The Seventh Man: Inspired by the Biblical story of the Woman at the Well

Rate this book
"The Seventh Man" chronicles Isabelle Marie's tumultuous search for love through five failed marriages—from her teenage romance with Everett that ends after a miscarriage, to Sullivan whose patience can't overcome her trust issues, to impulsive Parker whose financial irresponsibility dooms their Vegas marriage, to wealthy Tom who remains emotionally absent during her miscarriages, to controlling Ricky whose abuse she finally escapes with help from her lifelong friend Levi. Taking refuge with Levi, their friendship evolves into something deeper as Isa begins to heal, though she remains hesitant to commit after so many failures. A chance encounter with a baptism ceremony leads Isa to a spiritual awakening where she finds peace beyond romantic relationships, with both she and Levi undergoing baptism together—but as they stand dripping on the lakeshore, wrapped in towels and newfound faith, Isa can't help but wonder if the greatest love story of her life has been beside her all along, and whether embracing it might finally break the cycle that has defined her existence.

Something I never expected

This book was so real. A feeling I know to well and have seen to often. The desire to be loved and seen in a way only God can, but looking in all the wrong places

Great story inspiration

Absolutely love how the biblical story was inspired. The only reason I couldn’t give a 5 star because some of the characters were confusing…Maya? Friend…then Levi’s sister and then another Maya mentioned who was Everett’s sister soo very confused. Also randomly the name Daniel was thrown in one of the last chapters and I was like “who is Daniel??” Since these characters weren’t like super important it wasn’t a big issue but still caused confusion. Other than that, I love how Isa’s story was told and even in the last chapter it honestly brought tears to my eyes because I had such relief for her when God was finally able to get through to her! I saw alot in her in myself. Such a good book!
