At Eden University, where prestige and power reign, Eve Mason does her best to go unnoticed by the elites. A scholarship student with a haunting past, she keeps to herself, always in the background. Unfortunately, Eve's quiet world shatters the moment she inadvertently crosses paths with a dark stranger. This brooding, enigmatic figure has secrets and demons of his own and Eve knows she should stay as far removed from his dark depths as she can.
This stranger rules in the world of privilege, but he’s drawn to Eve in ways that even he can’t explain. Beneath his cold exterior lies a man with a history far darker than anyone could imagine, and he recognizes the same inky darkness in Eve.
As their mysterious attraction grows, so does the tension. Dark pasts, long held bonds, and evil intent collide when everyone seems to have something to hide. Eve's tenuous relationship spirals into something both thrilling and toxic as they find themselves caught in a game far more dangerous than either anticipated.
But in a place where everyone has a dark side and no one can be trusted, can Eve and the stranger figure out who the real villains are? Or will their own pasts destroy them before they can unravel the truth?
Absolutely loved! Eve is such a broken soul and I love that Adam is trying so hard for her. I have so many questions that’s I can’t wait for book 2! I need to know more about Eli.
Holy cow! The last third of this book was awesome. There are triggers especially with controlling, narcissistic behavior. A little too much sex in the beginning but hang in there. You won’t be sorry.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I will be reading more of her work. I loved the dialogue. I loved the tandem narration. The book kept me wondering what was going to happen next. There are twists and turns and the spice, well it’s hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥. If you have triggers you may not want to read, but for me I was what I enjoy in a book.

I’m so elated I was blessed to read this early! This book had a lot of action! You will not be bored. Loved the chapter lengths. The side characters were top notch. I can’t wait to see what is in store for them in the following books. Really loved how this was tied together in a nice little bow at the end too ❤️
Firstly, the beginning was not great. I nearly stopped reading 4 chapters in. The writing was difficult , clunky and just hard to get through.
Here are some of my first impressions:
Alright…straight off the bat, it’s clunky, here are some direct quotes... “Whew!” “I’ve never seen a mountain that beautiful.” - what?
Formatting is strange and irritating
“Three tall, gorgeous men” - ugh. Let’s find better adjectives… “my body still sizzles with the feel of his eyes on me.” - oh no…not the body sizzles…please let the writing settle down.
“We would all go to war with the world for one another even though we’ve only known each other a short time”. - oh, no. “Humpf.” - sigh
This being said… luckily for us all, the writing DID settle down and got progressively better. By the end, I dare say it’s good.
The plot was decent. But for ALL the characters to have known each other? It felt a bit contrived.
I liked the way the vulnerability of each character is delved into.
I definitely wanted to know more about Eli, Cotton and Cal.
All in all, it did not suck. But it wasn’t what I personally would consider superb. Hence my 3⭐️ rating.
I wasn't sure about this one. Never been so wrong. This had me from Chapter 1. This hit every box for me. The MCs are freaking adorable. The banter between them is 💋. The side characters are unforgettable. But there are some unanswered questions. Hopefully we get a Book 2?
This was such a surprising read. I had no clue what this was about and I think that makes for a better experience. So often we go in with expectations of the plot line in our head without that we can just enjoy the ride as it enfolds. I did this and it was wild. It was like this unicorn that walked down the street and convinced you it was a regular occurrence. The plot comes to get her well and the characters are developed. If you listen the audio it is really fun.
I say toxic but really it's they are crazy in love and they don't care who knows jt . The possessive attitude they each have is pretty hott. I couldn't stop laughing when she took care of the ex.
I wanted to love this book but I just didnt. I have never in my life skipped spicy scenes but this book made me. Not because they were badly written but because it was like every other page and toward the end I was just over them. I feel like book had some plot holes and that it needed more back story of some of the characters. Why was the MMC so obessive? I dont know it never gave is any back story on him. Why was the villian the way they were? I dont know it never gave any back story. Also I am not a big fan of insta love but ive read better. Overall it was ok. Im hoping the next book is better!
The story line had my hooked from the beginning, and the spiciness is real! Both narrators did a fantastic job! I love when their are duo narrative as it helps immerse into the storyline. I love how consistent the story was and always action of some sort going on keeping me hanging on the edge of my chair! I would definitely be recommending to my fellow spicy book lovers!
I finished only bc I felt terrible with the amount of dnfs I’ve had this month. I didn’t love this. And until the last 75 percent not much happened in the plot except lots and lots of sex and then all of a sudden stuff started happening and I was kind of blindsided with where it came from.
Duet Narration by Dani Soleil & James Dalton 4.75⭐️
Tropes: Dark Academia Slow Burn Mystery Morally Gray Romance Secrets
At Eden University, privilege masks secrets and power hides rot beneath the surface. Eve Mason lives on the fringes—until her path collides with Adam Davenport, a dangerous, enigmatic man who mirrors the darkness she carries inside. Their connection ignites a spiral of tension, mystery, and emotional danger where nothing—and no one—can be trusted.
The pacing starts slow, but the story steadily tightens its grip with unexpected twists. Dani Soleil beautifully captures Eve’s internal struggle and resilience, while James Dalton delivers a controlled, chilling performance that adds depth to Adam’s darkness. Their narration kept me fully immersed.
Flesh and Bone is a novel that, unfortunately, fell short of my expectations. While the characters were decent, the storyline left much to be desired. One notable thread was the protagonist’s psychologist, who played a significant role in her dissociation, hinting at deeper, unresolved trauma. However, that angle was never fully explored, leaving me with a sense of unfulfilled potential. The plot overall felt flat, with multiple loose ends and concepts that never came to fruition. While it might appeal to some, it ultimately didn’t deliver the gripping, cohesive experience I had hoped for.

How bias is it to give my own book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️? Well, it would be silly not to, right? Of Flesh & Bone is your go to book for morally grey everyone, OTT possessive MMC (emphasis on the OTT), found family, soulmates, hidden pasts, and so much more! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I swear I’m normal in real life. 🤪

I didn’t really get a feel for this book from synopsis but a friend recommended it and I am so glad. I get the feeling there will be more to this story and I’m here for it.
MUST READ: Favorite phrase “The low budget Captain Hook is cussing to himself, and it sounds like he’s crying. Keep crying you piece of shit. I’m no Tiger Lily. I’m Peter Fucking Pan!”
