Sleeping with your client is bad, but what I did is even worse.

When I’m sent to Ember Falls to handle a PR nightmare, I have no idea I am creating a crisis of my own. Killian Thorn is everything I know to resist—older, rugged and handsome with mesmerizing green eyes and a wicked smile—which is why instead of running from him, I end up in his bed.

Forced to work together, our stolen kisses are the least of our worries because the scandal on Killian’s ranch continues to grow.

My job is to fix the issue, but our secret is only making it worse.

My best friend convinces me that being with my client isn’t really such a faux pas. In fact, she thinks I should go for it since I’ve always guarded my heart.

Trouble is, neither of us realize we’re talking about her dad.

There were so many things about Come What May that I truly loved. The FMC was easily one of my favorites in the series. Her passion for life and her determination to succeed made her impossible not to root for. I adored her drive and the way she went after what she wanted. The opening scene especially hooked me right away. I am always here for a good one night stand moment, and their first meeting was done so well. I also really enjoyed being back in Ember Falls and seeing familiar faces from earlier books. It felt like coming home, and that sense of community is one of the things this series does best.

That said, there were a few twists that felt a little out of left field. I didn’t dislike them and they were definitely entertaining, but some of them leaned a bit far into the unbelievable for me, which pulled me out of the story just slightly. Still, this book delivered a satisfying conclusion overall. As a whole, Come What May is a strong ending to a fantastic series, and I loved spending one last time in Ember Falls.

e-ARC review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐♾️❤️

This is where Corinne Michaels delivers a proper conclusion: she closes with a strong finish. I haven’t read her entire catalog, but I read this saga from start to finish. And what an ending: Killian and Tessa are not just the chronological conclusion they are the emotional conclusion, the point where everything comes together and the journey feels complete.

This book has been fantastic, and I’m not saying that out of favoritism or bias. It is solid, well-constructed, and stands on its own. Without exaggeration, this is one of the best Small Town Cowboys books I’ve read. I’ve read more than 30 books in the cowboy and small-town romance category, and this one is firmly in my top five.
Now, why does this book stand out?

Number 1: The plot is solid and concise. Killian and Tessa meet naturally, and their relationship flows with coherence. It’s clear they were meant to find each other, and the story reflects that effectively.
Number 2: The client-publicist dynamic adds an extra layer of tension. The forbidden and professional relationship creates conflicts and connection points that are well executed.
Number 3: The age difference adds stability and maturity to the story. Killian is 44 and Tessa is 25, a nineteen-year gap that builds chemistry and depth without relying on clichés or exaggeration.
Number 4: The friend group is well-developed. Their interactions feel real and provide humor, camaraderie, and context that enrich the main storyline.
Number 5: The tropes are used effectively. One of the most notable is “the father of your best friend,” which creates tension and maintains interest without feeling forced.
Number 6: The plot twist around 75-77% of the book is unexpected and shifts the perspective of the story. This twist strengthens the narrative and solidifies my five-star evaluation.

In summary, this book combines a clear plot, well-developed characters, strong relationships, and moments of tension that make it stand out. It releases in a few days, and I had the privilege of reading it as an ARC. Experiencing this advanced copy allowed me to fully appreciate the story.
If you’ve read this review all the way through, thank you. The next review will focus on another book by Corinne, exploring a new family group that I’m excited to dive into.

Narration for this was so good! Absolutely loved Austin Stone & Samantha Brentmoor together!!

I absolutely loved Killian & Tessa!! The perfect Smalltown, age gap, filled with swoon worthy moments, some emotional aspects, and a touch of suspense and a fun little twist!

Killian was top tier and Tessa was just such a lovable FMC. Tessa is in Ember Falls to help a client with a problem with his ranch. Little does she know a one night stand leads her right to him. This one had me smiling, and on the edge of my seat at the same time!

Corinne Michaels definitely delivered a fun ride with this story & I highly recommend!!

Age gap, right person wrong time, strangers to lovers, can’t have each other; seriously everything Corinne put in this book was like she infused crack into it! There was no way I wasn’t going to be addicted and there was no stopping my obsession within the first few chapters.

I couldn’t get enough of this book and the only reason it took me longer to read it because I had a LOVE/HATE struggle with the idea that this. Was. The. End. Of Ember Falls 🥺 that push and pull to read and consume but also slow down and savor - legit real problems!

Killian and Tessa are just amazing. I would have to say that they almost took my number one spot in this series. Cuz lord have mercy that age gap was ON POINT! Especially with as big as it was! It’s a hard trope to write with that big of one, but Corinne took it to races and never looked back. There was no ick and that too young/too old distance. Did Tessa give Killian crap?? Oh you KNOW it. And did the rest of the Disc Jockey rub it in the wound of his age? oh hell ya! But we wouldn’t have expected anything less.

Austin Stone and Samantha Brentmoor brought these two to life, as well as had to balance 3 other couples AND Hazel’s cameos. I would think coming at the end of a series, doing the narration for a final book would have a whole other level of hardship to contend with. Every couple up to that point has a certain voice in the readers heads, especially from the other narrators before them. So to be at the end you have to balance not only the way they see and feel the characters, but also the narrators who came before. They did an amazing job at with this book. A job that I think is already exceptionally harder from the start.

