At Eden University, where prestige and power reign, Eve Mason does her best to go unnoticed by the elites. A scholarship student with a haunting past, she keeps to herself, always in the background. Unfortunately, Eve's quiet world shatters the moment she inadvertently crosses paths with a dark stranger. This brooding, enigmatic figure has secrets and demons of his own and Eve knows she should stay as far removed from his dark depths as she can.

This stranger rules in the world of privilege, but he’s drawn to Eve in ways that even he can’t explain. Beneath his cold exterior lies a man with a history far darker than anyone could imagine, and he recognizes the same inky darkness in Eve.

As their mysterious attraction grows, so does the tension. Dark pasts, long held bonds, and evil intent collide when everyone seems to have something to hide. Eve's tenuous relationship spirals into something both thrilling and toxic as they find themselves caught in a game far more dangerous than either anticipated.

But in a place where everyone has a dark side and no one can be trusted, can Eve and the stranger figure out who the real villains are? Or will their own pasts destroy them before they can unravel the truth?

Of Flesh & Bone by Eve Moore is an emotional rollercoaster that kept me hooked from start to finish!

In just two days, I devoured this audiobook, my first by Moore, and it won’t be my last. The chemistry between Adam and Eve is electric. Adam is the possessive, unhinged MMC we didn’t know we needed, while Eve is a complex character with secrets buried so deep she’s not even aware of them. Their connection is instantaneous and intense; by their first date, they’re ready to move in together!

The narrators, Dani Soleil and James Dalton, did a fantastic job of bringing Eve and Adam to life. You really get to dig in and understand who they are through their portrayals. As we learn more about Eve’s haunting past, it becomes clear why she struggles with crowds and intimacy. She’s broken but resilient, and Adam, with all his darkness, is determined to help her heal. If you enjoy stories with darker themes, strong women, and a whole lot of smut, this book is for you. The blend of romance and suspense makes for an unforgettable listen. Highly recommend! 🔥📖❤️

Holy cow! The last third of this book was awesome. There are triggers especially with controlling, narcissistic behavior. A little too much sex in the beginning but hang in there. You won’t be sorry.

SPOILERS!!

I don’t even know where to start with Of Flesh and Bone. I have two authors I’m usually very loyal to. The kind who always deliver with detail, tension, and that perfect “leave you hanging” feeling. Their stories are a little predictable in the best way, where you think you know what’s coming… but you’re never fully sure.

And then Eve Moore came along and completely blew them both out of the water.

Eve Mason was everything I needed her to be. Strong, sharp, unapologetic and the buildup around her never once dropped. It stayed tight all the way through the very last page. I literally caught myself covering my eyes and reading through my fingers like a goof because I was genuinely afraid to turn the page… but couldn’t stop myself. That kind of tension is rare.

I loved that Eve never faltered. Not once. And the fact that she could roast absolutely anyone? Perfection.

Adam… at first I was like, sir, please let this girl breathe. But it was also incredibly hot that he knew exactly what he wanted and refused to back down. Later, I realized that if he had given her that space, she would’ve been completely lost and that made everything click.

Scenes that absolutely made my head go 🤯:

• The body armor scene: right out of the gate. (Eve Moore came out swinging)
• The canvas scene. I was internally screaming: No he is not. He is not doing this. Okay… he is. Okay then. You know what? Go Adam. Do your thing.
• Every moment Adam pulled Eve out of her own head.
• The bar fight… holy 💩!
• “That one was free. The next one will cost you in flesh.” I immediately thought, oh no… y’all better be moving faster. And then later, when he makes her repeat it: “I asked her what her last breaths tasted like.” Actual chills.
• I was in a full fit of giggles when she kept shooting him and then casually proceeded on to Cotton and Cal.

And then there was Paul.

At first, I was fully in the yeah, that’s right, you deserve this mindset. Like, good, he won’t be hurting any more women. And then he was untied. And flipped over. And I just knew. I went from ain’t no way… to Adam don’t do it… to too far, Adammmm… to aw man, he did it.

