Can love and duty coexist in a world on the brink of disaster? Guess there’s only one way to know for sure…
Xander Belov would love to take a little time away from his field work hunting terrorists with the D.I.A. to train his new K9, Radar, in peace. Too bad that’s not an option. Because now, he must find a way to stop a crime family from plunging the world into darkness—all while coming to terms with his attraction to a beautiful engineer who might be in league with the enemy…
Dr. Elyssa Landers wants to end world hunger. But when her uncle’s treasonous activities land her in the middle of a deadly global conspiracy, she’ll have to do way more to protect humanity. And if that means working with an entirely too handsome DIA operative and turning on her own family, so be it…
The mission is simple: Stop the doomsday clock, save the world. But how do they save everyone without risking each other?

I've read all of Ms. Quinn's books and always mark my calendar when a new release is announced. (Thank you, also for using Kindle Unlimited) This was a very exciting, super educational, and flat horrifying book. Having read the previous books in the series is recommended to understand the characters and action. The psychology of revenge and explanation that revenge is an additive process brought so much understanding to me. The implications of a technology to cause widespread communication and electrical outages as terrorism are frightening. As I was reading, I thought, "I hope would be terrorists don't read this book!" I used to think this reading Tom Clancy novels. Ms. Quinn does one better than Clancy, by also educating about developing technologies that will create a better future for the world. The romance is also an area where Ms Quinn models correct male understanding and behavior toward females in a world where it is not always safe for females, though males need saving sometimes, too. These are books that I will reread.
I’m so conflicted on rating this book. Yes, it’s a book of fiction. I enjoyed the thriller elements of this book and of course the dog. But the parts about Fairbanks, Alaska and the Iditarod made me crazy. Could I get behind a fictional small Alaska town where an Iditarod team was housed yes I could. Could I imagine the Iditarod starting in Fairbanks no not really (although it really did happen in 2025). My brain kept shouting at the book “the Iditarod starts in Willow”, “there are no luxury accommodations in Fairbanks”, and lastly “a direct flight to DC from Fairbanks in the winter, I don’t think so”. So while it’s an engrossing work a fiction that had me suspending my disbelief for most of the book, and I really contemplating giving five stars…I just couldn’t. I do highly recommend the book!
Radar took me by surprise. It's more of a thriller that's heavy on intrigue and suspense with a liitle romance thrown in. Fiona Quinn jam packed the the first five chapters with so much information it was a bit mind boggling and I almost wanted a scorecard. But, all that information makes sense as you read the remainder of the book. She also draws on recent real world events and weaves them throughout the story. Xander Belov, DIA Operative and his K9 Radar, are assigned their mission as a team though it's not in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan as he anticipated. Instead, they end up in Fairbanks, Alaska. Meeting Dr. Elyssa Landers was a plus that quickly turned into so much more. She's beautiful, brilliant, funny and possibly part of the evil he's tracking. What ensues is a globetrotting adventure that's fraught with danger, discoveries and shocking revelations. Xander and Radar become Elyssa's protectors and so much more. The climax is stunning and surprising. Ultimately this trio get an the HEA that was always meant to be.
Xander and Elyssa and of course the incomparable Radar. A chance meeting with immediate attraction leads to a potential conflict and then immediate knowledge of a break in a major case. Elyssa is an innocent in the crime, but also holds major knowledge. POTS is also discussed and I was sure it was going to be something the Zoric family did to her, but apparently it was a real health issue she had. Radar was a hero in all scenes, medical, technology, physical attacks..he took it all on!Several Iniquus favorites were present such as White, Reaper, and Anna. The discussion of celebration and family was poignant and the detailed nature of the potential danger and the actions and countermeasures waa fascinating and vividly described. A good read and great addition to this world. The discussion about revenge addition and then what Davidson did was a hoot. I don’t know any of the science for accuracy, but highly entertaining!