I can’t say enough love I have for Ember Falls and if I could convince everyone to read this series I will! Corinne I love and hate you giving us this. Love cuz these characters will stick with me forever and hate cuz well Ember Falls is over and no one wants something they love to be over…. Even though we all know it can’t last forever and ever.

Read the series, fall in love. Laugh, cry, feel the struggles, and most of all fall in love. Because each couple has their own unique story and Killian and Tessa give you one hell of an ending to this series. Take your betting wins and get ready to hold onto the reign cuz Ember Falls has one for story left in it for us all and she did NOT come empty handed.

Come What May by Corrine Michaels eARC Review

What a perfect ending to the Ember Falls Series. I read it in basically one sitting and absolutely didn’t want to put it down. The added suspense was completely unexpected but it added so much to the story.

A one night stand that turns into so much more. When Killian and Tessa learn who each other really are, it complicates things instantly. They can’t fight their connection and the forbidden aspect is just so good.

I adore Killian and Tessa. The two of them are put through it that’s for sure, but it just made it that much sweeter when they get their happily ever after.

I also loved seeing the ultimate frisbee gang again and their group chats are seriously my favorite!

What to expect:
Small town
Publicist x client
Best friend’s dad
Horse rancher
Age gap
Forced proximity

Thank you so much Corrine for the arc!

::sigh:: Move over Miles, there is a new fave in town and his name is Killian. This man is everything I could possibly want in a book boyfriend and more. Him and Tessa together was PERFECTION and I loved every single second of this book.

What you'll get:
- Small town
- One night stand plus more
- Age gap
- A wee bit of suspense
- A fab plot twist

Killian was well worth the wait and the surprise guests in this book were top tier. Bravo, my friend, you've outdone yourself.

Come What May by Corinne Michaels absolutely delivered as a satisfying, emotional finale to an already beloved series. Narrated in duet by Samantha Brentmoor and Austin Stone—who were both phenomenal—this audio felt immersive, engaging, and perfectly cast, with each narrator fully embodying Tessa and Killian’s voices and emotional beats. I loved checking back in with the friend group and seeing everyone come full circle, and Killian and Tessa were such a compelling match. Even though I’m definitely closer to Killian’s age than Tessa’s 😅, I found her incredibly relatable and easy to root for. The tension between them, the way neither could fight their attraction, and watching them finally give in and realize they were meant to be made this such a swoony, heartfelt listen, with just the right touch of suspense woven in. A strong, emotional conclusion that reminded me why I loved this series so much.

Tropes:
🤠 Small town
🔥 One night stand
⏳ Age gap
🚨 Dash of suspense
🐎 Cowboy / rancher

Tessa is sent to Ember Falls to support one of her company’s clients, determined to prove herself and succeed. On her very first night, she meets a man at a bar and shares an unforgettable one-night stand, only to discover the next day that he’s the exact client she’s been assigned to help. Wanting to protect her career, Tessa insists on keeping things strictly professional, but that becomes increasingly difficult when she’s staying in Killian’s guest room and working closely with him every day.

Despite a few obstacles that threaten to pull them apart, their connection is undeniable and they’re perfectly matched. Samantha Brentmoor and Austin Stone were incredible together, bringing Tessa and Killian’s sweet yet passionate relationship to life flawlessly. This was a fantastic addition to the Ember Falls series, and if you’ve loved the series so far, you’ll absolutely love this one too.

Thank you, Corinne Michaels for the ALC.

What an ending to a series! I am so sad to say goodbye to Ember Falls but it was an amazing way to go out! Killian's character has always seemed so mysterious to me throughout the first three books and I was thrilled to finally read his story. Tessa was the perfect match for him.

The suspense of what was happening at Killian's farm, bringing Tessa to Ember Falls. The love story that started as one night as strangers that quickly grew into a forbidden more. The Disc Jocks and their loves, truly it was like visiting old friends with their apperances in the story. Book four was everything!

Corinne - each book I read of yours, I close the last page continually amazed by your writing! I cannot wait for the next series.

Thank you, Corinne Michaels, for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

ARC READ ❤️
A huge thank you to Corrine and team for the ARC!

What to expect:
❤️ Publicist & Client
❤️ Age Gap
❤️ Small Town Charm
❤️ Best Friend’s Dad
❤️ Forced Proximity
❤️ Horse Rancher

Tessa heads to Ember Falls to manage a PR crisis but what’s a quick stop at the bar the night before work? She meets a gorgeous man and sows her wild oats. The next morning she discovers the man from the bar is actually her client; Killian. 😳

The age gap is delicious, the tension is chef’s kiss and watching Tessa and Killian navigate their relationship while keeping Killian’s farm afloat is such a treat. It’s small town, it’s cute and has all the right vibes for a romance novel.

ARC Review - 4.5 ⭐️ rounded up to 5.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved Killian and Tessa's story. Tessa comes to Ember Falls to help Killian with a PR issue. However the night before they officially meet, They meet at a bar and have a one night stand. Once Tessa finds how who exactly she slept with she cuts it off. But the tension can't keep them apart forever. I loved the banter and chemistry between these two. I loved seeing Tessa with the rest of the girls. There was plot twist I did not see coming. I can't wait to see what Corrine will write next!

