A Presidency Measured in Hours. A Nation Teetering on the Brink. In the third book in the Bull Moose Series, Inauguration Eve 2045 arrives, and although Jackson Piper has been selected President by Congress, America is unknowingly on the brink of war.
President Marco Alvarez is shot by the Secret Service, but not before issuing a nuclear strike order that is either a strike of vengeance or allegiance. In the vacuum of power, the Constitution thrusts Speaker Sylvester Billings into the presidency to steer the nation through crisis for nine hours while the unknowing nation sleeps.
But peace may not greet the dawn. Inside the White House, Olivia Clay faces an impossible help her former adversary steer a wounded republic through crisis, or deliver him to a Cabinet of vipers still loyal to the dead regime. The only path to survival may lie in the unthinkable—trusting sentient machines.
Meanwhile, President Billings unleashes the power of the presidency to locate Aurelia Avignon, the U.S. Archivist who vanished after smuggling him the Electoral College certifications that made Piper’s victory possible. The path to finding her may lie in clues locked in a memory from 12 years ago—when a disillusioned Congressman named Jackson Piper traveled to Italy and stumbled into a labyrinth of sex, money, and betrayal that would define his destiny.
Now, as the clock races toward noon, America faces one final reckoning.
Will it welcome its first Bull Moose president—or be destroyed by Alvarez in his most heinous act before the oath is sworn?
Readers who love the razor-sharp political intrigue of James Patterson’s The President is Missing or the morally complex power struggles of Michael Dobbs’ House of Cards will find themselves at home in Fedor’s dystopian world where hope is rising.
Michael Fedor brings 20 years of political organizing and storytelling experience to win a new audience – readers. His style makes his political fiction novels deliciously thrilling, and his meticulous research ensures they are terrifyingly plausible. Michael has built a reputation as a gifted strategist and a visionary leader. But inside, there remains an itch to use the power of the pen to move people and the world with ideas.
Heeding his own advice to his students to “seize the day,” Michael dusted off a novel he wrote but never published in 2004. Like a Jane Goodall of modern politics, he uses his observations and experiences in the wild, wooly worlds of Washington, DC, and state capitols to tell captivating stories of power, politics, and the human condition. The first book in a new political thriller series, What It Takes to Kill a Bull Moose (Book 1), is set for release in early 2024.
Earning both master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Penn State, Michael says the single greatest takeaway from his alma mater was meeting his best friend and love of his life, Serena, who is a fellow Penn State alumna. Michael and Serena will celebrate 20 years of marriage in 2024. They live in Pennsylvania, raising three boys to have imagination, healthy loves of ice cream, and generous souls.
Like the main character of Bull Moose, Michael is an avid outdoorsman, a voracious reader, and a student of history. Michael is still undefeated at Pub Trivia.

The story begins with the death of Pres. Marco Alvarez who became President after the death of the previous one a month earlier. It seems that Marco was attempting to choke his fiancée Olivia and was shot by the Secret Service. As a result of this death and with no Vice President, the Speaker of the House, Sylvester Billings, became President for the last 9 hours before Jackson Piper would be given the oath after he was elected. Once Billings got to the White House and took the oath, he discovered that Marco had issued two executive orders before his death. Once was the arrest of Jackson Piper and the 2nd was to launch nuclear missiles.
The story then is split between the efforts that Billings took to stop the launching of the missiles and an earlier description of Piper's initial foreign trip to Italy when he first became a congressman. Piper's Italy trip brought him to meet Aurelia Avignon who was a congressional staff member. Aurelia would play a role later as part of Billings' staff. Discover how Piper and Aurelia became well acquainted while in Italy.
The actions that President Billings was forced to perform in his attempt to prevent a nuclear war with China was well documented and informative. Learn what Marco did behind the scenes that created a major problem as well.
This is definitely an excellent story and highlights events outside of the Bull Moose party, but it is just an important, This is definitely worth reading and you won't be disappointed. It will leave you wanting to find out what happens once Piper is inaugurated.