You know a book is exceptional when it’s nearly impossible to choose a favorite character and this was absolutely one of those books.

This story had fear, heat, strength, wit, and relentless tension. I’m still thinking about it and honestly, that says everything.

The audio for this is amazing. Dani Soleil and James Dalton absolutely crushed this one. Duet Style and they were perfect to play these characters.

This was an intense and super spicy romance. Adam and Eve had this immediate connection and their relationship was a bit obsessive and very codependent- but I was feral for it. The suspense and plot twist were also insane- I truly didn’t see it coming. The found family was fun, the banter was entertaining and the author gave Eve the best quips. I am a fan of this author and will definitely be reading more from her

A new author to me and I can’t believe this is a debut, I loved it, great plot with unexpected twists, brilliant side characters and a gripping story from the start - I couldn’t stop listening.

This is a dark college romance with a morally grey MMC, unhinged, slightly feral and possessive with touch her and 💀 vibes, I loved him! But what I really loved about this book, is that it also has a strong, morally grey FMC, whom I adored. Eve has suffered a lot of trauma, which is gradually revealed throughout the book, and she’s come out fighting - she gives as good as she gets, the MMC is fiercely protective of her, but she really doesn’t need it!

There’s lots of spice here but also plenty of plot to go alongside, there’s no slow burn, we are straight into things, but through the book, there runs the thread of fated mates, with the character names (slight spoiler) of Adam and Eve, there’s the idea of meant to be and soulmates. I loved the all-consuming passion that each has for the other.

There are definite surprises and twists and turns as events are gradually revealed - I was desperate to know how it was going to end, racing through and listening every moment I could. Great found family, one of those books with strong and distinct side characters where you can’t wait to read their books - do I 👀 read or wait for the audio later this year?

I really recommend the audiobook as it’s duet and very well done. I really think the audiobook enhances the experience. The narrators, Dani Soleil and James Dalton, were both new to me but I’ll definitely listen to more by them.

I have loved dark academia ever since I read The Secret History all those years ago, so this one was possibly always going to be a hit for me, but I’ll definitely want to re-listen, which is always a sign of a hit. Definitely read if you like books like Nightshade, Nocticadia and Legacy of Gods.

Audiobook kindly provided by the author.

VERY GOOD READ

This is the first book I have read by this author and I will be reading more of her work. I loved the dialogue. I loved the tandem narration. The book kept me wondering what was going to happen next. There are twists and turns and the spice, well it’s hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥. If you have triggers you may not want to read, but for me I was what I enjoy in a book.

I’m so elated I was blessed to read this early! This book had a lot of action! You will not be bored. Loved the chapter lengths. The side characters were top notch. I can’t wait to see what is in store for them in the following books. Really loved how this was tied together in a nice little bow at the end too ❤️

So I have many thoughts:

Firstly, the beginning was not great.
I nearly stopped reading 4 chapters in.
The writing was difficult , clunky and just hard to get through.

Here are some of my first impressions:

Alright…straight off the bat, it’s clunky, here are some direct quotes...
“Whew!”
“I’ve never seen a mountain that beautiful.” - what?

Formatting is strange and irritating

“Three tall, gorgeous men” - ugh. Let’s find better adjectives…
“my body still sizzles with the feel of his eyes on me.” - oh no…not the body sizzles…please let the writing settle down.

“We would all go to war with the world for one another even though we’ve only known each other a short time”. - oh, no.
“Humpf.” - sigh

This being said… luckily for us all, the writing DID settle down and got progressively better. By the end, I dare say it’s good.

The plot was decent. But for ALL the characters to have known each other? It felt a bit contrived.

I liked the way the vulnerability of each character is delved into.

I definitely wanted to know more about Eli, Cotton and Cal.

