plot kept getting thicker and juicier. 1000% recommend reading this.

WARNING: this is a heavy read. might trigger some people. proceed accordingly. if you’re able to stomach the heavy topics, this will be well worth it i promise!

this was really good!

I typically dont enjoy books with a lot of flashbacks or drawn out backstories…but this ended up being an exception! Its longer than books in this category typically are - but its engaging from beginning to end. It was beautiful to see how deeply connected the main characters were and their journey to HEA. Definitely heed the trigger warnings! I thought charae would never catch a break. Dinero was such a stand up guy from the beginning…but along the way made some very dumb decisions lol. Likeeee I saw through Harper from jump so idk how he missed it. I did wish Charae stood on business a little more when they reconnected - because I didnt want her to be a side chick. But i also didnt feel bad for Harper. I took off one star because the final reveal didnt come until the very end. Like at 95% I was getting nervous about how it would all come together with less than 20 pages left. I think with the length of this book, the culmination could’ve been given more time. And there were other plot points/moments in their relationship that i wished the reader could have “witnessed. Instead they were referred to or recounted briefly. I dont want to give specifics and give the plot away. But with the book already being long, it wouldn’t have hurt to actually have those moments play out. Nonetheless would still recommend this book. And wouldnt mind seeing Ciera get her own book. And maybe even Tamia. Or the twins all grown up!

Amazinngggg…a second read will be happening

Kami you took your time with this one. It felt as if I was watching a movie play out. This was an emotional rollercoaster from beginning to end. Sunny and Dinero experienced too much too soon—love, loss, abuse, and everything in between. Dinero was in fact the Prince Charming in her Cinderella story. There’s so much to unpack here that I don’t know where to start. These two loved each other hard and fast. Witnessing them go their separate ways hurt my heart, especially with all the underhanded crap happening to them. Yet, all it took was a few years and smart mouthed kid to get them back in each other’s orbit. Once the truth was revealed, Dinero stepped behind the twins despite pushback from Moolah’s lil behind. I swooned over his unwavering love for Sunny even when she was running from him. That man loved her down and vice versa. I’m content with the ending for this one. If any characters ever needed a happy ending, these two sure did.

While I don’t agree with Dinero being left living like a grown man, I loved that Tootie and Ro didn’t leave him completely defenseless. Plus they were clearly the only sane adults around when Sunny and Dinero were growing up since it was clear that Dennis, Vera, Drake, Harper and her crazy daddy were complete lunatics. The things Sunny, Ciera, and Dinero—even Tamia—experienced are things I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I felt all had gotten vengeance by the ending though.
