I think the issue with this books is the editing. I tend to be more forgiving on memoirs, but Melissa's memories felt more like a ramble through her past rather than a purposeful narrative. I wish that there had been more connections to which murders were happening and when, to connect the Happy Face Killer to Melissa's story more clearly.

Wow I’ve listened to several memoirs on a rough child hood and I really enjoyed this one. Through the worst situation I see a common thread of Jesus sustaining and rescuing those who have gone through unbelievable heartbreaks and situations. I didn’t even realize she was Christian until I read this book but how else could one transform their life from such circumstances? Such beauty she has created with her life from such awful circumstances.