I just loved Killian and Tessa! I love a good one night stand that leads to more. Throw in a little bit forbidden with it being her client and best friend's dad and it sets up the perfect tension. Killian is strong and protective and Tessa is strong and independent. Their banter and chemistry was fantastic.

If you know me, you know that I am a series gal through and through. A good romance series owns my heart. Getting to spend pages and pages of time with my favorite fictional characters will always be my happy place. Getting to be with those characters as they fall in love, as they experience heartache, as they evolve and grow, as they put their hearts on the line again and again, as they just feel everything is the best experience ever for a reader. When you add in a small town that is charming and incredible and honestly just magical, that is truly just the cherry on top. When you also add in incredible love stories that steal every single piece of your heart that makes it even better.

That is what the Ember Falls Series by Corinne Michaels has been for me. That is what each and every one of these books and love stories has been for me. When I tell you that these characters have borrowed themselves so deep in my heart, I mean that with my whole chest. I have loved this world, I have loved the journeys I’ve gone on with these characters, and I have eagerly been anticipating a story for Killian. And sitting here writing this review, having just fallen absolutely in love with his and Tessa‘s love story, it’s suffice to say that those two stole the last few pieces of my heart and borrowed themselves just as deep as the characters and love stories that came before them. And it’s the best feeling on the planet. End of.

Simply put, I could not have loved Come What May by Corinne Michaels more.

This was the perfect end cap to a series that I have loved every second of. It was the perfect conclusion to a story in world of characters that will permanently own a space in my heart. It was the perfect way to reiterate the magic and the love and the charm that blossoms in the town of Ember Falls. But more than that, it was just a perfect and all feeling and authentic love story for Killian and Tessa, two people who deserved no less. These two gave me it all in this book. They laid their hearts, their connection, and they’re honest and beautiful vulnerability on the pages of this book and it was everything. It was everything and more.

What can I say about this book and how much I loved it? I mean, I loved it in every way possible. I loved the way. This book hits the ground running with these two. I loved the premise of the story, with Tessa and Killian unknowingly sharing the most memorable night of their lives before realizing that she’s his new publicist, and that they now have to work together. Throw in an age gap, some forced proximity goodness, and a slow realization that Killian is her best friend‘s dad… And you have them makings of a romance that will own every part of you.

But honestly, this book was so much more than all of that. It was a book about two people connecting in a way they didn’t even think was possible. It was about two people really seeing each other, seeing the pieces that made them them, seeing the pieces they so often hid from the world because sharing those pieces meant showing trust, and that didn’t come easy for them. It was a story of two people finding everything in one another, even though they weren’t supposed to work on paper. Even though they weren’t supposed to be together. It was a story of two people realizing that all of the pieces that they felt were missing could be found right in that other person. And those pieces not only completed the pieces of themselves, it made them feel whole. It made them feel chosen. It made them feel seen and understood. This was a story of two people showing up, choosing each other, and fighting for what could be, even when it was really damn hard and scary and full of all the emotion.

Come What May is Killian and Tessa’s unforgettably beautiful story of finding the exact right person their heart needed at the exact wrong time that ends up being the most perfect time for what may come.

If you can’t tell by now, I absolutely loved this book. I loved the fire and the connection of this couple. I loved what they made each other feel and think, and just embrace. I loved that they immediately saw each other, believed in each other, and honestly just understood each other. I loved that they wanted the best for one another, even if that meant they couldn’t be together. I loved that no matter what they never stopped fighting for each other and they never doubted one another or their intentions. I loved that there was no fighting the inevitable in this book for this couple and that there was no denying the level of heart and connection they shared.

I loved them. Simply put, I loved them, and I loved what they built and shared in this book because it was honest, it was so true, and it was so them. It was built in the small moments, in the glances, in the touches that felt like everything, in the words said with so much heart and meaning behind them, and in the quiet moments they shared together. It was them through and through and getting to watch them build that love through the moments they shared, whether they were big or small, was absolutely everything. Everything and more.

Tessa and Killian were honestly just the best. I loved that they discovered so much about themselves while falling so hard for one another. I also just loved that they could be their truth selves that not many people got to see, when they were around each other. They shared truths about themselves that were so real and so honest. They saw the real them and they loved each other for it. They fought for each other and those true selves. They saw each other‘s hearts and they couldn’t help but feel everything for one another. Getting to be in the thick of it with them as they tried to make sense of all of those feelings they shared, as they put the pieces of the past, present and future together, and as they waded through all of that connection they couldn’t help but feel towards one another was the actual best. It just put me in the heart of this story, believing in these two with all that I had, cherishing the moments they shared and the authenticity that blossomed between them.

I also just have to say that I found their two characters to be incredibly endearing and just so easy to love. She is a young publicist, trying to find her place in the world. She’s headstrong, she’s determined, and she has been through it, but she is pushing through to that other side. She also is beyond dedicated to what she does and feels just about everything, even when it scares her shitless. He is a man who has worked tirelessly to establish himself. He has gone through many phases and companies, and he is finally finding his true happiness and his home. He is protective, he is compassionate, and he is very very real and sexy as hell. When these two and their worlds are brought together, they realize that they might just have found that person they can be their true self with. And that person might just be the home that they’ve both been desperately craving.