All in all, it did not suck. But it wasn’t what I personally would consider superb. Hence my 3⭐️ rating.

Ok, Adam is a lot, but if you love a morally grey and extremely possessive and obsessed MMC and a damaged yet baddie FMC, then this one might be for you!

This one is also on the extra spicy side and the first half of the book really seems to be mostly spice but things really start to pick up in the second half and then about the last 3rd, we really get into the chaos and learn so much more of what we have been trying to figure out all along.

I really loved Eve. Even though she is young, she has had a hard life and seems more mature than most her age. She is strong, sassy, and completely unapologetic. No matter what happened with her, she never faltered. This girl has been through it!

Adam, I really wasn't so sure about him if I am being honest. He is a lot and completely over the top, but he knew exactly what he wanted and he wasn't going to back down. The more you get into the story, you realize, he kind of had to be that way with her. He has handed her his heart on a platter and would do absolutely anything for her.

I listened to this one and it was duet narration by Dani Soleil and James Dalton and I feel like they did a phenomenal job. They portrayed both characters so well and really brought the story to life.

Make sure you check your triggers and know that you're getting lots of spice, an unhinged and possessive MMC and a baddie FMC. Huge thank you to the author for sharing the audiobook with me!

Amazing

I wasn't sure about this one. Never been so wrong. This had me from Chapter 1. This hit every box for me. The MCs are freaking adorable. The banter between them is 💋. The side characters are unforgettable. But there are some unanswered questions. Hopefully we get a Book 2?

This was such a surprising read. I had no clue what this was about and I think that makes for a better experience. So often we go in with expectations of the plot line in our head without that we can just enjoy the ride as it enfolds. I did this and it was wild. It was like this unicorn that walked down the street and convinced you it was a regular occurrence. The plot comes to get her well and the characters are developed. If you listen the audio it is really fun.

Really good story line and plot. It is very spicy 🥵 I did enjoy the book as a whole but there were a few moments I really wanted to throat punch Adam lol. Not my type of book boyfriend but I know he's someone's cup of tea. I loved Eve. The twist with the story was a little shocking.

3.5 ⭐️

I wanted to love this book but I just didnt. I have never in my life skipped spicy scenes but this book made me. Not because they were badly written but because it was like every other page and toward the end I was just over them. I feel like book had some plot holes and that it needed more back story of some of the characters. Why was the MMC so obessive? I dont know it never gave is any back story on him. Why was the villian the way they were? I dont know it never gave any back story. Also I am not a big fan of insta love but ive read better. Overall it was ok. Im hoping the next book is better!

The story line had my hooked from the beginning, and the spiciness is real! Both narrators did a fantastic job! I love when their are duo narrative as it helps immerse into the storyline. I love how consistent the story was and always action of some sort going on keeping me hanging on the edge of my chair! I would definitely be recommending to my fellow spicy book lovers!

I finished only bc I felt terrible with the amount of dnfs I’ve had this month. I didn’t love this. And until the last 75 percent not much happened in the plot except lots and lots of sex and then all of a sudden stuff started happening and I was kind of blindsided with where it came from.

In Of Flesh & Bone, Eve Moore delivers an intense, super spicy dark college romance that grips you from the very first page. Set against the prestigious backdrop of Eden University—where privilege masks deep-seated rot—the story follows Eve Mason, a scholarship student living on the fringes with a haunting past she desperately tries to keep hidden.

Her quiet world shatters when she collides with Adam Davenport, a brooding and dangerous man who recognizes the same inky darkness in Eve that he carries within himself. Their connection is immediate, obsessive, and beautifully codependent; I was absolutely feral for the way their "fated mates" energy played out through the names Adam and Eve.

The plot is much more than just the high-heat spice, though there is plenty of that to enjoy. It is a thrilling game of cat and mouse where no one can be trusted, balanced by entertaining banter and a fantastic found family dynamic. Eve is a standout protagonist—a morally grey FMC who has survived trauma and comes out fighting with the best quips, proving she’s just as formidable as her fiercely protective, "touch her and die" counterpart.

