The fourth instalment in the Severed MC series finds Cowboy wrestling with his demons. Can he go on, or is he too broken after everything he's endured?
Meanwhile the citizens of Severed are caught up in a war, and it's down to Severed MC to try and save them.
must say that didnt like this one that much and my fav from all this series is number 3, it had it all or maybe I'm tortured reader and like to cry but it was the best... this one was okay read but ... yeah but...
This was a tough book for me to get into, probably for a few reasons. One, it's been a few months since I read the last one, Severed Justice, so I was having a difficult time really remembering a lot of the details, and two, it felt pretty rushed. This fourth book picks up where the last one left off - after a pretty tough tragedy, and the Severed MC is barely hanging on. Cowboy, particularly, had a really rough go with some of the things that he witnessed and also due to losing a friend. He was really at the end of his rope when this book starts off, and I had a lot of hope that this would be a deep book with a good connection, but I didn't feel that that was delivered.
Cowboy and Lucy, who I did not remember at all, are supposed to have this attraction to one another, yet she never seems to bring up to him that she walked in on him with a gun in his mouth. It's as though it never happened, which seems a little unrealistic. She didn't even ask him about it, and it's not like she tried one time, and he stopped her. It just was like it was Chapter One and then done. This book, as with the others, does switch point of views, which I still appreciate, but, as a whole, this book just seems like it was a filler book to set up another story, and yet, there has to be a tragedy, as well. Even the tragedy did not affect me at all, and with the first three books, I was sobbing.
There is also typically a lot of heat in these books, and Cowboy and Lucy argue, but we have no back story, that I can remember, at any rate, on why Lucy first tries to push him away just because he is bossy. He also seems very drawn to her, but I really can't seem to figure out why. I feel pretty bad that I can't seem to remember the characters, but I also think this could be an area for the authors to beef up their characters, as well as to broaden the book, itself, by adding in back story for those of us that are not reading it back to back and may need the reminders. There are several other series that do this well, and I always find it helpful.
Overall, I still enjoy these authors and the story that they continue to tell about the Severed MC. I really feel for this group and their Old Ladies. They truly can't seem to catch a break, and they aren't really even a bad MC. They all originally came together out of a love for riding, and yet, they continue to get attached, hurt, killed, etc because others around them can't seem to get it together. And...the fun never stops. There is a new enemy in town, and while they have figured out what the plan is, they have not truly stopped it, yet, as I am sure more is to come.
Cowboy is broken, his soul is weary and his burden is already too heavy to bare any more tradegy or loss. He can no longer see his self worth and with Emma serving her justice in the previous novel he feels he had outlived his usefulness.
Lucy is the pivotal person that has the power to break through his despair and open his eyes to how valued he is by his brothers. Cowboy has been appointed her look out by Emma before she left, but he soon realises that his feeling run deeper than just a platonic guardian figure. She fits. She makes him dream of something more.
They battle through the common issues faced by being friends to lovers, he has some real cave man tendencies! Lucy is a sass filled, independent lady that has her own inner strength. She is the perfect partner for Ash as she calms the storm in his heart.
But no love story is ever easy in Severed. The MC has a worrying development - some one has moved in to the area and has started selling drugs, causing people to OD. Declan Donnelly has also recently arrived, looking to bury his past in Severed. He is the new bar owner and lucky Lucy manages to find herself a job there. He is more than meets the eye and he soon embeds himself with our favourite bikers. I hope we see more of him soon.
Carnal and Severed work together as an unknown element plots against them and Death has not yet left them alone. Things get heated and very very bloody...cue the box of tissues! You have been warned. This novel has the right blend of action, drama, tradegy and hope. It's a beautiful blend of emotions and the connection to the characters is a powerful thing. The ending...wow! No spoilers so that really is all I'm saying. I need the next one...now now now, what more has Fate got in store for our MC?
“I’ve never been so grateful to see the end of my shift. I’ve spent far too much of it thinking about Cowboy and what I’d like to do to him. I hadn’t realized I was capable of such impure thoughts. I like it.”