Come What May by Corinne Michaels is a truly incredible love story that weaves together a love story built on such connection and heart. It is a story of two people who aren’t supposed to work, who aren’t supposed to be, yet can’t help but defy everything to find their way to one another because there is no world in which they won’t share everything together. This is a love story that weaves equal parts small town magic, with some good old fashioned suspense, a ton of heart and emotion and connection, and the most incredible cast of characters you will ever find.

Simply put, this book is one of my favorites I have read and brings this entire series to the most fitting and perfect conclusion that my heart needed.

Corinne Michaels once again puts you in the heart of a small town and a world of characters that you can’t help out love. I have been lucky enough to experience that in every book and series I’ve read by her, and this one was no different. I love her books for so many reasons. I love the emotion and the connection I feel to her characters. I love that I just can immediately feel the goodness of her characters from the moment I meet them. I love that there are so many layers and pieces to each of her characters and their stories that beautifully unfolds through her writing and her storytelling and how she lets it all come to be. Getting to experience that as a romance reader and a lover of love stories is something I don’t take lightly.

When I sit down to read a book by her, I know I’m about to read my next favorite book and she has never let me down once. I felt just such immense love for Killian and Tessa and their whole story reading this book, but I was also reminded through every page how much I’ve loved every couple of this series. How much I’ve loved every second in this incredible small town that just feels so real and so special to me. How much I’ve loved and lived and experienced with all of her characters over the 10+ years of falling in love with them. Getting to see glimpses and connections with them all, getting new experiences with new characters, and just getting to be in the epic and incredible and beautiful love stories that this author creates is truly everything. EVERYTHING. I cannot say that enough, and I honestly cannot thank this author enough for continuing to create love stories and characters and worlds like this one.

Her characters and the world, and the moments they share together are some of my all-time favorites and truly have burrowed themselves permanently into my heart. They’ve made me feel everything. They’ve made me laugh, they’ve made me cry, they’ve stolen my breath at times, they’ve melted me into a puddle of goo on the floor, and I’ve experienced just about every emotion in between with them. I’ve fallen in love with these characters as they’ve fallen in love with each other. I’ve shown up with them as they’ve shown up for each other, as they’ve created found families, families born out of tragedy and heartache, families built on the best of friendships, and shared connections of crazy sports games. I’ve been with them through it all, and my heart could not be more in love with what this author has created for them all. She continues to create books and love stories and small towns and characters that are genuine, that are true, and that give me everything and more as a lover of love stories and romance books. Her books, her characters, her stories, and the way she so thoughtfully weaves and creates them all make for unforgettable books and reading experiences. They are my happy place and they always will be, and to find an author who brings out all of that and more is something I don’t take for granted. At all.

Killian & Tessa’s story in Come What May wraps up our time in Ember Falls in a way that will just have you remembering again and again what made you love this small town in the first place. It is filled to the brim and bursting with the best characters, who have such good hearts, a lot of humor and banter, but who also unequivocally love one another and show up when it really matters. The family and friendship they create together is unyielding, and it has been incredible to watch that unfold over these four books. That coupled with the pieces of all of the other incredible books, this author has woven together into this world makes for a hell of a journey with these characters. It makes it a journey that feels so fulfilling, a journey that is emotional and beautiful and full of so much love, but most of all it just makes it one of the best reading experiences I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

Plus ending a series with a sexy older man who rocks a cowboy hat, owns his own farm, and would do anything for the woman he loves… It truly just the best. Plus when that girl is effervescent and as dedicated and hard-working as Tessa is, who feels just as much for that older man as he does her… It doesn’t get better than that. Trust me.

This book is a must read. It is an incredible romance from start to finish, it is exceptionally written and crafted, but more than that it is just a damn good story. It will consume you, it will leave your heart on the pages of this book with this couple, and you will love it. You will love how you are brought into the thick of it and into the heart of it with Tessa and Killian, as they feel everything for one another, and as they experience something neither of them were prepared for: love. You will love watching the suspense unfold in this book, you will love all of the incredible characters of this small town in series, but more than that you will just love getting to see this couple show up and fight for each other and the ending they so deserve in this book.

Reading and experiencing all of that unfold in the pages of this book is more than everything. It’s just more in the best way, and it will leave your heart abundantly full and bursting with love for this couple, what they share, and every moment you get with them along the way.

Killian & Tessa’s story in Come What May is beautiful, unforgettable, consuming on every level, spicy, and just them through and through. But more than that, it is a story of two people taking a chance and seeing what comes of it, consequences be damned, because nothing could keep them or their hearts apart… and honestly, all of that is just a fraction of why you need to read this book this very second.

