She’s untouchable. My rival. My best friend’s mother.
I never expected my biggest rival to be Charlotte—the ice-cold, devastatingly gorgeous woman I’ve secretly wanted for years. And my best friend’s mom.
I came home to heal from a nasty breakup and rebuild my career, not to go to war with the most powerful event planner in the city. And not to fall for her.
If the truth gets out, I could lose everything—my job, my best friend… and Charlotte.
The way she looks at me is dangerous. The tension between us is unbearable.
This was never supposed to happen. But it’s too late to stop now.
This could be a fleeting spark… or a fire that consumes us both.
"Off Limits Flame" is an okay book, but it frustrated me in several places. It felt like the characters had conversations that weren't fully written out, which left out important context that would have made the story more enjoyable. While there were some areas where the author went into great depth, there were other sections that severely lacked information. This inconsistency detracted from my enjoyment of the book.
I particularly felt this way towards the end when significant events occurred. I would have appreciated a better understanding of the relationship with the ex-girlfriend and the breakup. This was my first time reading this author, and I do like her writing style. However, I believe the story could have been fleshed out more in certain areas to provide greater clarity, making the book overall more enjoyable.

I read this in one day. This is a great story. It has an amazing balance of ups and downs, but carries it very well. It's low to no angst so you don't get whiplashed throughout. Just a nice flow to a beautiful story that you won't regret reading. I highly recommend the novel if you like humorous banter and romantic stories. This has solid genuine characters that feel real and act accordingly that doesn't break the immersion of the journey. I have read tons of sapphic romance and this stands up there at the top. It is a quality authentic novel without being overly wordy or having an overabundance of internal monologue. Just trust me and check it out, you won't regret it.
Off Limits Flame by Lara Taylor is a story of forbidden love between two women. This story has well developed characters and a beautifully written story. The tension is perfect, with a bit of banter throughout the story. I love the undeniable chemistry between the characters. If you love a story that has some bumps along the way, pick up a copy of Off Limits Flame, you won’t regret it.

There were quite a few spelling errors and inconsistencies but overall a decent quick read. I didn't like how the two characters had zero chemistry in the beginning, even for the ice queen trope. That said, I still enjoyed the overall story and would read more by this author.
Two wonderful fully developed main characters who grabbed my heart. Lara Taylor has written a fantastic novel covering friendship, and love with depth and originality. The supporting characters are also wonderfully written and enhance this book.
Could not get enough of this amazing emotional rollercoaster love story. Both woman finding themselves in eachother, after all the heartbreak they they had to endure. A 5🌟 all the way.
This was a solid age gap romance. Charlotte’s ice and exterior and Emory’s warmth go together perfectly. I’d have liked to have seen more on the Abbie front. Like what she told the Wentworths and how Charlotte fixed it, but overall this was a good book.
I like age gap romances but not sure about falling for one's best friends mom? that being said, I also like the tension. I hate ex's that think they are everything, only to find out they are nothing and they can only try to ruin us when we push through.