“Cowboy is standing there looking lost. He’s also a little green around the gills truth be told. ‘Go fetch some towels and hot water.’ I request. I’ve no idea if we’ll need them or not, but it’s what they always say in the movies.”
My Review:
Being new to this series I needed to read the previous 3 installments, meaning that this review required 962 pages of reading… and worth every word. I spent the weekend with this odd assortment of characters and found them quite entertaining. I loved seeing the tender and loving sides to the otherwise badass bikers being exposed. I was taught to fear this subculture as a child, and even as an adult, I had never stopped to think of the human element underneath the leather and denim until stumbling upon this genre of books in recent months. I have enjoyed this series and found them suspenseful, sexy, and absorbing. I cared for most of the characters and wanted them all to get their HEA – although we lost some beloved members along the way. I am relatively new to this genre as well as these authors, but plan and hope to read more of them in the future.
The Severed MC series has been my favorite MC series from the beginning. I loved Carnal Persuasion just as much as the other books but it is a little different. Why do I say this? The other books are action-packed while this one has some action also it is no where near the amount we get in the others. With that being said I still loved Cowboy's story.
Cowboy is broken, he feels like he isn't good enough and never will be. I would say Cowboy is the most sensitive MC from this series yet, don't get me wrong he still is a hard and scary as a biker. That sensitive side of him really made me fall hard for this broken biker.
Cowboy and Lucy are close but very complicated. Can they both overcome their own issues and differences and have a future together?
I think K.T. Fisher & Ava Manello make one hell of a team. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. As with the other Severed MC books you get several different POVs from many of the main characters. I really enjoy getting pieces of the other characters lives. The cover for Carnal Persuasion is my favorite (Very HOT) and I must say I think Cowboy may be my favorite biker. (I have a thing for hot damaged men) I can't wait until the next one.
I can not say enough how much I love this series. Carnal Persuasion picks up right where Severed Justice left off. While this fourth book in the series centers around Cowboy and his story, I love that you get a little bit of everyone in all of the books.
This book is also full of twists and turns and keeps you on the edge, just like book 3. I love the family dynamic of the club. The authors do such a great job making you feel like you're a part of it.
I read this book in a few hours, because I wouldn't put it down. I can't say more, because I don't want to give away anything.
I absolutely love this series; every book is fantastic. I really, really hope that this was not the last of the Severed series!
This series has no problems killing off characters that is for sure and there are some hard hitting themes for sure but it's so good in places in each like this one there are times you think oh no but it turns one eighty and goes in another direction I love that in nooksit keeps them intresting
These are the emotions and situations that continue to consume the members of the Severed Motorcycle Club months after the brutal murders of brothers and loved ones. Every member of the club and those closest to them have been affected by the deaths and betrayals, and it's hard to get past the aftermath of those events, especially for Cowboy - someone who lives and breathes the guilt he feels over not having his brothers' backs like he should and not realizing what was happening to his best friend right in front of his eyes.
When Carnal Persuasion begins, Cowboy's at a cross roads in his life; he feels worthless and unnecessary, and he doesn't see the need to be around anymore because all he's done is let those he loved down. He's a broken man without hope, but when fate intervenes and sends him someone who wants to show him his self worth, will he allow that lesson to be learned or will his inadequacies continue to consume him and destroy any chance he may have on coming out of the darkness?
In book four of the Severed MC series, all the members of the Severed Club and their old ladies are back and working together to get past their mutual losses as well as deal with a new threat that is trying to infiltrate their town. Readers get to catch up with Eve and Angel and experience the hot and heavy love that is thriving between them. We also get some comical insights into Teresa's pregnancy and her horny tendencies. But at the forefront of Carnal Persuasion is Lucy helping Cowboy to realize is self worth and to fully realize that the guilt he feels is something he needs to let go of, so he can move on and find the kind of love he deserves.
Even though Cowboy and Lucy's story is not as intense as Severed Justice, it is not a drama free read. The stakes are still high and death and destruction is always imminent when you're dealing with the gritty world of bikers. Readers are also introduced to an outsider who seems to be on Severed's sides, but only time will tell if they can trust the man who only lives in the present because his past is not up for discussion.