The suspense kept me on edge, and the twists were genuinely insane; I truly didn't see the biggest reveals coming. The audiobook experience is a total standout and, in my opinion, the absolute best way to consume this story. Narrated in a flawless duet style, Dani Soleil and James Dalton perfectly embody these characters.

Dani beautifully captures Eve’s internal struggle and resilience, while James delivers a controlled, chilling performance that adds incredible depth to Adam’s darkness. Even though these narrators were new to me, they crushed this performance and kept me fully immersed. This was a gripping, unputdownable listen, and I am officially a fan of Eve Moore—I can’t wait to see if the side characters get their own stories next.

Of Flesh and Bone is a beautiful dark academia story. Eve is a scholarship student and volleyball player at the elite Eden University in Austin. She goes to class, plays volleyball and spends time with her best friends/roommates-Vaughn and Eli. At school, she keeps her head down and tries not to be noticed. This all changes when she literally runs into Adam one day. He’s obsessed and will do anything for her/to possess her. What happens between these two soulmates? What happens when her past comes back to haunt her? Sit back, relax and get ready for a wild, romantic ride.
The duet narration by Dani Soleil and James Dalton was extraordinary. Dani Soleil was magnificent as sweet, sassy, brilliant, strong Eve. I could feel all of her hurt, pain, fear, terror, uncertainty, vulnerability, strength, sass, lust, passion and love through her voice. James Dalton was spectacular as obsessive, possessive,,morally gray, unhinged quarterback Adam. The menacing tone he used with enemies, etc. was chilling and perfect. I loved his dominance and how he showed Eve his love and devotion. These two talented voice actors brought this story to life masterfully. I highly recommend listening to this fabulous audiobook.

At Eden University, privilege masks secrets and power hides rot beneath the surface. Eve Mason lives on the fringes—until her path collides with Adam Davenport, a dangerous, enigmatic man who mirrors the darkness she carries inside. Their connection ignites a spiral of tension, mystery, and emotional danger where nothing—and no one—can be trusted.

Oh my gosh the absolute roller coaster Of Flesh and Bone was had me in a tale spin. Dani Soleil was perfect, she had the innocent yet surprisingly dangerous Eve down. James Dalton had the perfect voice for our unhinged obsessive Adam. I absolutely loved how the story played out, from Adam being the dangerous and morally black. To Eve being both a wallflower hiding from everyone and a blank faced dangerous force that not even she understands. Oh did I mention the spice? Because it’s red freaking hot. Adam loved that he had all Eve’s firsts and he relishes every new thing he teaches her. There are so many things in Eve’s past that we get tiny glimpses of throughout the book. Don’t worry, we aren’t left hanging but I wasn’t prepared for the answers. Wild!!

Flesh and Bone is a novel that, unfortunately, fell short of my expectations. While the characters were decent, the storyline left much to be desired. One notable thread was the protagonist’s psychologist, who played a significant role in her dissociation, hinting at deeper, unresolved trauma. However, that angle was never fully explored, leaving me with a sense of unfulfilled potential. The plot overall felt flat, with multiple loose ends and concepts that never came to fruition. While it might appeal to some, it ultimately didn’t deliver the gripping, cohesive experience I had hoped for.

How bias is it to give my own book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️? Well, it would be silly not to, right?
Of Flesh & Bone is your go to book for morally grey everyone, OTT possessive MMC (emphasis on the OTT), found family, soulmates, hidden pasts, and so much more! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I swear I’m normal in real life. 🤪

This starts with an instant connection, Insta love, but it quickly has twist and turns we have a possessive MMC that doesn’t let anyone touch what’s his. We have a socially anxious FMC that has emotional trauma and baggage from the past the twist and turns in the story had me turning the Pages nonstop. Highly recommend!