Incredible age gap love story between Tessa and Killian! I absolutely loved Come What May by Corinne Michaels; it is a small-town age gap/forced proximity/publicist-client love story. It is the fourth and final book in her Ember Falls series and such a bittersweet book for me since I had to say goodbye to the Disc Jocks. Corinne Michaels shows that she is an amazing storyteller, and she is a one click, must read author for me. Come What May had me hooked from the first few pages, it was impossible to put down, it filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, and I loved every moment on every page. It is one of my favorite books that I have read recently, it held my interest from the start, and I fell in love. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? Come What May is a forced proximity love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. Come What May is the story of Tessa Rivers, junior publicist at Anchor Light Corporate and her client Killian Thorn, real estate mogul and owner of Ivy Thorn Farms, which boards, trains, and breeds racehorses. After her co-worker, Aarabelle Dempsey was injured in an accident in New York, Tessa is assigned to help manage the fallout from the disappearance of Killian’s horse trainer, Travis Brown. On her first day in Ember Falls, Tessa heads to a local bar for something to eat. Killian sits beside her and then Tessa ends up following Killian home and spending the night. The following morning, Tessa’s boss calls while Tessa is still at Killian's house with the name of the client. To Tessa's surprise her boss reveals Killian Thorn as the name of her client, love how GPS reveals that she is already at the client location. There is a clause in Tessa’s employment contract prohibiting a relationship between a publicist and client. Killian offers Tessa a place to stay, because of the condition of the apartment she was renting. Initially, Tessa tries to avoid Killian and her feelings for him. As Tessa and Killian spend time together trying to locate Travis, working on creating events for a quick cash influx, to save the horse farm, and living together things change between them, and neither one of them is willing to admit their true feelings for one another. I really enjoy the events that Tessa plans for the horse farm and Killian’s reaction. I love the sizzling chemistry between Tessa and Killian and the conversations between them flow so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, and Killian constantly flirting with Tessa. A favorite part are Tessa and Killian’s horseback rides, Tessa watching the Disc Jocks, how Killian shows her how to play, and all the things they do together. Another favorite part are the heart-to-heart conversations between Tessa and Killian about Tessa’s upbringing and Killian’s past relationship and the daughter that he just learned about. I loved that Come What May is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Tessa and Killian are facing that need to be resolved, and the surprise plot twist that threatens Tessa and Killian’s relationship, and then another plot after the first one is resolved that again threatens their relationship and Killian’s freedom. I love how all the storylines get so beautifully resolved. I love the ending of the love story; it is the perfect ending, especially since they finally admitted their feelings for each other. Really enjoyed the horse races and how Killian proposes at the Kentucky Derby and the ring that he picked for Tessa. So glad that Killian has a relationship with his daughter. I love how both Tessa and Killian change because of their love for one another, everything that Tessa and Killian are willing to do to have a life with each other in Ember Falls, and everything that Killian does for Tessa, especially the Hope + Main Foundation that he creates for her. My favorite part is the epilogue that takes place seventeen months later and how it goes beyond a happily ever after with dreams coming true. Another favorite part is the bonus scene that is available to read online, I loved the bonus scene that takes place two years after the book and that it is told from both Tessa’s perspective, it was a wonderful finale to the series. I love all the descriptions of the Ember Falls setting. Come What May is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, Corinne Michaels did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments, the plot twists and surprises that filled this page turner. I really enjoy how the book is written in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. I love all the characters and the family dynamic in Come What May the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Disc Jocks teammates and the family dynamic; it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I especially love the text stream between the players. I love Tessa's friendships with Ainsley, Hazel, Penny, and Violet. It was a wonderful farewell to the Ember Falls series. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Come What May, who does not love a small-town age gap/forced proximity love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story. Received an advanced copy from the author.

Oh, Killian. You are the ultimate Daddy! That's it. That's the review!

Kidding aside, though, it's the end of an era for this series, and I think I'm not ready to say goodbye to Ember Falls. Corinne has saved the best for last with this book, and it is as superb as it is epic and bittersweet.

Come What May is the fourth and final book in the Ember Falls series that delves into themes of trust, love, and brotherhood.
It follows the story of Killian Thorn and Tessa Rivers as they collaborate to unravel the mystery of the Ivy Thorn Ranch scandal and save it, all the while navigating their undeniable chemistry and immediate connection.

Rather than relying on relentless tension, Come What May moves with levity and heartfelt moments courtesy of Killian and Tessa. The mystery surrounding the ranch's scandal unfolds leisurely, allowing humor and romance to take center stage - thanks to the hilarious banters courtesy of Lachlan, Miles, Everett, and the rest of the crew. When the truth is finally revealed, it feels less like a shocking twist and more like the graceful completion of a puzzle.

Elegant, clever, and effortlessly charming, Come What May is Corinne Michaels at her most refined—a story where danger lurks behind the people you've trusted the most, a reminder that love is a calculated risk, and the sanctity of loyalty and real connections.

If the Ember Falls Series taught us anything, it is to make us aware that Ultimate Frisbee is a sport, that it’s a very serious league, and that the Disc Jocks are elite athletes. (And I'm writing this, trying to hold on to my straight face, like Everett.)
Ahem! What I meant to say was that Ember Falls itself becomes a character in this series and not just a place for these four men to find their HEA. The iconic waterfall that is believed to be magical, Marge's famous restaurant for epic dates, and Hazel with her Prose & Perk coffee shop. Truthfully, my bags are packed and ready to move into this wonderful small town.
These men will undoubtedly be missed, but because Corinne is also the queen of crossovers, I'm sure I'll see them again as cameos in some future novels of hers.