KT Fisher and Ava Manello have co-written an exciting and smut filled journey into all facets of the MC world. Nothing is off limits and no one is safe as Fisher and Manello bring readers along for one hell of a ride where every twist and turn can be an end or a beginning for the characters readers have grown to love and/or hate.
I can't even begin to guess where the Severed MC series is headed, but what I do know is that darkness will ensue, but I hope to hell it doesn't win when it's all said and done.
A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.
Another fast paced MC drama. I hope there will be more in this series. Looking forward to it.
I'm curious about what happens with Cherry and Sam. I also want to know more about Declan, as well as some of the other loose ends that pretty much indicate that there has to be another book in the series. I wonder who it will feature? Ice? Kid? Those are two members of the MC that we know exist but don't know anything about them. I wonder if Ice and Holly will get together? They were mentioned together a few times. These books feature multiple POVs, so while there is a general love story that happens quickly (pretty much insta love connections), we are also following the stories of several side characters, so the main characters don't really stand out as much as one would expect.
The characters and plot could definitely have more depth. As I mentioned, the love stories come together rather quickly. Also, there is almost a formula to the way the action unfolds. There is usually a surprise element of betrayal by an unidentified character, deaths, fade to black drama where we are then led to believe something happened and have to figure out which character it happened to, etc. The drama deviates in each book, but I've noticed definite patterns. Still, I find myself engaged in each book, and they serve the purpose of an MC story with some action, drama, and angst here and there. I will continue on with the series.
Book 4 in the Severed MC series by Ava Manello and K T Fisher sees the troubled but ever loyal biker Ash aka Cowboy take to the fore. He's carrying the inner turmoil of feeling to blame for more than his fair share of pain and loss from previous MC troubles, personal agendas and family tragedies. He's a man who places high values on friendship, protection and loyalty. So his inability to protect and save his loved ones in times of need plays heavily on his mind.
Cowboy has distanced himself from his Severed family recently but Emma and her close friend Lucy cut through that cold exterior. Lucy is fiercely independent, fun and well liked by all the bikers and old ladies. She gets a new bar job at the newly refurbished Severed local bar which is now owned by Declan Donnelly, a man who Severed are keen to know more about in light of recent violence and events facing the club from an unknown threat. This threat escalates to new heights and it's something that "whatever course of action we choose to follow now will result in deaths. It's inevitable..."
Can Cowboy give himself a chance to care for someone again or will it all end in pain and loss again as club life in Severed has never been more chaotic for this set of bikers.
This is another stella MC book by Ava and K T, they manage to focus on a new couple as well as include a brilliant twisting plot that involves all of the well loved Severed and Carnal favourites. Will this threat cause any more losses to the Bikers of Australia? Will Cowboy get his HEA? And what is the reason that the Severed MC is being targeted? Read this to discover all the answers and you won't regret it!!
I was provided a copy of the book by the Authors for an honest review.
HOLY SMOKE I just finish reading this book, and let me tell you that I love Severed MC series way to much, I love the way this Authors write, I have to say that their was a part of the book that made me cried, I am gone have to keep this review sweet and short, cause I don't want to give anything away, and I am gone write this review different.
This book picks right up where SEVERED JUSTICE the 3 book in the series end. I was so happy that we finally get to read and learn more about Cowboy. And the way how he feels, I have read every single book in the series, and love it how they keep telling us more about each characters life, I like it that we could stay updated with the others characters from the series.
I love it that this is Cowboy story, and we learn the reason why he is always drinking, that's how he end up meting Lucy, the girl that he save at the bar, I love it how Lucy know how she feels about Cowboy, and the way she feel when shes around him, and love it how Cowboy say he wants to tried things with Lucy, and how they both agree to it, and the Sex Scene are Hot.
I also love it how we end up meting the new owner of the bar, where the girls have their girls night out, and love it how sexy and mysterious is this new character by the name Declan is, which I think I know what he is, but I would love to hear about him.
