I feel like this was an ad for a professional home organiser. It was full of dictionary definitions and quotes from “unknown”, sentences repeated themselves and the “jokes” cringed me out when they were constantly followed by “just kidding”. I enjoyed the discussions on law of attraction but otherwise this was not a helpful read for me personally.

Thank you to Libro.Fm for the review copy.

3.5⭐️ This is a good refresher and motivator to get my house organized for the new year. A cluttered house is a cluttered mind so I’m ready to free up some space after a chaotic year’s end! The book is somewhat repetitive and I didn’t really learn anything new but this book would benefit people who don’t know where to start on their organizational journey. Thank you libro.fm for the gifted audiobook!

This book is different from others that I've perused in the past. It's not full of tricks, organizational hacks, and promises for a clutter free future. What it DOES contain is motivation, which is even more priceless in my life. All the organizational advice in the world can't work if I'm not motivated.

In her book, Robyn Reynolds shares what has become her mantra, "Everything has a price: time, space, money or energy". As she explains the true costs of the clutter in our lives relative to these four areas, she also shares stories of clients she has worked with and what she and they have learned through the process.

The audiobook, narrated by Ozzie Jacobs, was an interesting and informational listen blended with the feel of chatting with a friend about their work over coffee. I particularly appreciated the Afterward which contains exercises and reflections to help identify the areas of concern in a more tailored and personal way.

Thank you to the publisher and Libro.fm for the gifted audiobook.

This was an okay book. If you're looking for something to help you clear the clutter, this is not it. This book is basically just telling you how clutter is costing you time, space, money, and energy. The action steps for how to fix it are the VERY end and they're not plentiful. I already know that clutter around my house is STRESSFUL and inefficient, so this didn't help me. Furthermore, she comes with SUCH a privileged lense, it was hard not to cringe. Struggle with clutter? Hire it out! Struggle with laundry? Hire it out! As others said, it felt like an ad for her personal business. With all that being said, I did like how she talked about your space attracting more of the same (whether thats clutter or clarity) and it wasn't a BAD listen, it just wasn't overly helpful and got cringy at times.

I was really excited for this one. I struggle with clutter and saving things “just in case” however I felt like the author was more scolding me than giving me ways to help get rid of clutter. I was hoping for more of an intervention and skills to help make decisions to free up space and go through my stuff. This was more just telling me all the ways the clutter is affecting my mental and physical health which in turn just stressed me out more. I need coping mechanisms not someone telling me all the ways that I’m failing. I like the concept but I just feel like it was poorly executed.

The information in this would be a good place to start, but I need to place a caveat here that as someone who was diagnosed with ADHD at 36 some of the things she dismisses as quirks that come with excessive clutter are symptoms of ADHD. After I was diagnosed and received occasional medication my issues were greatly improved and nearly eradicated. Read this, but only if you’re also reading other books about this to build a more robust point of view and understanding.

Very much telling what is good but not how to achieve it. Also felt like an ad for her services.

One issue I had is that she didn’t express how if you don’t have the means of hiring a laundry service (lol) how to do it in your own life - for example I’m a wfh mom with a toddler - no practical advice tbh but good motivation and reminders

I DIDN'T KNOW IF I WAS LOOKING AT A DIGITAL CLOCK (TIME STOPS) OR AN ANALOG CLOCK (TIME CREEPS FORWARD) WITH THIS ONE BUT I ALWAYS LIKE TO READ ABOUT DECLUTTERING AND DREAM ABOUT HOW ONE DAY I'LL ACTUALLY DO IT

This book was okay; it was a quick listen of the ARC audiobook. However, I wasn't a fan of the narrator, and the author used too many phrases like “but I digress.” I did take away a few useful tidbits, but I probably wouldn't recommend it, unless you're considering gifting it to someone who knows very little about the subject.