Receiving a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book was an honour, and I'm presenting my candid opinion based on my own experience. I am eternally grateful to Corinne Michaels and her Team for entrusting me with reading this book beforehand.

"It was orange my entire life, but as I've stared into his green eyes over the last three or so weeks, I've found a new color I adore."

Never gets old a felicidade que eu sinto a voltar a ler Corinne Michaels e chegar ao quarto livro de Ember Falls é qualquer coisa. Long story short: adorei.

Also, toda a questão do Killian e da Meredith?

Obrigada.

Come What May was a fantastic, sweet and steamy ending to the Ember Falls series. Killian, the last of the Disc Jocks, finds his HEA with a forbidden twist. I loved Killian and Tess together from the moment they met, a bar side meet cute that had unforeseen consequences for them both. Tessa is sent to Ember Falls to manage a PR crisis for an important client. When she arrives in town, she decides to grab dinner at the local bar and grill and meets an irresistible man at the bar. Deciding to throw caution to the wind for once in her life, she goes home with him but in the light of day, she learns he is also her new client. I loved that they thought they could go back to keeping things professional. The attraction between them is just too strong. But when things go from bad to worse at the ranch, Tessa is just the person Killian needs in his corner. This forbidden, workplace, age gap, opposites attract romance has a cinnamon roll hero, a heroine who can get the job done, and a horse ranch in peril with a touch of suspense.

I adored how Tessa pushed Killian to get out of his comfort zone to save his ranch. What she lacks in experience, she makes up for in dedication, creativity, and gumption. And even though she had some personal confidence issues, they didn’t bleed into her professional role. This helped me ignore the age gap for the most part. Killian was a total cinnamon roll - he was super sweet and thoughtful and willing to protect Tessa from anything. I simply adored them both. This story takes many twists and turns along the way and these two have to work hard for their HEA, but it’s so worth it. I laughed, swooned, and wanted to hug the characters. I really adored how the amazing found family that Killian had in Ember Falls and beyond came to his side when he needed them most and I did not see certain elements of the ending coming which is always a plus in my book. This has been such a fun series, and I’m sad to leave these guys behind, but I’m excited to see what is next.

What a fantastic end to a series and perhaps the best one yet!! It only is this a love story, but it’s a story with so many twats and turns you’ll understand the reason for the title!

Tessa is new to Ember Falls on a job assignment as a publicist. It’s a bug assignment and she’s ready to prove her worth to move up in the company. A chance meeting with a hit stranger in a bar? What more could she want? She’s always been very hard working and if used on her responsibilities when she meets Killian, she’s ready to throw all caution to the wind. Killian is trying to escape from the crises occurring in his life. He too has been nose to the ground never getting invited over. When he meets Tessa, he’s ready to break all his rules.

These two fund more than they bargained for in more ways than one. They soon discover, Killian is the reason Tessa was sent to Ember Falls in the first place as his new publicist. These two decide to keep things professional, but soon discover their attraction is unavoidable. As they try to navigate their feelings, they discover ways to get Killian out if the current mess he’s landed himself in.

This story had so many twists and turns. There is the powerfully connection between Tessa and Killian that they’re endlessly trying to fight, all while trying to figure out why Killian’s business and profits are plummeting. They seek help from one of my all time favorites to investigate. Just when you think things are figured out, Corinne throws a curveball.

The dynamics of this story were amazing with a but of mystery and surprise! What I also appreciate about Corinne’s stories is how she folds the characters on from other books and brings an element of community. Let’s not forget, this is Ember Falls, home of the Disc Jocks and Ultimate Frisbee! I loved Killian and Tessa navigating the many obstacles they faced… trust me, there were a lot! Corinne always finds a way to intertwine a beautiful love story with the magic of small town and friendship!

𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄:
Come What May, the final book in Corinne Michaels' Ember Falls series, exceeded expectations. Killian and Tessa's story is a standout in small town romance, with an instant and electric chemistry that crackles with tension. Their one-night stand turns into a complicated relationship with forbidden elements, including a client-publicist dynamic, a 19-year age gap, and Killian being Tessa's best friend's father.

Corinne skillfully weaves these tropes together, creating a seamless and natural progression to their love story. The tension between them is palpable, making it hard for them to stay professional. When Killian offers Tessa a place to stay on his ranch, their proximity sparks a beautiful friendship and something more.

The supporting cast adds humor and warmth, making you feel like part of the Ember Falls community. The twists at the end add depth and shift your perspective on the story, making it a truly memorable read.

Austin Stone and Samantha Brentmoor's narration brings the characters to life, with unique voices for each. A truly immersive experience.

If you love small town romances with complex relationships and a strong sense of community, Come What May is a must-read. The Ember Falls series is a treasure – don't miss it! Corinne Michaels wraps up the series with a beautiful, emotional conclusion that will leave you feeling satisfied and a little sad to say goodbye to these characters.