I really love and enjoy reading this book, and cant wait for the next book in the series, Author K.T. Fisher and Ava Manello THANK YOU for this AWESOME CHARACTERS AND THIS AMAZING WONDERFUL SEVERED MC SERIES LOVE IT.
So it's Cowboy's turn to entertain us so why am I left wondering..... who the hell is Declan?!!!!
I love this series so much. The stories are enjoyably short and don't leave you feeling drained and the characters are all so loveable. I'm still not happy about the demise of Justice but I've gotten over it, just!!!!
This instalment is mostly about the enticing Cowboy and Lucy. Still recovering from the shock of Disney, Cowboy thinks his life is worthless but Lucy walks in to save his life and she is determined to help this beautiful man put his heart back together again.
All of the usual crew are included in this book. From Teresa, who is comically pregnancy, to Angel, Eve, Ink, Elle and a whole host more. I loved the humour in this book especially when a visit to a certain strip club is in order. The old ladies rule this series as well as their men's hearts.
Ok, back to the mysterious Declan. He's obviously not a man to mess with and he's clearly dangerous so why oh why can I not wait to get my hands on more of him and his story. Will we ever find out his secret past and will Holly be a romantic interest of his in the future? Oh the possibilities with that man are endless and so mouth-wateringly delicious.
As expected there are plot twists and turns and some sadness along the way but I won't be threatening the authors with virtual violence this time!!!!
Carnal Persuasion Severed MC # 4 by K. T. Fisher and Ava Manello
A Great New Addition to the Severed MC Series! Highly Recommended!
I was provided with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The Severed MC Series if one of my favorite series of books ever! I cannot stress how original and action packed that this series is.
Due to the many plot twists and the storyline, it would be impossible to provide a summary of the story without potentially giving spoilers, so I won’t do that. Instead I will stress the key factors that make the series so fantastic.
Action- This is not a love story where people just gaze at each other. This is the story of an MC with rough alpha males. Their is a real story, and it is the story that will hook you into the series.
Characters- All of members of the MC are individuals, and you feel like you are stepping into a family and you care about all its members. The men are alphas but have their humanity. The women are filled with inner strength.
Fearlessness- This is a series that will make you love and hate the authors because they are fearless in their story telling. No characters are safe from potentially meeting their end, and this adds to the suspense.
All the craziness has affected everyone differently and now we see how Cowboy is dealing with it. He's been through so much and it's taken a toll on him, but the one bright spot is Lucy.
Lucy doesn't know how she's supposed to fit into a motorcycle club, but she knows she fits with Cowboy. They have their share of troubles trying to go from friendship to something more, and that's what makes for a good story.
You can see the chemestry between them, but Cowboy can go from Alpha male to Alpha ass and it's quite a trip to see him trying to learn how to balance his feelings without being overbearing.
Lucy is sweet and shy, but she's not one to be pushed around either, espically by a man. She's got a fiesty side and it was fun watching it come out.
The characters we've come to love so far we get to see more of while also meeting some new ones as well. My only wish is that the story would have been longer, I would've liked to see more of Cowboy and Lucy's backgrounds. Overall though what was there was amazing and I gobbled up every bit of it in 2 hours flat and had a blast while reading it! Love this series and can't wait for more!
I always try and leave a review with no storyline hints or spoilers. It's not easy as you want to spill the beans, you want to talk about the characters, the 'people' you identify with and why. You want to highlight your likes and loves, your dislikes and the face palming moments you experienced. the shocks, turns and twists. Really I want to...but I won't. Read the book yourselves. Make your own mind up as I did mine. I just picked up the book to read it today (life got in the way) and finished it in one sitting. Once i started I couldn't put it down.
So here goes...The problem with a good book (and this is one of them) is that you can't wait to finish it because you want to find out what happens in the end. And when you do, you are sorry, because now, it's finished. Carnal Persuasion hooked me in from the first few words and the pages just flew by. I couldn't read fast enough. Apart from some emotional tears, and trying to carry on and read through them, I very much enjoyed this book. I now have to read ALL of them.