Everytime I read a book by Fiona Quinn I know that I am in for an adventure! Her books have it all, adventure, action, intrigue, suspense and romance. You feel pulled into the story and work along side the characters to figure out what will happen next. Can they thwart the bad guys and save their team? I love all her characters, especially the dogs. The dogs each have their own personality and are one of the main characters in her K9 series. Her books can be read as standalones but they do have pieces of previous books sprinkled in. If this is your first Fiona Quinn book, start at the beginning with Weakest Lynx.
Xander has pursued the evil that is the Zoric family for years. His investigation and analysis is forever thwarted and incomplete. The Zorics have been planning revenge since the fall of the Berlin Wall, maybe before. Retribution on the world. When Xander is assigned to follow a new piece of the puzzle, he finds his missing piece. Elyssa. An innocent victim in the Zoric's scheme, she is the missing part to providing the key to stopping it all. Accompanied by the gorgeous and fearless K-9, Radar this is great team. This is a complicated, contemporary and charismatic story.
A great intelligent read. I always learn something when I read a Fiona Quinn book. This author clearly does much in-depth research and it shows in the details she provides in her stories. She always has an intriguing and believable way of incorporating current events and emerging technologies, as well as in this case psychological theories, into her story line. And who doesn't love a dog that's part security dog and part service dog. I've read almost all of Quinn's books in her amazing expansive Iniquus world. Can't wait to read the next one.
When professional connections and responsibilities tangle mafia Family eith blood and chosen family, things get very tricky and sticky.
with the enticing romantic suspense, drama and action are around most corners, often accompanied by some nasty baddies.
Clever K9s make survival more likely , and are fascinating - and lack of finesse when colleagues four legged and two are not involved is insightful, instructive, and sometimes amusing.
Fate brought Xander and Elyssa together and they worked together, loved together and brought peace to an unstable world that the worst of terrorists was planning to destroy. Huge amount of research went into writing this book. The author was relentless in building the story to its pinnacle with everything falling into place as the adrenaline momentum was fuelled and eventually came to an explosive end.
Xandar and Alyssa were both fantastic characters! Radar the K9 was also a great character. Lots of action from the start with suspense and a touch of romance . Love how seamless this author builds from previous books with characters from earlier books and weaves her story. Love it!
I have loved the other books in this series, but really struggled with this one. I just couldn't get into it at first. I stuck with it and halfway or maybe a little further, it did get better and held my interest. I'm glad I didn't give up but really hope the rest of the books are more like the first one.
Stories from this author are always full of action and adventure with a dose of romance and humor.
The story is frighteningly believable, and the main characters are heroic, and endearing. One of the main characters is a dog named Radar who fearless, brave and well trained. Readers will be treated to adventures around the world with lots of action.
Fiona Quinn has created another amazing story filled with action, suspense, danger, betrayal, romance, protective heroes, and a dog that will melt your heart. Will Xander, Elyssa, and Radar survive long enough to figure out the Zoric family's plan for world chaos and stop it? Another true masterpiece by Fiona!!
I have loved every book in the Iniquus and related series. The dialogue, characters and missions draw me in. I end up invested in each book and the couples we are introduced to. Amazing author.
Took me awhile to get into the story line, to put it together but when I read halfway through, it made sense and what a scary thought !! That someone would actually do this…. Great ending !
Xander and Alyssa meet by accident when he is following a bad guy whom she called her uncle. There the adventure begins with travel and running from those who hunt the couple. Good read.
The variety of stories within the story makes this book compelling. The characters are not so numerous as to have the reader question who is who and where do they fit. Also, the story could well be where we’re headed if we don’t stay vigilant.
The Zorics plan to set off a world ending event. The DIA, CIA, FBI, and Mossad are working together to stop it. Xander and Radar meet Elyssa, who agrees to help.
This is one of the best K9 books I’ve read. Radar is super trained as a “war dog” yet he thinks for himself and has personality plus. Love this series.