Corinne just wrote a MASTERPIECE! This book gave me all the feels. Yes there will be drama but Killian will have you swooning so much that it's worth everything we have to go through. I read this book so fast. Usually when I get books over 300 pages it take 3-4 days sometimes but this one I read in a day and a half. I couldn't put it down! I love Ember Falls and everyone there. Corinne makes you want to walk into the book and into this town so you can be friends with these characters.

Killian owns a horse farm in Ember Creek and just lost the guy that takes care of the horses. So he has a PR nightmare on his hand now that he just up and disappeared. When he goes out to the bar he ends up sitting next to a beautiful woman and next thing you know they hook up. What they don't know is she's his new publicist and things are about to get interesting!

Tessa thought she was just going to come to Ember Falls fix this PR Nightmare and get back to New York but life doesn't always go as planned. Now she can't resist her older, rugged, green eyed cowboy. She wants to do everything she can to help save his business for business purposes but also because she believes in this man. When she tells her best friend all about this situation she's her biggest cheerleader. The only problem is they don't realize their talking about her biological father she just met a few months ago. Oh how life can get complicated.

This was a roller coaster ride that will have you laughing, smiling like crazy, getting emotional, swooning HARD, and make you fall in LOVE with two people that were destined for each other. We also get our favorite characters popping up throughout the book and that's always a joy to see. I had such a great time reading this book and series! I HIGHLY recommend this book!

Thank you Corinne Michaels for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.

What a bittersweet ending to the Ember Falls series! On the one hand, I have (not so) patiently been waiting for Killian's story since he was first introduced in book 1, but now that I've read it, I'm sad that we're at the end!

I love the age gap, forbidden romance trope, and I very much enjoyed how Corinne laid this one out with Tessa and Killian meeting and having an amazing night of passion before they figure out that he's actually her client.

The chemistry between Tessa and Killian was undeniable, the attraction immediate, but this isn't an insta-love story, which I really loved. Watching the slow burn romance develop between them was torture in the best of ways. All the while Tessa is trying to find ways to salvage Killian's ranch, there is the underlying mystery of: why did his horse trainer disappear, and why is he losing so many sales of horses? And not only is Tessa there for Killian to try and solve this mystery and get his ranch back on track, but she also becomes his emotional support, standing by him in every way.

It was so fun seeing all of the gang again and getting momentary reprieves of comedy watching the Disc Jocks practice and the razzing that they do to each other. And I can't forget their better halves, the amazing women who anchor these men. I loved getting to know Meredith, Tessa's best friend, and her husband Jake, who were such a source of strength and comfort to Tessa.

I finished this story with a huge smile on my face but am a tad disappointed that one major plot point seemed to just disappear without any resolution. With how much it had affected Tessa's entire life, I was confused when it was just never mentioned again.

Overall, I very much enjoyed Tessa and Killian's story, especially the bonus scene!

After finishing Come What May by Corinne Michaels, I’m officially in my Ember Falls hangover era. This series is something so special, and I am so sad to see it end, but what a story to end it on!

Killian is the last of the Disc Jocks and the rugged, soft-hearted cowboy I didn’t know I needed. When a PR nightmare hits his horse ranch, the last thing he expects is to meet a gorgeous woman at the bar… only to wake up and realize she’s his new publicist. Enter Tessa: smart, capable, slightly out of her depth in small-town life, but determined to fix the mess and prove herself - even when working with Killian becomes very complicated, very fast.

What starts as a one-night, throw-caution-to-the-wind decision turns into a forbidden workplace romance packed with insane chemistry, emotional depth, and so much heart. Killian is a total cinnamon roll - protective, thoughtful, and quietly devoted - while Tessa pushes him out of his comfort zone and fights for his ranch like it’s her own. I loved watching them navigate the age gap, the professional boundaries they pretend to keep, and the very real feelings neither of them can ignore.

This story has the added element of suspense and surprise. I love the unexpected twists - and going in, you know there is the best friend's dad trope but the way it appears is fantastic. The element of Killian's ranch in peril and the mystery of why kept me guessing at every turn. I love the way this is woven into their romance. Chef's kiss.

Add in found family, small-town charm, and cameos from familiar faces - I was completely hooked. I laughed, swooned, got emotional, and flew through this book because I could not put it down. Such a sweet, steamy, and satisfying ending to this series - I already miss these characters so much, but I can't wait to see what Corinne gives us next!

What a way to end in Ember Falls! ❤️❤️

Killian phew! So HoT! Age gap say less sign me up!

Killian and Tessa were everything we needed in Ember falls. What started as a one night stand ended up as so much more and was perfection! 🙌🏻 Tessa came to this small town, to help someone get out of a rut and not let there business go under, however after one night at the bar ended up with her sleeping with her client. Whoops… that wasn’t supposed to happen.. but it did and boy oh boy it was HOT! Tessa ends up staying with Killian at his place while they work through his mess… which by the way was insane and the suspense that was done with it was done so well! 👏🏻 Killian had no clue what his trainer was doing behind his back while bringing the business of training horses, breeding and racing them. He was losing customers left and right. Tessa did such an amazing job helping him get to the bottom of things.

There was some crazy twist that happened along the way! I had my suspicions for the one and I was right , but the other twist I didn’t see coming and my mouth was on the ground! So crazy what Killian had to go through.