I received a complimenty copy of this book through Crazy Cajun Book Addicts for an honest review. Carnal Persuasion is book 4 in The Severed MC Series and again it didn't dissapoint. The book is based on Cowboys story and with everything Severed as gone through recently he's holding onto a lot of the blame even though none of it was his fault. Enter Lucy you can feel the chemistry between these too straight away but Cowboy is pretty quick with the whole caveman thing and Lucy feels she doesn't quite fit in with the motorcycle club can Cowboy change her mind. Again as with the other books in the series there are lots of twists and turns and also lots of totally hot scenes to, we also find out what is happening in the lives of characters we have already meet and love aswell as meeting new ones. This is one of my favorite MC Series and can't wait to see what Ava and K T give us next.
Well it's certainty addictive, I kept thinking one more chapter I've got sh*t to do....sh*t never got done as I read it in a few hours....
To me it felt different from other books in series, seemed to concentrate more on 'club stuff ' and although I loved Cowboy and Lucy together I thought their ' romance ' was a bit rushed
What I do like about this series is that it's not just told from 2 characters POV, it's told from all the main characters POV, so it's good catching up with their stories
The sex was a bit tame for me ( not that I'm kinky or anything ! ) but I wanted it a bit dirtier ( oh God I DO sound kinky )
Anyway, an enjoyable MC BOOK and I will definitely keep going with series
Carnal Persuasion is the fourth book in the Severed MC series and it's time for Cowboys story. Dealing with recent events is proving difficult for poor Cowboy, he feels worthless and like he's let those he loves down. As Cowboy is trying cope the rest of the Severed boys are teying to figure out who's bringing drugs into their town. This book has a little bit of everything and i really enjoyed it. Ava and KT certainly know how to keep surprising me and i can't wait for the next book.
Book 4 of Severed MC brings more joy but more heartache to the members of Severed.
You have to wonder what else is going to happen to this group of people. They have been through so much but life keeps turning and twisting and throwing them for loops.
This book is just as great as the last ones and keeps you wanting more. Congrats girls on a job well done.
I was given a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
This was an OK read for me. I was expecting a little more from Cowboy's story based on how the book started, but I just felt that any depth wasn't really delivered. I do want to know more about Declen though
Another rollercoaster in this AWESOME series, loved every part of the book. Can't Waite for more. Well done Ava Manello and K T Fisher another amazing book xx
OMg loved Cowboy and Lucy's story........ Sooooooooooo many ooooh and aaaaaaah moments, so many ups and downs, such an emotional rollercoaster !!! LOVED IT !!!
SPOILER DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE STORY.
OK, gonna have to hide this review as I need to let it all out what I have gone through...
WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST READ...I thought this book was going to be about Justice and Emma, I liked Danni and new the end was coming for her, but I thought it was to make way for Emma, but no this is the first book I have read where it turned into Game of Thrones, main characters being killed and shocking the hell out of me...firstly YOU HAD TO DO IT AND KILL JUSTICE...WHAT THE HELL, not only that but HE (not Justice) THREW ELIZABETH AGAINST THE WALL..SHE WAS 3 YEARS OLD...what the hell (yes I am saying what the hell a lot as I have no words).
So you leave me on the train nearly crying only then to see Elizabeth alive and standing with her parents whist Justice and Danni are buried. Please please please let the next book be Cowboy and Emma...they need each other now.
OK spoiler over...still not over it though
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Poor Cowboy I had been feeling really bad for him, so much loss and undeserved guilt was weighing really heavy on him. This story is intense and just as much suspense as the other books in this series, it is well written with a fantastic flow throughout not just this one but the series as a whole. you cant afford to get to comfortable in any of these because the twists, turns and surprises just keep coming. There is action, violence, worry and love, also contains hot sexual content. Exciting and even a bit raw at times with the emotions going in all directions but these bikers dug deep into my heart and stayed there.
I’ve given all previous books I’m the series 5 stars but on principle I’m withholding one thus time. Simply because they keep killing off main good characters and it’s getting on my nerves! I hate it! Stop please!