I loved the friend group with all the guys especially in frisbee gang! When all these guys are together you really see what kind of friendships there are.

Tessa and Killian shared some incredible chemistry and you could see it. They came into each others life’s unexpectedly but it all worked out because they truly were meant to be ❤️❤️❤️

ARC Review

Come What May by Corinne Michaels is the fourth book in the Ember Falls series, and this installment focuses on Killian Thorn and Tessa Rivers.

Killian is facing serious issues with his ranch and needs help from his publisher. Anchor Light sends Tessa Rivers to assist him. When Tessa arrives in town, she meets a man during a night out, and they share an unforgettable night together. The next day, they realize the awkward truth: he’s the client, and she’s the publicist. Despite this unexpected beginning, they decide to work together professionally. The attraction between them is impossible to ignore, and as Tessa proves just how good she is at her job, their connection deepens. As feelings grow stronger, they’re forced to face the question of whether their relationship can survive the complications surrounding them.

This is a classic small-town romance filled with ranch life, cowboys, fun friendships, and plenty of spice. The story has wonderful depth, balancing strong emotions with light, entertaining moments. Both Killian and Tessa have intense backstories that bring them closer and make their bond feel genuine. Their love story is a mix of difficult moments and playful ones, which makes it realistic and easy to fall in love with. They’re both incredibly likable characters.

My favorite moments were the game with the other guys and Killian and Tessa’s first real date.

If you’re looking for a spicy small-town romance with heart, Come What May is exactly what you need. 💛📚

Come what may is book 4 & the final book in the Ember falls series, it can be read as a complete standalone but this series is truly beautiful, I thoroughly recommend reading them all.

I loved this entire book, start to finish.
There wasn't a moment where | felt disconnected or bored. Every chapter pulled me in more & more, I didn’t want it to end

This book had all the feels and plenty of hot, hot action. This is Corinne Michaels at her absolute best yet again.

I don't know what magic Corinne sprinkles on her pages but whatever it is, it hooks you right in from page one. It’s one of those stories that quietly gets under your skin.

I'm just going to say this, if Corinne writes it, I'm going to devour it. For me, she is the Queen of small town romance, she always captures my heart with her beautiful characters.

Come what may is a beautiful addition to the series. I loved being back in the Ember falls world. It can be read as a complete standalone but I simply love the interconnected connection between friends who are more like family than friends. The way they interact (don’t forget that they are ‘ultimate athletes’ with their ultimate frisbee competitions)
They constantly bully & tease one another, it’s their love language but these friends & their partners consistently show up for each other throughout the whole series is truly amazing so I recommend reading the whole series.

- best friend's dad
- age gap
- publicist X client
- rancher
- temporary roommates

I loved book & this whole series so much. It’s bittersweet saying goodbye to characters that you have taken to your heart but I’m so excited to head to Colorado & devour what Corinne has in store for us readers

✨ARC REVIEW✨ 5⭐️ Hands down my favorite in this series! Tessa is out to prove that she is very successful at her job. She ends up in Ember Falls to help a client turn things around. After meeting a man in a bar, and having a one night stand, shes ready to hit the ground running with the new client. What she didn’t expect…that client is none other than Killian Thorn…the man she just spent the most incredible night of her life with. When she didn’t know he was a client it was one thing but now that she knows, she can’t cross that line again. Easier said than done though when the sexy, distinguished rancher has her staying in one of his guest rooms. It. Ay be against the rules but she’s never felt this way before so her friend convinces her to go for it…what happens though when she discovers that very friend is the daughter of the man she’s sleeping with?

Oh my goodness Killian is everything I wanted and SO MUCH MORE! Regardless of things being casual, the way he took care of Tessa and showed her exactly how she should be treated made my heart melt. I just couldn’t help but fall for both of them and their entire love story. This story kept me hooked the entire time. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what truths they all could uncover. Let’s just I did not see the story going that way and I LOVED IT. Ember Falls has been such an incredible series and I’m so sad to leave it behind but I couldn’t imagine a better story to end it!! Definitely a MUST read!

Corrine has made me fall in love with so many characters over the years and she keeps doing it with every book. This story was one I couldn't wait to read. I love an age gap romance. The best friend's dad trope is definitely one that I haven't read a lot of, but I am for it.

Killian and Tessa are such a great match. There is just something about these two together that makes sense. Tessa has a softness to her that smoothes out Killian's sharpness. I thought that even with the attraction, these two have this connection that is just there from the instant they meet.
Tessa is working to prove herself and is very driven, I loved that about her. Killian is trying to figure out what is going on with his ranch. These two together make a great team and I love the way they work together get the answers they need.

The audio of this one was really good. Austin Stone and Samantha Brentmoor narrate this in duet and it is a great listen. I loved the way these narrators brought this book to life. Samantha is a favorite of mine and I love her voice. She just has a softness to her tone that is really amazing to listen to. This is my favorite listen of Austin, he brought the gruffness for the character to life. I really liked him as Killian.

This story is one of my favorites. I love a small town romance and Corinne is one of the best at writing the stories that grab a hold of you. I am so sad this series is ending. I am not ready to leave this world.
